UTILIZATION
A black point of the synthesizer,

it provides a visual of all the parameters and allows to focus primarily on the sound (that is what was missing there over 20 years)
It provides a more clear FM, at the end or the DX7 has never really been exploited (even by Brian Eno)
I think there is still much to learn from him ...
SOUNDS
If one considers the fact that this instrument can create an almost infinite number of sounds,
it would still tend to have its own sound identity.
It may sound like no other aggressive, harsh, hoarse, but a rare softness, it emanates from beautiful copper color that no one can do
LFO sounds really great!
Major part of the result of the just programming expressiveness, and here it is incredible (see other sources for more details: aftertouch etc ...)
Basically, if we look at the Korg M1, sounds sound so largely because, as the expression is great ... (and yet it has no potential of a DX7 on this)
OVERALL OPINION
Have a DX7 crude demand to refer to the manual to enter the logic for this Yamaha synthesizer.
For the DX manager, not necessarily need the manual (have a sound vision for understanding much of its implementation)

in any case, it will once its logic controlled it be possible to design its own sound,
nothing instinctive and not control "live" on a DX7!
But it reached a very advanced level of accuracy on the programming of a patch,
other models go even further ...
The DX7 will remain an eternal myth, the synthesis technique makes it a timeless instrument!
