What can I say about this guitar other than I have been playing Semi professionally for over 20 years now and this is probably one of the best guitars I've ever played and owned Martin has nothing Like this in their regular lineup Drop dead gorgeous and amazing playing very rare do you get both Beautiful Rosette Abalone 45 Style Custom neck Profile John dsign This for easy access at every fret Gorgeous black African Ebony fret board & saddle Engemann Spruce Top Yes is this the same spruce they use on the D-200 Deluxe model $150000 This specific spruce ages Like no other I have 2 Engemann top guitars I will Never Sell Disregard other reviewers you can use almost auy string Combination some do work better than other I get a continuous crisp clear sound this guitar is a Tone Canon That rings like a bell These are extremely hard to get a lot of stores can't keep these in stock they are a special edition and individually numbered I pre ordered mine And have a lower number If you're serious about your music this guitar is for you a family heirloom for sure I have fun

UTILIZATION

OM style guitars in the past couple of decades have really fallen out of popularity, but it is due to people like John Mayer that they have actually seen a bit of a resurgence in a market flooded by dreadnaught and grand auditorium styles. I played one of these in a store one day, not being a huge John Mayer fan, but obviously having heard of him, thought this was a really nice sounding guitar. I have never been much of a fingerpicker, so I assumed a John Mayer signature OM type would be strictly a finger style affair. I was pretty shocked to learn that this guitar felt great in the hand and seemed to feel right for any style. The action felt lovely and the whole guitar just feels quite natural and right for lack of a better word. I can't say anything bad about it really. One of the most refreshing feeling guitars I've played in a long time.

SOUNDS

Surely yes, it sounds awesome for finger style and I think most people who get these are into that sort of thing. It's clear. But what impressed me is how versatile the sound is. It does well for strumming given you don't go nuts with the pick. It has a boxey boomy focused sound that is hard not to love. But it's not quiet by any means. The electronics system is new to me but I think it sounds awesome. It really makes me want to finger pick more because of how awesome it sounds in that style of play.

OVERALL OPINION

I have played a few of these and they all sound really really good. There's a serious amount of detail that goes into these. It's pretty impressive to behold. As good as it looks, it isn't done justice until you get your hands on it. Sure it's a lot of cash, and Martins these days are probably marked up a lot based on the name, but this particular model is worth the change.

UTILIZATION

A superb round a bit thinner than the average, an ebony-black sublime deep and heavenly sweetness. The petty cash that the guitar is very comfortable (partly solved my back problems)

SOUNDS

The overall sound of the guitar is rich bass with treble soft enough.

Compared to a D-28, the sound lacks a bit of midrange and highs are more striking. In this range of very high level, I do not think you can say "better or worse" it's just a fact of his color.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, a great guitar, especially the hot color of the Englemann gives even more desire to show people and to play. Features superb, with a perfect finish in all sobriety making it an exceptional guitar. My level of guitar has naturally improved simply because I play longer and with great pleasure!
