Korg synth in 1982 for the polyphonic concurencer of the time as the Prophet 5 on a niche more or less similar. The synthesizer is divided into 3 parts Brass / String / Synth all playable in unison. 8 voice polyphony
ATTENTION: the synth has neither Midi or CV / Gate and the operation to integrate one of its two control mode seems heavy. So while you are warned is usually with the hands.

UTILIZATION

Well the config is simple and not difficult to navigate, everything is in a tablet so as 90% of the machines of that time, it's simple. I did not have the manual and I do not need. The synth has memories (16 I believe) and everything is easily editable.

SOUNDS

Sound. Well it is a machine 'warm-brass' in all its glory. No need to break you into a short sharp low SCI Moog or his cousin or more expess the Polysix. Forget the FX and other complex modulations, is not he heavy atmospheres and air make it live. You are now confined to his register the strictest namely a heavy sound, very 'progressive' that does not deny Shultz / Tangerine Dream. But this is nothing more, nothing less, too. At the same time it does not go unnoticed and playing on the parties 'tune' of the machine gives a unique sound, very expressive and almost fascinating to live elsewhere. Admittedly, when playing on a Trident we feel that the vehicle runs on a technology from another era.

OVERALL OPINION

Used for 3 months and sold after a failure. The machine is very heavy, bulky and not easy to do more to repair (open, you will understand what I mean). Despite its undeniable presence and a powerful (Boards of Canada) is finally a little bored.
The best is to surround a few members of his family of origin (MS20, Monopoly etc ...) to find her qualifications as a synth to complement the presence indisputable.
Now it's a synth heavy (20kg) wide and deep, and its acquisition (not more than € 800) deserves a true reflection.
