Class D amp type "numeric" with a power of 450W for about 4KG. Already, it is huge. But in addition it works fine without baffle. At the rear an excellent preamp output that is because I use a lot: on small stage I'm too lazy to carry the cabinet industry and I therefore direct sound, big on stage, I put my back and baffle as j sends the output sound to the front, and I use it as a recording preamp directly into my sound card. These are characteristics that motivated my choice (size, weight, sound quality, versatility)

UTILIZATION

Super simple setup (fortunately, I am a musician, not an astronaut, too much button or parameter and I stress). I used the manual function to access the schedule by the shift knob but frankly, by adjusting the compressor, I use it almost not. I find it easy to have a good sound. this amp is a very straight, it fully respects the instrument. It is far from an all-tube Ampeg head, but it is not at all on the same philosophy. I play the instrument very different: an acoustic bass equipped with a sensor david pledge realist, a Lower fender jazz bass special frettless japan from 1986, it is equipped with a passive micro precision and a Jazz and a sandberg fretted with the same config micro but I use mainly actif.Le TC makes it sound either all these instrument.

I think this is an amp that can suit the style of music asset because it actually preserves the characteristic of the instrument that connects. most of the equalization is so effective that we do what we want.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since February 10, 2012 So five months to date. I tried a dozen brands of diverse amp is the only one who rang my bass and my basses as well for that weight. UTILIZATION

Despite the many functions, the configuration of the RH450 is simple and the manual available online in several languages ​​(including French) is accurate (and for once it is useful).
The main functions are accessible: gain with peak indicator, 4-band EQ and TubeTone can sculpt the sound.
By pressing the shift button you can access functions to more advanced: a compressor (which works), setting frequency and volume of EQ presets.
The tuner works continuously, it is as practical as a handheld tuner when it engages the mute mode.
Easily obtained a good sound and the settings are very effective.

After several hours of use, it is always as intuitive. I notice that the race was almost ineffective Master to the first stop. But hey, no one buys a powerful amp to play 1 / 10 volume (or when using the headphone output !)...

SOUNDS

Frankly versatile, I got all kinds of sound I was looking for. (Blues, jazz, rock, funk, rhythm'n'blues, reggea), the treble is clear.
I have not managed to find one for his slap right away (in a 1 / 2 H, so little time), but there are many videos with that amp slappeurs. TubeTone allows the sounds or even saturated fats by pushing a little. Without TubeTone was defined sounds great but not really hi-fi: the RH450 is really a small grain.

OVERALL OPINION

I tested and compared with a stack MarkBass Little Mark Tube for 3 / 4 of an hour. So I tried the MarkBass, of Ashdown, Trace of Eliot, the EBS, SWR, Ampeg's, the EDEN, the Hiwatt, Fender and ...............

I chose the TC as I search the versatility and the head is ultra-versatile and intuitive: I have found many of the sounds I need in seconds. Also the build quality is as good sound quality.
However it is unfortunate to offer only three presets on an amp as versatile.

That's an opinion (a little) more objective than what can be found on the manufacturer's website and in the mags.

Gain (with clip lights to determine the highest possible input, ultra-convenient), bass, low mid, high mid, treble, Tubetone (simulator lamp, the higher you go, the more the sound is distinctive and warm up to saturation), and master. Once the "shift" under way, there is a compressor, the frequency setting in the center of each tone control, and the preset level, since it can store up to 3.

I put 8 as some little extras for bassists boring (given the quality of this amp is its public!) As a parallel effects loop with mix mix effects were not bad at all!

Cort Artisan A4 Fretless and Fender Deluxe Active Precision Mexican.
Since I use this amp, I do not play as the cort: the fender is actually much more punchy, but also messy when the cort is ultra precise. And this amp is great out the character of the bass on which we play is striking.

What kind of sound you get and with what settings ("crystalline", "bold ",....)?

For me, slamming and very accurate, but rather dug up in the medium, and boosted by the Tubetone for a more aggressive side, without going to the point of saturation.

Expensive, but not in more for a amp of this quality there is doing it for 1500 euros for the entire head + 1 speaker (the 212 for me). Soon 500 more to baffle January 2, 2000 or in total. UTILIZATION

Extremely easy to use.

The equalization is impeccable and precise, no worries about that.
The tube emulation is quite impressive, very warm sound, not even offer a saturation of the most beautiful effect.
