The Adam S-3A is a professional studio monitor that is to be used in pairs, but sold separately. For whatever reason, at a certain level they sell monitors as a single, but you're still going to want two of these for a proper set up. These are 3-way active speakers and don't need any external power. This is a unique monitor since it has a built in sub woofer, boasting a frequency range from 32 Hz to 35 kHz +/- 3db. It's got XLR connections on it...
I haven't done much real work on the Adam S-3A's, but have heard them a few times. The studio I work at also has another location where there are some private rooms and one of them has these in them where I got the chance to hear some tracks played through them. Almost needless to say, I was pretty blown away by the full sound of these monitors, as the bass and mid range responsive is incredible while the highs are nice and tight. Unfortunately since I haven't used them for mixing or tracking it's hard to say how well they translate over to other systems.
The Adam S-3A's are perfect for a high end home studio or a professional studio, as they're simply an awesome sounding set of monitors. I've never heard a speaker from Adam that I didn't like, as I've got A7's at home. These are great for larger control room spaces where you might want more low end response if they're not going to be right up in your face. They're definitely not cheap, but if you're looking for a top end set of monitors, in general it's going to be expensive. I'm not sure that these would be my first choice for a set of monitors if I had a choice of any, but definitely keep them in the discussion.

What motivated my is to have already worked with P11.
However, it lacked the lower midrange and bass, so I wanted to go to a good series above.
The use is mixing on electronic music.
Is the frequency curve sufficiently neutral? Is good stereo? The sound is clear and precise across the spectrum? Is the dynamics are respected? ... *dropoff Window
So that's where it hurts ... The S3A is "stereo image" and neutrality. After taking over the various projects and have mixed with the S3A, my levels were IMPECC. The mastered cuts, light effects and perfectly parameters (reverb)

I also have the SUB 10 and AC can indeed bring roundness to listen but good if you have a small room that is not really worth it because of the low frequency is in there.
How long have you use it? What thing do you like most and least? Have you tried many other models before buying it? How would you rate the quality / price? With experience, you do again this choice? ... *dropoff Window
It's been a few months that I use and I will never part as there is no ear fatigue and rendering is excellent.
I compared with génélecs and focal but it sounds different (too cold and too Hifi same ...)
I do not know how to explain but the sound ADAM is a habit that is taken very quickly.
My only regret is not having invested earlier in this range "S" because the other series are nettemment a notch below but remain
faithful to the quality all the same.
I repeat that choice 10 times.
I chose the S3A for quality ribbon tweeter adopted by Adam, the ideal bandwidth without adding a subwoofer, integrated amplification for a more than adequate for a home studio.
The frequency curve is neutral, excellent dynamics, the stereo very fair because it ensures good acute, brief the entire spectrum is well respected flawless.
I have been using it for 4 years before I was with the headphones and listen to full fault, I tried the GENELEC 1031 is also good for the price, I listened to 1038 and here I am not a fan. Adam has great products for me above Genelec. I am fortunate to have that S3A over her younger sisters in between "the great court" necessarily more expensive but also more complete especially in the bass where the mix is more accurate. What I like most is listening comfort not even tired all day, we can say that these are real studio monitors because the mix is simply easier. Attention to two things, the sibilants are often exaggerated tapping public and do not forget that the distortion does exist. With S3A it'll always against it in the car can twist. This last point is more than mastering the mix but better think twice before (a small cut at 40Hz it can help sometimes).
