UTILIZATION

Very easy to use. An effective mix knob (if you just want to be stronger chorus for example).

SOUND QUALITY

This is a volume pedal that is his job. I have not noticed any loss of income mentioned in other reviews.

OVERALL OPINION

I have over 4 years. This is my first volume pedal, simple, reliable, and efficient. I've never used the expression pedal so I do not know.
It there's probably other volume pedals more elaborate but it meets my needs, and very strong at that. That's all we ask.
Value, I think it's still expensive pedal seen this type of use, but it sells for a small fee.
I would do this choice without doubt.

Just to clarify that this pedal which is placed at the very beginning of the chain requires no power supply. This is what 'm allowed to place out of my pedalboard.
The pedal is 27 cm long, it're built in a thick aluminum chassis that inspires confidence.

UTILIZATION

The goal was to find the thrill of controlling whammy pitch a Boss PF6 the tonic to its second octave. Stereo jack turns required to use the FV 500h as expression pedal. We read on the pedal and not the manual which should be somewhere in the box.
Once the foot on the pedal it feels good and of course there are stable landmarks throughout the race, which for a whammy emulation is almost too much!
A screw can play on the length of the race course, but mechanically it works.
The potentiometer located on the edge of the pedal decides when hooking of the pedal with respect to its stroke. This subtle adjustment in my case, will be of no use, because it is in the wider band that I blossomed. But it is a setting option.

SOUND QUALITY

For some expression pedal sound module depends on which you are connected.

OVERALL OPINION

I realized my project with an old Roland EV-5 which was home I do not know how. But the latter, although I had not smaller inspired no confidence, because all plastic and I weigh more than 85 kg with two broken before Cry Babys, I could not think seriously put my foot, even with all my weight on such a frail craft, especially in concert or sometimes I play dangerously with my sense of balance. The boss is just the opposite, she did not quite over.

Extensive pedal, minimum volume knob (can vary from a volume "rhythmic" pedal fully raised and a volume "solo" with the pedal fully down, for example), tuner output (allows you to tune silently in particular) , and an output for use in expression pedal.

Constructed of aluminum, it is very strong and not too heavy.
Quite large on the other hand.

UTILIZATION

Please note, a small portion of the pedal stroke which is useless (the first centimeters do not sound). Not inherently annoying either, except for those who pinaillent.

I use it in front of my amp (at the end of my chain effect) to manage my volume and my gain.

SOUND QUALITY

Transparent.

OVERALL OPINION

Not much to complain about.

Expensive for what it is, but still less than Ernie Ball which is not the best job.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use, to connect between the instrument and the amp.

SOUND QUALITY

Good pedal for the guitar and studied but there is a loss (slight) grain when using the pedal for volume. less dynamic Damned.

On the contrary, in use as expression pedal to increase a delay or reverb: excellent accuracy of the race. Too fun!

Personally I use it only in expression pedal (except that it is the model in stereo).

OVERALL OPINION

I used it two weeks and loss of grain (low but hey we will not pay some great guitars and amps lose grain) G. ...... me! So I sold it.

In short it is a very good pedal in price / quality ratio is excellent for an amateur user or semi-pro. Nothing to say about the expression pedal to work effect, precision and comfort.

The Boss FV-500H is a passive volume pedal from Boss for use with mono input sources. It features a single input jack, a single output jack, a jack for use as an expression pedal, a silent tuner out, and a knob for setting the minimum volume. The pedal measures 29” by 11.4” by 4.4” so it is quite large and takes up a considerable amount of space on a pedal board.

UTILIZATION

The Boss FV-500H has a heavy duty aluminum dicast body that will stand up to just about anything. They put the Boss name on this so you probably knew this beforehand, but this thing is probably the strongest made volume pedal you’ll find. It has a ultra smooth pedal movement and is very comfortable and easy to control. The torque of the pedal can be adjusted to the user’s preferred pedal feel and the rubber on the foot pedal makes sure your foot is secure and won’t be slipping around while in use. A silent tuner out allows you to roll back the volume and tune without annoying the crowd during gigs and a minimum volume knob allows you adjust how quiet the pedal can go all the way down to completely nothing.

SOUND QUALITY

I have noticed no change in tone quality when using this pedal and it doesn’t introduce any unwanted noise. The Ernie Ball offering definitely rolled off some of my high end. You can go from clean to dirty if it’s in front of your amp, or as a more dramatic volume only alteration when it’s in your effects loop. I like to do volume swells and violin like passages, and the taper on this pedal work well for that when the minimum volume is set to zero. I also like to use it in front of my dirty amp and set the minimum volume to a clean sound and then roll up and get the dirty tones. This method is nice when a smooth transition is need between clean and dirty instead of a quick change like you get from channel switching amps.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall I liked the Ernie Ball version until I picked up the Boss volume pedal. The Boss pedal is huge in comparison, but is built to last a lot longer and incorporates a minimum volume knob. This is great for going between two different settings and not having to worry about over shooting it. I don’t use the expression pedal out, but that’s an added bonus too. With the Boss you also don’t have to worry about changing out the strings like you do on the Ernie Ball. The Boss also does not seem to suck as much tone off the high end as the Ernie Ball. The sound quality of the pedal is great and the feel is very smooth, the only downside is that this thing is massive in size. I have remedied this by carrying it along and setting it up alongside my pedal board and not having it mounted directly to the board to save real estate.
