UTILIZATION

No more easy to use, we take a speakon, we plug in the head, even to the cabinet (I use an ampeg SVT810E classic) and presto! not need to take the lead with the impedance is lit, you plug the bass and you can enjoy!
Ampeg gives settings "factory" in the doc (rock, jazz, country etc.) very useful to see the possibilities of the beast, but it's short ... 2 sheets, description of the front, rear, of the main functions, settings, problems / solutions and then the diagram of the amplifier. SOUNDS

The head amp is really versatile, I have used for a variety of sessions (Rap, rock, variety, French song, my metal band !..), and concerts, and many bassists like it (ask Krucifix the thought that his bass player ...).
I play bass and Fender G & L (see profile) and uses a slight compression, with a bassball from time to time ...
the diversity of sounds is impressive because the EQ is really active! over the head has a parametric EQ and a graphic EQ, switachable via pedal, so you can go from a warm, full and round with fingers snapping sound perfect for slap (example), or equalizer with parametric and correct defects qques frequency with the graph (Koike and 9 bands of EQ are not used much in my opinion, referring to the frequency range of a bass, not very credible .. c .) multiply the various buttons of its variants, bright, ultra bass, ultra high ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since 1999, have tried many other heads in the studio, I almost fall for an svt classic but not so versatile! Fender asked me not long ago a bassman 100 head ... ki is quickly returned to the factory with its 4x10 cabinet ...
The price is very high, about 3500 euros so be reserved for the rich, or enthusiasts or professionals ... at that price must be added a change of lamps from the beginning (the head was not equipped with groove tubes but by a Polish brand!) if you can afford it (the operation is interesting because your lights will wear of heads ... and how it can save more sessions ...), change every year adjustable + the bia ... the cost of annual maintenance is a small car ...
but I will do the same choice as the must c bass amps, people buy the ki generally keep (I do not see often OCCAZ ')
monstrous head, but not within the reach of every budget, so no note max ...
