OVERALL OPINION

I use this keyboard for 2 weeks, he replaced an Evolution MK-361C. There is no comparison with the old who had just cost less. Touch is really enjoyable (it's a Roland keyboard, APRS all) the quality of manufacture is impeccable. I think it's the MODEL the most successful of all keyboard / control surface available today (those of Midiman compartment or Evolution).

Pretty easy to use. Although you don't need midi maps to use the product, It would've been nice if they added the midi maps on a disk with the product. You have to go to Edirol's site to download "pre-canned" (midi) format files for different software packages such as FL, Sonic, Logic, etc.

OVERALL OPINION

All knobs, faders and keys are pretty durable. They don't feel "plastic-y".

Feature complete for a MIDI keyboard. The only minor thing I wish it had was dedicated buttons for playback and transport.

Once it's configured, it's a snap to use. The initial uploading of the MIDI data to control my sequencer was fine, but reading the manual on how to customize some of the buttons was not intuitive.

OVERALL OPINION

Seeing as the small footprint and configurable knobs are something (that when I purchased this unit) were new aspects of my interaction with my sequencer, it's all love...

The only thing i would add to this keyboard is better documentation (it really does suck as far as usefulness) i might be particular and add some weighted keys but that would raise the price substantially

UTILIZATION

The controllers loaded easily and showed up instantly on my mac.... the faders and knobs are a nice feature because u can control the NN-XT in reason from the knobs on the console (delay, decay etc)

the keys have such a great feel (for not being weighted).... the fluidity of midi data transfered is like ur actually playing the instrument patch ur using

OVERALL OPINION

All in all for the price and for the trusted name (edirol is part of the Roland corp) and for the durability (i beat on the keys lol) its one of the best things i have bought for midi... i have nothing but good things to say
