I bought it in March 2014 a few months already, and had tried anything before, it was to fill the studio with real drums, and other VST drum appearing me too mechanical.
It's almost the first prize so no regrets but actually no disappointment, it sounds pretty with a sharp sound when tapped on the top or sound drum / snare because there is a set of strings pressed against metal the bottom. A deeper sound when tapped on the bottom, or rather in the middle, I would have liked even more serious but hey, for the price, eh? I wish I had a sound that is more accurate and reverberant, more "safe" anything, but again, at 38 € new, I'm far from disappointed.
Bonus: there is a large round hole in the back so you can tweak, put a cushion inside to felt, or miscellaneous items to change the resonance and sound, even find the cat inside.
For the price which could be that of a toy, it was good wood tree, proper finishing, plastic feet on the ground to secure even asking only forward, and release her.
With experience, I would do this choice because I'm not a percussionist and that enough for me to humanize some parts of my percussion / drums.
