UTILIZATION

Quick and easy, but Tascam, think like Tascam ...

Routing trs complete (for me one of the most important on the console) and DAW control trs well.

SOUNDS

converters correct for this type of console and trs good value ...
pramp a fair bit.
Reliable and dynamic eq.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this console in recent years with a dj 8IN/8OUT analog card and a Firewire card, I'm telling trs!
it has great potential in terms of routing it allows me all the connections that I need in my studio.
trs sound decent for the price!

The Tascam DM 3200 feels and sounds great. I love the routing flexibility that can be stored in the presets. The integration with software is great. However, there are a few minor bugs that still need to be worked out between Sonar 5.2 and the control page.

UTILIZATION

All in all they took the functionality of the DM-24 and made it better. The REMOTE layer is perfect for DAW use. Simple to set-up--easy to use. We swapped the FIREWIRE and ADAT cards (from the DM-24) right into our console with no issues. (NOTE: We had purchased a later model FIREWIRE card that has jumper options to allow it to work in either the DM-24 or DM-3200.)

SOUNDS

Sounds Great, love the effects and filters. It will work with virtually any style of music that you create. Plus Tascam offers great support on the phone if you need to troubleshoot or just have some questions.

OVERALL OPINION

The Tascam DM 3200 is great (OSX). The new companion software is useful and responsive. It provides individual channel metering if you did not purchase the meterbridge as well as the ability to save/backup configurations on your PC. Navigation is better and overall and functionality is much more intuitive (than the DM-24). Its pretty expensive but if you can afford it I say go with it, I am thankful that we have one of these on hand at the university for me to use on a personal level. I will purchase one of these one day for my home set up. Once you learn the logic behind the routing, you can make it do anything you want it to do. I use Cubase 5 with it and a modest PC and I haven't had one problem with the combination since. You can't go wrong if you buy this unit. It makes recording very easy and sounds great. You really need to buy the firewire card for 32 channel I/O.

Cettte rack console is not installed but can be embedded maintained by the wrists. I also states that the cuffs are plastic imitation wood. This does not detract from the quality of the console.

She has all kinds of connections on the back: XLR microphone jack line and insert the 16 channels it is mainly inputs. It does not have analog outputs for channels but it is not a handicap unless you're still using an old multitrack magnetic tape. This type of output is more utililisée to air digital. the magneto to send digital or computer are respectively SPDIF or Firewire. it says 4 inputs / outputs are available to assign what you want (onstage, headphones departures, effects ... etc.)

She works with 24-bit 4-level sampling 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96khz so it is possible to achieve
a very good definition of sound and can collect large saturation levels which may be useful in live applications.

An effects section is built into the console with two sources. one designed by TASCAM TC ELECTRONIC another pat. The effects are very good quality and personalized with much paramettres.



UTILIZATION

In terms of ergonomics, an adaptation period is needed to understand the logic of screens, the button layout and multi mode (compactness required)
But once the environment is understood as happiness, keys to access main functions can be programmed.
After setting the screen in dedicated communication with the DAW (digital audio workstation) is no problem.
The manual is clear but succinct sometimes. A separate manual is dedicated to automation is well designed and comprehensive.


SOUNDS

The converters are of very good quality and preserve the natural sound.
While it is always useful to ulises a preamp dedicated to voice recording, this console has a preamp input of good quality.

The TASCAM DM 3200 has nothing to do it is another world.

What I like most is his versatility, ergonomics.

What I like least is the screen! It is very fragile and too small for a console that level as well as for all functions parmetrage the screen is a clear interface. Without it, the console is unusable because no output to an external screen has been anticipated.

Aside from this defect, we are dealing with a console of very good quality at a very reasonable price.

I would do this choice without a doubt, especially since I believe that a solution to the screen is about to be found and not by Tascam.

The table has imposing dimensions, including depth (90cm excluding depths XLR). If she has a profile of mixer classic, it is stylish with its brushed aluminum face, on the other hand little less wood on the sides which are actually plastic and paint with wear fake wood is released.

The manual is a bit limited for some functions, do not hesitate to download all types of jobs following modes and update firmware. The band sold 800 € Meters is not necessary, I myself opt for a screen with remote software that lets you see TASCAM COMPANION levels.

UTILIZATION

Transparent converters, filters and effective treatment although obviously we can not concurencer equipment specific hardware. I spend all my tracks in tube preamps + external compressor before sending in the tascam.

SOUNDS

Use for 1 year and a half. I like the simplicity of use, comfort knobs and buttons that are not as tight as other models. For my part unbeatable value for money since I bought the console interface YEAR SLOT + 1 + 2 + SLOT ADAT interface external sound card RME FIREFACE 800 for 2400 euros! (Price new 2800 + 400 + 450 + 1200: almost 5000 euros!)
Given my current setup, I will not purchase a digital console for the simple reason that I turn all my channels in the tube preamp and compressor top flight before going into the tascam, rather go on a surface control for DAW with RME soundcards (which converters simply amazing!)

Very good product versatile, flexible and professional
