UTILIZATION

- The general configuration is it simple?

Relatively, except the EQ looks like anything but an EQ. It's kind of a hack rather than an original in its way ...

- Editing sound effects is easy?

No simple approach

- The manual is clear and sufficient?

Yes, I think!

SOUND QUALITY

- Effects are they effective, responsive and realistic enough?

Effective yes, but in the wrong direction, specifically the effects are rather vague. Must boost the emulation to the bottom to have some kind of result and again it's pretty rough.
The expander degrades the sound if you set the release to a minimum.
The compressor is not too bad but unfortunately tends to drop with heavy use.

The EQ is probably the worst in the preamp, it is better not to touch it, the risk is to get a lot of noise and alot of  mouth noise or alot of gain or lose some of the frequency spectrum of the low mediums.

Please note that Vintage Harmonic to a room tend to add a lot of sharp too!

The remarks of the EQ and Vintage Harmonics are correct more on condenser microphones. The rendering is better on dynamic mics.

The DE ESSER does not work too badly.

- Which instruments do you use?

As the name suggests, it is used specifically for the voice.

- Which aspects do you like, you hate?

I hate the main EQ and Expander. Without saying that I love it, I would say that the compressor is a bit level, and emulation Lamp boost also a bit messy, but adds the presence (if you push it to the max and it does not loose ...)

As it should be noted that currently the 15 preamp that I saw, with regular daily use the compressor and tube sound let go of some of them.

€ 579 including VAT for a Swiss Army knife of very average quality, I think you need to buy a good quality preamp with fewer options of all kinds ...

- With experience, you would repeat again this choice? ...
Certainly not, I like Focusrite, but certainly not on this model with an interface design to see very "bling bling" (emulation lamp looks like a disco, it's pretty funny) finally all this to hide a preamp of very questionable quality.

Cf answer: You're right the manufacturer notes that it is an analog preamp, however I encourage to open one, you'll see that everything is not as it seems.

In fact I have rarely seen a completely analog preamp to a kind of grasillement starts this way?

After I did not drop the equipment for pleasure, for the price it could hardly be better, since some preamps with stories of similar treatments worth € 3 / 4000 euros. There is a reason that is simple, the quality is incomparable.

Now for my taste I prefer to invest the same money on a better quality preamp least loaded processing stage and do the rest with plugins for the studio. Why not live, it can always break, better rendering of the dynamic mic (SM58 etc ...)
