The first generation of the KRK’s haven been used and loved by so many people its crazy. This was one of my better purchases of monitors that I think that I have every made. This are the original KRK monitors and when they first came out I under estimated how good they would actually sound. The KRK rokit 6’s actually sound so much bigger than 6’s. this are professional monitors but they are affordable and sized at the perfect size so you can have them at home for you mixing of your songs. The frequency response on them are great, the highs are clean the mids are perfect and the lows are good but not over bearing. Most monitors today have just too much low end and I like my low end to be a little flat so that it can be mixed better and come out to make the song sound fuller rather than just sound like a bunch of bass.


SOUNDS

The sound is great, unfortunately KRK didn’t keep the exact same formula with the 1st generation KRK’s with the new ones because there are a difference from these to the newer ones they have come out with. The flat bass on these is what makes them stand out in my opinion. These are made for mixing or doing some mastering of your music in. Not to just listen to your music in at high volumes. If you want to just listen to your music go out and buy some Bose systems and listen.


OVERALL OPINION

Overall, these are the best KRK’s to me and the original flat response is excellent. My right monitor had some issues and ended up going out on me so I ended up getting a different set of monitors from Alesis which couldn’t compare to the KRK first generation 6’s. I still have KRK monitors today but they don’t sound as good as the first generation KRK’s.

SOUNDS

The curve response does not bump or hollow, and provides deep bass even lower regime, precise highs and treble permit a reliable stereo image.
The dynamics are very good.

OVERALL OPINION

I've only had them for five days but have been used to working with HR824 that were too powerful for my local, I'm not with these dpays KRK.
In showroom I tried a dozen other speakers in this price range but this one I immediately liked as much for their neutrality as for their power and precision.

I was looking for a pair of monitors for a first second hand purchase. I narrowed down my choices to the HS 50 from Yamaha and this one. Reviews of the HS 50 said they were sorely lacking bass.  Since I am a tribecore / hardcore I needed bass! I bought them for 200 € second hand.

SOUNDS

The curve is not neutral, I would say that the bass is a little more powerful but it's no big deal for my style, on the contrary!  The highs are not super accurate. On the other hand, there aren't any infra-lows, you need to have a sub or a headset and even more if necessary, but this is really knit picking.

The dynamic is very good I find the stereo good as well.

Overall the sound is not aggressive, you can work several hours without your ears tiring out.  These are good little boxes, not so small actually .. For a first purchase I am completely satisfied.

PS: If you want to work on pieces that require special attention to the highs such as violins, piano, guitar etc, get something else.

OVERALL OPINION

I use them for three weeks already, I have chosen them for their performance on mediums and lows. I would repeat this choice again!

I tried Fostex (not to my taste) of prodipe (sucks!) Yamaha (very cold for my taste)
positive characteristic: aced in front, general look, footprint size, connectivity, setting, quality/price

negative feature: knob volume at the back, a little more bass would be fine, 1 year after my purchase the rockit came out with the rounded box! for better circulation, the models are quickly replaced: (

I would repeat without hesitation this choice, I am very very happy with these monitors, superb qualities for a very affordable price, they age very well with no apparent damage with time

The KRK Rokit 6 studio monitors are a pair of active monitors designed for home and professional studios. Since they are active monitors, they don't need to be powered by an external power amplifier. These monitors are pretty small as far as monitors go, but they pack a lot of punch in their smaller size. They have the black and yellow color scheme that KRK has become associated with.

SOUNDS

The KRK Rokit 6s are pretty accurate across the board in terms of their frequency response. They don't color your sound at all and the sound you hear coming from the KRK Rokit 6 is true to what is actually being played. The stereo imaging is both accurate and satisfactory and the speakers present a nice stereo spread. While they don't have a huge low end presence, the KRK Rokit 6s are full enough sounding to mix on in my opinion because they cover the mids and highs very well. You just have to know that they don't have a prominent low end presence and compensate for it while you are mixing. The KRK Rokit 6s are also great for monitoring or for simply listening to music on. They have a full sound that really make them a pleasure to listen on.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the KRK Rokit 6s for about two years and have found them to be a great choice for the home studio owner when it comes to monitors. They don't cost a fortune and will give you a nice response all across the board. Since they are small, they are perfect for the project or home studio owner, but would also be suitable for a professional studio since they do sound great. Overall, the KRK Rokit 6s are a great deal and are definitely worth a try for home studio owners.
