I bought the studio recorder through the Internet, in a store in The Netherlands. Their price was very compatible for Europe, 1,299.00 Euro's; add about 20% to get the Dollar price (that might be different again tomorrow...). We, DAIRYBEAT, a hobby band, have started to record our own cd: 'The Attick Sounds'.

The recorder and I needed a couple of days of getting used to each other and me going through the manual. I blamed the recorder for not working properly, but it blamed me not reading properly; the recorder was right! Now we're getting on like a dream. Precise recording without clipping, lots of effects to choose from and a very good sound.

I ordered the recorder in The Netherlands, where we speak Dutch, but it only came with an English manual! So I had to follow a speedy English course before I could start using the unit, but I now also hold an English degree! Apart from that, no dislikes.

I have no complaints on construction and quality of the unit.

I have a dream of selling one of my songs to a big artist or a Record Company. If that dream will come true, I will be forever in debt to my Korg.

The USB and more from the D1600? There are no pictures, it does nothing more (this is exactly the same bike) because with the integrated burner and a CDR-RW you transfer everything you want on your PC and vice versa and , and at least you do not have problems with crashes so dear to our beloved PC. No need to have a bike like if it is to look for E. s. ... You have everything at hand, and here, it's not virtual!

The material is hyper serious, reliable, ergonomically designed to the maximum, and much easier than AW-16 competitor, with whom you spend more time in the user manual on the bike. The config is the crap (you still have to eat it), so easy and affordable! A manual with hyper clear that! I'm not a very very old in the homestudio, but it's very intuitive, very logical in all phases of recording, without taking the lead.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been a few months I have, and I think to keep a lot of time. I confess that I find it difficult to part with it. The dimensions are very honest, without falling into the gadget to 4kg. and fragile. Super chassis inside; IDE Hard Drive (40 GB) that can change in 2 minutes to the biggest, though it is not necessary; of 8x8x32 burner drawer too. What you ask for? I dare not say what I had before, would not it be nice! with a good flycase for lugging in rehearsal (I drooled every time, pleasure, yes). In price / quality ratio? simple: UNBEATABLE! And then, looking good, we find at a good price, new (it's solid). Resale? no problem, as the IS of the stew! It's so sought after!

UTILIZATION

The general configuration is very good, although of course it takes some getting used to.
This is where action comes into the touch screen because it allows you to "walk" so nice on the different views available without going so far as the knob and arrow keys.
Great opportunity to record "Scenes". Indeed, I write songs that are sometimes very long and in which several subjects follow, so different settings. The faders are not motorized, the scenes can, through faders graphics, doing this.
The scenes, in addition, both record volume levels that effect settings.
Functions are as brilliant as the "scrub" which, when assembling pieces, to see precisely the beginning of the game you want to change (shown in waveform on the screen), the " bland track "that increases or decreases the sound automatically.
Not talking about the editing features on the tracks (copy, move, delete etc. ....).
In short, this machine offers real possibilities, and the result is obtained after, of course, some "blunders" due to the adaptation time of the machine, is really surprising.
I would put just a little flat on the effects, because using them is not very easy.

SOUNDS

Nothing to say ... it's clean, clean, burr-free.
I use for my part, a tube preamp and a compressor (which is not a requirement with the D1600!). This allows me to focus on other effects available on the Korg. I used an earlier 8 tracks with Roland COSM effects simulation unique to that manufacturer.
Korg has the same thing, called REMS, and I have noticed that generally, the Korg effects are much more "soft" effects Roland, who, for some, generate breath.
Using only the keyboard sounds, the Korg is more "soft" and therefore more pleasing to the ear.
Nevertheless, the result is at the top, the momentum is there, and the converters are absolute discretion.
In addition, the effects can be adjusted to the "quarter-haired"

OVERALL OPINION

It is a machine that brings great pleasure to create and use.
There is nothing to throw on Korg!. Nice build quality, comfortable use, excellent, brand reputation ... and finally, a price after all very interesting since it is possible to negotiate this beautiful toy in about 1300/1400 Euros.
A cost that may seem important, but still more than adequate to the results that can be drawn.
Of course, now after 3 months of use, it is not even possible for me to use another recorder, and yes, 40 brushes, it focuses on things!!
TESTED EMERGENCY

Eeuuuuhh ... Does everything said. It's going very well except that 16 inputs and simultaneous rec shook better, but for that price .... TOP TOP home. Top hard drive, except that the conection as four XLR better and more squeezed (celon the need). Very well done for the price and capabilities, no matter what at least one outlet to do more shod not hurt ... And especially the faders motoriss ... Otherwise the scenes There's fortunately they are also top and therefore it can well do without motoriss faders, but hey (when it will replace all alone it's better, but that even if the fader and pan are in the wrong position when you recall a scene, the sound comes out as if the fader, pan, effect, eq, etc. taient in the position the stage shows ... But, even on the SSL 9000 the pan, the insert, and the eq does not reposition themselves when it is still worth several million dollars but it's not on a DIGITAL COUNTERS, (but good for the price c ' is not bad at all in Korg) ...
If it had motorized faders + the spectrum display for the eq and at least 8 outputs (one for each track mini), plus a compressor on each slice (roughly 8 is missing), I wants to add 750 euros more ...
The touch screen is also handy, and 8 insert (8 rec mix and 8) plus 2 master plus a final, it's going well ... More output to ...

UTILIZATION

Configuration super intuitive and fast. Function very accessible.Le manual is clear but it lacks the French version for a ....( dtail verssion MK2).
The usb it helps a lot to transfer the tracks on a computer ... A little long but you get done ...

SOUNDS

Nothing to say on the conversion, it's going very well. Filters and effects are ffective but effects are somewhat bizard has set times if their quality is good. The momentum is good but sometimes I find small (it must be me who mix wrong sometimes). Anyway APRS over a year of use I get probably a little too critical ...... and just be a little deaf too .... .... ....

OVERALL OPINION

Terrible was nothing wrong with respect to its competitors. This is the top of its range, for me anyway.
If he could have 16 simultaneous compressors for example, and afficahge spectrum (as well as faders motoriss but RVer should not either), this digital recorder pressed perfect for less than 1500 euros.
But even without these features, to my taste is the most interresting quality / price ratio.
Now a days I'd rather save that for better (it's a matter of need), but there is more than a year I referrer (in fact I'm not ready for me spare, I m ' used in every day with pleasure, I found every day other possibilities).
I find this Bécanne perfect for personal use or for a small band that does not require more than 8 inputs ... eg: battery 4, a low, gtr 1, a synth and a voice ... (simultaneously)

L is in my opinion the most from Korg, the dynamic is pffff, I tried that same game product price (boss, yamaha, zoom) and Korg and is well above c ' certaienement is on the TRS of the game must be better but can make good models trs,
cts fact, the same highlights korg effect numbers, but be aware that not all are usable and configuaration following the recording was not really a choice for accsa all effects should be recorded track by track, do not make the choice of studio effects for guitar and voice are beurrrk, the effect of mixing is good and sufficient

I just buy OCCAZ, I use it for about 2 months.
It is compact and lightweight so great for transportation, it has become the essential tool of my repetition group, and if only one cares for the microphonics with this machine, repeat it often mock!
