I bought this synthesizer on ebay and payed about $450. After playing one at a local music store I had to pick one up.

The Korg MS 2000 offers the wonderful classic analog sounds of the past while mixing with the updated digital technology of today. The MS 2000 offers everything one needs in a synthesizer. From a 16 band vocoder to a MOD Sequencer to an arpeggiator, along with the ability to plug any sounds source into the module to tweak and manipulate any sound you like on the 44 key unit, the korg does it all. The Korg also offers MIDI in out and thru connections to sync with your computer or other midi devices. With so many dedicated knobs for modifying sounds, you don't need to be bothered with the paging through windows on a tiny LCD screen. The endless sounds of the LFO's and EG's along with the virtual patches alongs for any musical style to be created. From sweeping synth sounds that emulate Pink Floyd, or the synth dance sounds of the eighties, to pop, rock, techno. Whatever style of music you enjoy creating, the MS 2000 will work for you.

Honestly there isn't much at all I do not like about this unit. Regularly priced from about $700-$750, the price seems a little steep. At first I didn't like that many of the sounds were monophonic, but then I realized that you can changed whether the notes played are monophonic or polyphonic within the keyboard.

The unit is made with beautiful wood side panels along with a sturdy metal construction of the rest of the body. Even better yet is that the unit is very light, so there is no busting your back carrying around a big 76 or 88 key keyboard that weighs a ton.

Great sounding synth with many combinations of sounds. Past to present the korg covers your style.

Polyphony limit (4 votes ...) but more than enough To create layers and effects for the indie pop and post-rock.

Synthse analog, no need to seek an imitation of raliste acoustic sounds ...

OVERALL OPINION

Used for several months in indie pop To create effects, layers and moods over the guitars.
Excellent price quality ratio, we find 300 euros or less opportunity.

UTILIZATION

It is quite easy to use. The instructions are clear enough, even if we delve in to the beginner like me in modeling.

SOUNDS

I play in a band pop / rock French and the sounds you can get are fine for this style. Of course we must have fun with, not to use the factory sounds that are too oriented electronica. For our part we have created a bank of sounds specific to our set piece. (3 / 4 different sounds). To defend the subject of negative reviews, I would say it is not for purists analog sounds: It is good to digital! That's what I love is what makes it unique (and price!).
For a good command of the intrument it is necessary to use a sustain pedal, the feelings are more "realistic".

OVERALL OPINION

In conclusion, I would say that I bought it because everyone was critical! I thought at least I would have a synth that nobody uses! Take advantage of this, the price drops considerably used.
Another important point, I'm a big fan of the band Weezer, and the synth sound on some songs. And, oh surprise, the MS2000 is pictured on the book's last album, which should increase somewhat the reputation of the MS2000!
I do it again if I buy it direct, and I bought three others for selling three times the price in 15 years!

A lot of buttons on this keyboard friendly, the parameters are editable via MIDI
with a control surface is even better ...

SOUNDS

The sounds are reminiscent of the 80 monophonic synth with a poly 4 (a fair bit) I used the MS20, the korg 770 (I always!) And it's pretty similar.
As against the factory sounds are average
the effects are interesting, but with a little reverb added is even better.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year or more, if we control with a MIDI control surface and editing software is little better explore what it has in the stomach.

SOUNDS

This synth has a lower reputable Nordlead that while it was 10 times better! Except for some pnalise polyphony that sounds. The sound is powerful, just as it is easy to microKorg CRER sounds imitating those 99% of the old analog type MS20, ARP2600 and others that are unable to Nordlead (so I know I j'an what I mean). Most of this synth is also incorporated the effects of good quality trs. All types of analog sounds are possible, complex effects and leads to deep and powerful dtuns through powerful bass much fat, not to mention arpges planing. In a little fiddling we find almost perfect sounds of WYD Oxygne and Equinoxe. The tablecloths are unfortunately limits because of its polyphony damage.

OVERALL OPINION

The MS2000 a particular look, we like it or not. I think this is so far the best analog synth modlisation with Novation SuperNova.
His report is unbeatable qualitprix!

I would do without this choice hsiter one second as nothing better will come out on the market for this type of synths.

AND FOR INFO, A CS1X is very broad LARGUE FOR A PARTICULAR MS2000, CA HAS NOTHING TO DO! (SEE NOTE BELOW)
