Last month I had the pleasure of borrowing a friend's Denon DN-MC6000 to play a show with and boy was it a blast. Having not settled on a favorite controller worth buying new, the MC6000 definitely surfaced as a viable candidate due to its very functional interface and portability. As the majority of the shows I play are on the road, I need a controller that can weather the storm in the back of a van packed with production equipment. The Denon MC6000 in its small-suitcase-sized black carrying case stood through the test. Once inside the event, I opened up the case into a full work-station - a very cool aspect of the product. The controller lay in the base of the case but was large enough to fill the space up to the rim of the opened container so that the buttons were fully visible from a profile view. The top half of the case then turned into two pieces - one that was removed and set aside and one that folded into a laptop stand above but set-back from the board itself. I allowed the device to act as an external sound-card and connected the decks directly to my speakers via XLR. The decks then connected to my computer via USB, all in a tight, compact set-up that left plenty of room in the bottom of the case in which to store excess cables. As for the performance, the decks couldn't have worked better. Apart from the lay-dancer coming up to the table just to gape at the fantastic array of colors on the board, the MC6000 truly shined with its uber sensitive jog-wheels, 4 channels, and completely customizable and extensive effects rack. All in all I would recommend the Denon DN-MC6000 to someone who, like myself, might prefer a smaller set-up to compliment their smaller stature. The only set-back is the financial aspect which comes out to around $800 for a new unit. After having used one for free I'm not sure if I want to buy this product new, but it is certainly competing valiantly.

I use it for 5 months now coupled with Traktor Pro 2.

I have a Hercules controller (must start with something) but really happy trs chip compared to the Denon and especially against the 2-way 4 of the Denon.

What I like is really the ergonomics and robustness.
One thing is INTERESTED use as a sound card as external mixer. Very easy to configure but you must follow the instructions exactly. The Maping on Traktor took me 20 seconds: click to import the file from Traktor, Traktor redmar and forward music.

Takes a good Journe to tour features makes case to get used to the BTE and Bonton.

I find the price more than reasonable for such good quality.
I could touch the S4 and frankly I am on my Denon.

What thing do you like most/least about it?
more: the fact that it is iron, not plastic like the S4 or the pioneer (at least it lives!) ergonomics and easier to grip (just makes sense), responsiveness, everything is clear and available wherever they need is very well organized! Tactile knobs but especially the small pots and buttons for browsing and loading tracks in traktor, really great. the quick search button in the tracks (not on the s4)

less: the precision of pitch is a bit lighter (it's not the pioneer), but attention is still very correct! and Knob lanes are a bit too close for my taste. The big negative is mostly TRAKTOR LE which comes with, what a beautiful ...!!!!!! m. it completely clamp performance (functionality and responsiveness) of the machine


What is your opinion about the value for the price?
IM-BA-TTABLE!


Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice? ...
hoooowayyyy! sometimes twice a day, I'm really happy with my controller, I think it's really an achievement compared to the cd and vinyl!

1 month and already mixed in the evening with a pure feast of course TRAKTOR PRO!

No, I pass timecode vynil (2 Technics SL1200 Mk2 + traktor scrat Duo)

* What thing do you like most/least about it?
a) overall product quality
b) electric power in addition to the USB (what other midi controller did not).
c) quality of buttons / faders
d) ease of navigation of audio tracks and effects and samples / cue / loop
e) the only midi controller to provide a complete control of the machine without a computer (very convenient when you do not want to mix in dvs system and simply connect the turntables cd / vinyl records and mix with the old one)
f) adjustment of 2 microphones with effects

* What is so special that you like least?
the jog wheel is good to very good but a bit small in diameter.
there are 2 modes: scratch (center of the jog wheel) and the pitch mode on the sides of the jog wheel (a bit like the Pioneer CDJ).
So you tell me 'why I criticize jogwheel "simply because I was mixing with vinyl records and nothing else can replace the pleasure of handling turntables!

Correct price for the quality of the product. A repeat without hesitation! The future already looks increasingly towards an all in one solution and this especially for mobile dj, moving fairly Souvant like me and not being too trusting of the material event organizers / clubs (prob cell vynil, problem connecting / disconnecting cables). Midi controller that connects via a simple RCA cable and plugs into the power and the laptop and go for a mix!
