Regarding the use is an analog console, no need to extend two hours on the case, there is little simpler ...

I was just very reluctant to buy a console tascam, which for me was frankly not of high quality ....
Well I was wrong!
Looking for a vintage console, I came across this m320b, I just posted on this forum to make history a temperature other than opinions read on, that seemed a bit much considering my aprioris on the brand.
And then all of a sudden an ad, I do not the whole story, but hey I'm tempted! Considering the price I paid and I took a small risk anyway, but ... I had to go through the box review, a few condos for change, the power supply to Recapper etc etc ...
and then ultimately the sound test ... and the slap! Absolutely magical, incredible precision, roundness, warmth etc. etc. ...
The 3-band EQ yet are incredible! I do not really expect that!
the preamps are really gorgeous, I tested on a battery taken and it's really amazing quality to final ...
I do not compare with anything else, because it is useless, but it sounds this old 320b, it sounds really great!

OVERALL OPINION

So I recently started using now, I have obviously worked on many consoles, Allen, Amek, Tac, yamaha PM, Neve etc etc ...
And looking for a good opportunity I came across this one that was not sold at all the legends mentioned above ...
I'm really not disappointed with my choice! I do it again now closed eyes, and yet I do not wear Tascam in my heart!
I tested a summation of a mix in progress, and I had the honors!
I think I found the console, the sound that I was missing ...
This console to 30 years, and it works great!
Thank you to everyone who convinced me to buy it, it's just what I needed for my studio ....

So good for features I will be quite short ...
This is a very heavy console, the brawny as then!
This console is now classed among the so-called vintage consoles, it dates from the 80s.
There are 20 slices with increments, a microphone input with phantom power (on off), a line, insert and direct out ...
there are four subgroups
there is a stereo and a mono main output will tell us.
I quit for the good features ...

In terms of using, well it is an analog console ... It's very simple what! But it has a fairly complete routing ... it's really great!

So here the story ...
This console is simply staggering!
I used a bit of work on this kind of console. I did not know the M320b before trying to buy it then.
I could compare it to a preamp Hearing, asp08, but mostly a Amek 9098 CL, well my console is at tascam and smoothly, it gives a voice to the presence of fishing drums! It colors, gives the magnitude of the thickness at any sound that will return it!
Really for the price I bought it and I made a bargain!
I would not compare it to a Neve or SSL at the time, we must not exaggerate, but sincerely it's a really superb! If you find a will there eyes closed, it's the bomb that console!

OVERALL OPINION

Well, well, I have almost everything!
This console was a real discovery for me, I always now and obviously I'm not ready to part with it! I'm with it enough to make the analog summing serious, to give my mix's a color not found anywhere!
I'm just in love!

Analog mixer vintage 80's.

20 channel, 4 buss (with insert and start with 3 and 4), 2 in 1 effect (in), 4 return pgm mixable or not the sum of the buss

- Track: line or mic input, +48 V, insert, eq semiparametric med 200 Hz to 4 kHz; low 50 Hz to 1 kHz, 4 kHz hi classic returns with the departure, a departure effective with returns, can send to 4 buss, pan left right, channel mute and solo.

- Buss (with insert and start with 3 and 4) output switch with balanced / unbalanced

- Master Section: Master and mono output, master insert, 1 headphone, talkback mic, BNC connection for lamp

- Return pgm: 8 mono or 4 returns magneto stereo, mixed or not the sum of the buss.

- Led to overload.

- VU meter needle.

UTILIZATION

Simple configuration: Simple analog.

Manual: complete and clear thick binder with everything in detail and of course the patterns of the 3 Series models (M-308 M-312 M-320).

Everything is at hand for quick and convenient use.

SOUNDS

Sound: For my part, I find it magical!
My consoles have aged well. It's really strong and even more than today's hardware (quality of components).

Preamp: good headroom and no breath to trim (never needed to push through).
Transparency: Yes or no! "I pass by them for the sound (line or mic) and also used for
returns my tracks separated from my PC via my MOTU interface on the console. "
So! yes transparency in the sense that what goes in the same ring after registration.
And no! In the sense that, once the hot console and if you go further in the preamp (lower
earnings of sources used in the preamp and enhance the volume to trim the console) you win
presence in the sound without distorting the sound, more heat (your choice).

Eq: It's been fun.
I take pleasure in my power to ring sounds (drums "how denting its signal to grow," and
notcher how aggressive the treble of your condenser microphones to soften the voice.

OVERALL OPINION

I have been using a half years for making sounds and mixing.

I mix hip-hop, reggae, electro, and rock and I have nothing to redire.J 're doing what I want to.
Now I have mastered all of my equipment and I obtain what I really want.

I buy the 320 B in a good condition about 850 euros "revised" and I did not hesitate.

I own 3 of the Series M-300.

An M-312, an M-320 and M-320 B.

The M-312 for sources to be recorded and the M-320 B mixes for returns.

The other 320 formerly used for my association that I will revise and sell soon because (dissolution associative).
