OVERALL OPINION

After a year of use, I'm still very satisfied. I was not able to try other model before the GT range and was not intuitive enough for my taste.
For the brand, I followed a BOSS brand that I knew well already ...

I love the diversity in a single block pedal for a low price (it is available from 100-150 EURO used today)

Now, one of the best pedals pedalboard consists in EVERY area, the TOP but much more expensive. I do not regret my choice

I bought the unit off the internet from Merchant City Music, who are based up in Glasgow. Very help bloke on the phone made the purchase nice and easy - pedal arrived the next day!

Its built well, has loads of really neat little features like the Kick drum, which allows you to set a beat going which you can jam along too. It has varoius sampling functions. You can save your favorite settings as patches and use the foot stiches to navigate stright to them. You can save 20 of these. It has an on board tuner. Man what doesn't it do?

There's nothing really not to like? It does the job of all the individual Boss bass pedals all rolled into one. If you can spend the cash go for this pedal, it has all the tweekability of the individual pedals. Plus if you buy all them separately it'll cost a lot more, and would be far more clumsey. Err, can you tell i'm a fan of the unit?!

Excellent. Solid tough BOSS standard really. Can't see myself breaking it, might be a diffent story if the drummer got hold of it.

This is one great pedal. It does just about everything bar cook my tea. Endless tweekable sounds and settings. One can find your favorite sound then save it.

This small multi effects boss includes all the essential effects of bassist warned!
phaser, flanger, distortion, reverb, chorus, wah-wah, Octaver, synth bass, delay, are all parameters, function as super cool keeping score, the function kik drum, it really tear this multi purpose!
and sounds of hell! I had the Vbass for 3 years, I sold to buy the ME50B in feffet Audible quality issue is not photo, great boss!

UTILIZATION

The most intuitive multi effects for bass that I could get my hands to this day!
really very simple to configure, c really think that you do not take the head on stage and everything is available under the feet! The only downside is the requirement to purchase an external pedal to change banks patches cre (30euros the pedal)

J'hesit with gt6b, but the only difference being the connectors and simulation of low damplis I jpreferer the me50b, very disappointed because I t modeling amp / bass of my vbass I Judge useless!

if not super excited about this product, I have 10 years of stage experience, I always look for a good multi purpose, without ever having to find just the basics I use all of sk ltemps, namely compressor / EQ / effects in this pedal, I just found my happiness and besides its sounds very very good, big sound ^ ^

Indeed there is at what it takes: chorus, reverb, delay, distortion, synth, octave, phaser, flanger, wah-wah ... with lots of possible combinations of different effects.
The sound just be treated by one of the compressors (simulation of various well-known compressors), the frequencies can be filtered (mid-shape, bottom boost, noise gate)
The user can save up to 24 "presets", each "preset" corresponding to a combination of effects with their setup. The transition from one effect to another is facilitated by the use of three footswitches.
The right pedal is a volume pedal / expression.
The effects can not be edited on a PC, the connection does not transfer data from one device to another
In terms of connectivity there is an auxiliary input + (in minijack, convenient to connect your PC is an MD and work alone on one song), if two outputs (some effects emerge in stereo), and if not taken other to add or footswitch pedal volume / expression further.
Against small problem: the AC adapter is not supplied, it must buy cot!! It's a little abuse but good. (Especially since the power consumption of the device is not negligible) But hey, no problem to buy it separately it is found everywhere.

UTILIZATION

The unit is very easy to use, very intuitive, the manual (in English) is very thorough without making 15,000 pages. There are also some useful functions as a tuner, which, although not super super accurate, can still be used occasionally and the "kick drum" sound that simulates a regular battery.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are really successful, although a few tend to rule if they were messing around too quickly (saw, square and sometimes distortion). My favorites are the compressor / limiter, chorus / reverb / delay and phaser. The Octavers are also very successful, they sound very "synthetic" but their sound is added to the original bass sound without the mask, giving the music a more "voice", the result is really not bad. The "sound hold" that can "take" a note at infinity is funny, to show off occasionally.
Overall, the combined effects of multiple cool effects that can be used from time to time, and indispensable, that enhance the rendering of the sound without distorting it.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall I think it's a very good multi-purpose. Although it is a bit expensive but worth its price. I tried a few models before you buy (and individual pedals) and I think it's a good product. I'm really not disappointed.

