Roland A-88

Some of the features that motivated my choice were the 88 semi weighted keys with a very powerful touch and sensitivity response , the light and fancy design and the price.

There is a midi type of connection.

UTILIZATION

The general configuration and setup is quite simple , thanks to the technology that comes with this product , you get an instant connection with your working DAW and the power comes from its usb connectivity.

The manual is well designed , very easy to follow and visually easy to retain.



OVERALL OPINION

What I like most about it , is the fact that even if this is a very fancy midi controller you can still use it as a portable music tool.
The 88 keys semi-weighted sound and feel really realistic , the Ivory Feel-G technology really makes a huge difference.

The keys have advanced sensor technology, and the white keys are very comfortable, they have a soft surface that feels like real ivory.

This keyboard is USB power based which is even better , that way you don't extra cables and so you save space.

This product has also two knobs, two switches, and D-BEAM controller and a very lightweight and compact design that facilities movement.

My opinion about the value for the price is okay , this is quite an expensive product but the quality that is has , the realistic feel , it deserves the money.

Precision and quality of the sound is great if analyzing from the connectivity with your daw , no latency encountered.

Knowing what I know , I would get this product.

Roland A-88 is a midi controller, not very cheap cheap but very high quality and playful.
Characteristics that motivated my choice was Premium 88-key Ivory Feel-G keyboard,and also the direct link mode.
It has a midi connection that works really great with Pro Tools and other daw's .

UTILIZATION

The general configuration of the program it's very simple, yet very very fast.
The manual has a nice description regarding the knobs, slides, velocity sensitive keys, presets, program changes and MIDI channels.
The patch selection is easy to follow even for an amateur, it's very straight-forward and sensitive.

OVERALL OPINION

What I like most about are the 88-key Ivory Feel-G keyboard , the lightweight and compact design , the Two knobs, two switches, the D-BEAM controller is also a great feature.

What I also like is the fact that is USB bus powered , is compatible with Windows Xp / Vista / Mac OSX and Windows 7 and the fact that this product can be connected to an Ipad.

My opinion regarding the price of this product is decent , you can buy this great usb midi controller online for about 1000 $ , which is not that much if you consider the 88 keys provided , the great feel , the weighted keys and the great design.
Precision and quality of the sound is very good, the knobs , the keys , everything responds very well , I haven't find any problems regarding its features.

I've tried several midi controller , this is one of the best that describes the feel of a real piano , however if you're fancy about different knobs , pads , and stuff , you can find a more complex kind of midi controller.

Knowing what I know , I would buy this product if I would search for something that is as close to a piano.

I did not read. The beast works once connected.

The general configuration is it simple?
For a long time I did not configure my master keyboards. I set Mainstage directly!
Ditto for MIDI channels

OVERALL OPINION

I use it every day for almost a year.
I especially like the touch keyboard and sobriety.

Default for my taste: it has little control and they could be placed on the hard keyboard (above the buttons), which would remove a little length to the keyboard and thus make a little less Kayak! !
