When I opened my studio pro five years ago I chose to invest in new speakers to have more loyalty than my good old HR824. I listened in the store a dozen pairs, and I was quickly seduced Twin6 Be. They are connected with me the output of a Presonus Central Station, converters SSL Alphalink SX in a room acoustically treated.

Power is more than enough, I did not even feel the need to add a sub (it's a studio, not a nightclub eh p)

SOUNDS

rendering is very very good, so detailed that it can be surprising at first, especially in the treble. There is a small run-time, but nothing too serious. It is easy to isolate any are in his head because no part of the spectrum do not "drool", especially in severe and low-mids, very strong and clear, often where other monitors can fish. The dynamics is fully transcribed, the settings of treatment type compressor / gate / limiter / etc are much easier.

OVERALL OPINION

After five years of daily use in conditions pro, I would do the same choice. It's simple, Twin6 Be are part of some hardware component that has changed my work completely. It was after several months of work on it as I could for the first time being on the proceedings of a mixing or mastering without being tempted to listen to elsewhere (car, house, etc.), and it is always the today.

Unlike other reviews, I have not had any problem locating or setting (but my room is treated and studied geometry).

I see no weakness in these monitors, even the price (certainly not cheap, but we're talking about serious hardware there) seems correct.

I would also like to point out (because it is extremely important if you are a professional) the excellent customer service to Focal, who have repaired and returned three days a speaker who had a small problem (after 5 years, resistance to change ), let me pay for the labor or the cost of return, all that out of warranty. AAA rating seems like a trader!

I thought for 6 months to change my Genelec 8030 speakers cons upscale to go upmarket and definitely do without the box.

I use in my studio for composing and mixing electronic music, mainly house, they are plugged into a Monster XLR Tc Electronic Studio Konnect 48.

I chose as the focal technical characteristics seemed to be the best at this price (1000 euros each): 3-Way, Tweeter beryllium, the finish is perfect, the wooden sides are the most beautiful effect.

On this side of nothing wrong, documentation and instructions clear and precise, perfect finish and packaging.

For a price slightly higher than the Solo 6, there is a stereo image clearer and better defined bass.

The lack of volume knob behind me seems to be a plus, we do not spend one hour to verify that the 2 speakers are the same.

They are hard to place, but the speakers at this level are deserving the attention, pity that Focal have not provided a suitable base for mounting or mounted on legs.

I'll avoid talking too much neutrality because after a week of use they are not yet honed and I still feel the change but for now no frequency seemed to me too much or too apparent.

The stereo is really impressive and above all, incredibly accurate, it seems to hear the slightest degree pan, as opposed to monitoring or other means well the center and the less extreme but the lighter parts, but I ' will come back later ...

Another thing that stuck me is the clarity, precision and dynamics in high frequencies brings the beryllium tweeter, one reaches the pinnacle of the voice: we really feel that the voices of pregnant gush and the mix amazingly well emerge.

The momentum seemed perfect, although not finished running I want to wait before giving a definitive opinion.

In conclusion, I describe a feeling rather "odd" that I felt during my first listen, these speakers are completely forget where it focuses on music, was the impression of listening to a sound from the speakers but to be "in" music, the stereo is so balanced and sound so pure that it is impossible to say with your eyes closed or placed on the speakers, and say that's what makes me say that these speakers fill their role, we really feel like they are replacing our ears.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had it a week.

I spent some time in listening booths and for me, no speaker of that price does not have many assets.

The pros:

+ The clarity and sharpness through the beryllium tweeter
+ The stereo image
+ Linearity
+ The look and quality finishes

The -:

- Investing more complicated in a room without acoustic treatment.

I use it in the studio with a pair of Dynaudio BM 5A.

SOUNDS

The frequency curve is not entirely neutral, there is a slight increase of some db between 100 and 125 Hz. The stereo image is impeccable and the sound is clear and straightforward. Not blur the image.
I had the chance to test a pair, Event, Dynaudio, and my choice, Focal for a simple reason. After the mix for a title in each of the monitor model, the Focals I told the truth without really gray area.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using one myself. I love it. I re-listened to some old mixes with my Focal and I quickly realized that my old mix was not as good as I thought. I apologize about my clients
InFocus is clear sharp and clear.

The quality / price is very good.

I would make the same choice on it.
