I use it with or without my laptop (hp core 2 duo 7350, on the move or at home.
I spend directly on his side to the recording console, a happiness!
It's very convenient not to be enslaved to a fixed installation. Eg go to a room where you repeat and back, recover files on the software in a standard format for rework.
8 inputs eases the work of the catch, was not to disconnect each time the track you want to save. Against the passage by 9 to 16 requires a bit of attention. But it's like for all devices, when everything is focused!

But I appreciate that the file format is standard, that can easily recover the audio of each track for the work under other programs or music videos.
For the latency I am unable to get an accurate picture. Insofar as the audio files are used in software is a problem that's hard to soft for me.

Of course I use cubase lignt that comes with. Do not miss a step in the installation for the specific format zoom appear in the software.
In terms of ZOOM, you have to know the little buttons that move in the trees. A little learning is required as to all!

After going through a tascam and a big fat KORG D3200, I finally opted for this little all-in-a summary.
I use it personally for models quietly, I am content to a mac and garage band with a small condenser microphone Prodipe taken for guitar / voice + a set of low-end in t-bone taken for battery. Bah, and it's fine with me Far from being an engineer, I just want equipment that allows me to get something listenable in a short time. The zoom is fine. By pushing it into a corner, I'm sure we can achieve results very nice if indeed that is somewhat comfortable with software mao a little more efficient.

I use it for a few months, I tested two other models before. Tascam a very basic, and a Korg compelxe for me too.
Excellent quality / price ratio: posted not far from € 550, I could bring it back around € 415 a little negotiating with the store manager. Great deal for the money, I do not at all want to part with it.

The 8 canaus input with phantom power supplies 6: the dream for a portable device.
I use it as an interface for mobile studio, combined with Cubase on a Macbook.
I associate exclusively with microphones for live recording overhead.

No major concern with six simultaneous tracks for phantom power supply (entries 3-8).
A latency of 0.5 seconds is noticeable when taken with a recorded track.

Simple installation, the interface is seen as the installation of related software.
A - however, noted recently: audio interface does not like being fed independently with the AC adapter supplied: this scenario generates saturation for each input (the crackling). This problem disappears when I leave the USB input power interface (from a Macbook itself on sector).

Knowing circumvent the problem on my installations, the equipment is easy to use and easy to implement. Especially easy to transport into a mobile studio.
I am very satisfied with the quality / price ratio.

Drivers on a PC without problems on XP
The software supplied with (Cubase LE 5) software is installed but the key is what she wants and I had to uninstall it and then put my Cubase SX 3 which works well.

Installation is all alone ...
The setup is simple, since neither nothing to configure.
You still have to follow the manual loan to avoid losing something.
And the manual is clear but not complete as always (you must know computer music)

I use it for 3 weeks and is getting better

I like the memory space and easily accessible 24 tracks
I do not like the fact that we can not assign an input jack to any track and change it without any disconnect.
The camera is great asses and they could have a bigger screen!
When we move from tracks 1-8 to 9-16, there is nothing to indicate the tracks recorded on 1-8

The price (450 €) is very correct with respect to overall quality.

As there are choices to be 24 tracks including 8 simultaneous inputs at this price, I advise to all.