It is a very complete pedalboard for finding good bass sound
everything is digital but using in manual mode is almost like a small pedal use separ (mode I use all the time ca n rje's TPAS need a different 50mille)

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use manual is clear (when you take the time to read)
I use it primarily in terms of modulation and filter efect, my big muff distortion being a Russian I use the distortion effects for the synthes

Surprising that little pedal, I find a foot long, which allowed me to dispense with all the amp simulation, well I find it's all what is asked and as a major.

So I bought a few days ago ... I had been warned that the ME 50 B would be quite complicated, and it would take me some time to master the many settings ... True, it takes at least a good 10 minutes! Seriously, the editing effect is really quite simple and a good manual for completeness but not boring with good!

SOUND QUALITY

I was amazed by the quality of the effects, really saw the bass I use (Hartke a base that I bought in pack ...) The distortion remains bright even in the grave is reached), although separating each note. So why a small 8? Well part Synth leaves something to be desired, perhaps it is because my bass is a real shit!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a week and I'm really happy with my purchase! I tried several multi-effects before (10 Korg AX b, Zoom 708 II) and it's worth to the price (285 euros anyway) What I like most is the distortion with a hint of phaser, it's terrible! Otherwise Boss would still be able to provide the AC adapter (optional 23 euros ... I bought the adapter Zoom to 11 euros) I would do without hesitation that choice! Do not let your guitar do the show, you buy a BOSS ME B!

UTILIZATION

Regarding the use is very well thought out and very effective, this feature of the pedals in succession single effects pedal is all you need for a bass.

In addition there is no need to return to the popup menus with sub menus to access the setting of individual parameters for all is set directly in facade with knobs.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are effective there is little that the "Synth" that are not top but anyway I do not see the usefulness of such an effect for low (and about me).

OVERALL OPINION

As a whole, and knowing that there are only two weeks that I have the beast, this pedal is all you need for a bassist who is looking for a whole range of effects of good quality and sufficient quantity.
This multi purpose includes all essential effects of low and there is also rab with effects that are only used when we want to make funny noises!

Clearly there is everything you need and even more, the functionality of cascading simple pedal is great and responsive to bass (which do not need 50 different sound patches), its price is reasonable given that that it offers and especially the ease of use and tuning knobs for direct facade.
I am very pleased with this investment and I think to be filled knowing that has everything it takes to find the groups that I listen to sounds, because for a bass player there is not need a lot of effects really useful and they all are.
And ease of use can very quickly narrow down the desired sound.

it's crazy, I read a lot about this multi effects, and I took it out of the box, not read the manual as not in French anyway and hop, the bass plugged in, just adjust the volume is identical or bypass it.

The Boss ME-50B is a multi effects guitar pedal that has just about everything guitar effect you can think of. It has 1/4 inch inputs and outputs and is powered by the power supply that comes with it. It is not a rackable unit as it is a floor guitar processor.

UTILIZATION

The general configuration of the MD-50B is pretty easy to follow, even though there are a ton of different parameters that control all sorts of effects. If you are familiar with the type of effects that are in this unit, you shouldn't have a problem figuring out what everything does. You can make your own presets and the expression pedal comes in handy for using the wah and filter effects, as well as for using the whammy setting. The manual is complete and is definitely helpful when learning this unit.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound quality of the effects varies across the unit, as there are a huge array of different effects. The pedal is split into a few different sections - one for compression that has the basic parameters for a compressor as well as a knob for choosing different types of compression. It then has a filter section with a huge variety of different filter effects and then has a drive and synth section with different distortions, overdrives and synth sounds. To me it seems a bit strange to put these two effects within the same section, but it works out okay. The next section is a modulation and delay section with all a reverbs, a few delays, a chorus, flanger, and a phaser, among other things. The expression pedal can be to control a few different things as well as a great tool for this pedal. While all of the sounds are pretty usable, none will blow you out of the water or sound as good as individual stomp boxes would. This being said, it is great to have all of these effects in one spot and great for learning what kinds of sounds you are after.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Boss ME-50B for about four years. While I don't use it all that much because I have individual pedals that have most of the effects on this, it is useful when I need all of these effects in one place that I can carry around and use easily. The price is really cheap considering all of the effects you are getting, and Boss has a good reputation when it comes to guitar pedals. If you are looking for a multi effects guitar pedal, this is absolutely worth a look.
