Made in the USA, body and mahogany table, beautiful, but fragile as unglazed. No frills (including binding) but it gives it a very nice rawness to my goput. I since 2009, she patina with age, beautiful.
Attention similar model in Sapele, I do not know what it's worth (never tried).

UTILIZATION

Quite thick handle but still fun to play for those who love fine sleeves (like me). Stable tuning, mechanical age well.

SOUNDS

Its very distinctive, blues rather dull, with rich bass. I found the sound a little too dull to start with the strings Martin: I Ride Elixir strings that provides a more balanced his hair with a bit of shine, but not too much (it is not Takamine or Taylor).

OVERALL OPINION

I for 5 years, this guitar is a great value for money; I bought € 890 in 2009 to see his new price today, I rather feel that it is a bargain. And the patina of time it succeeds beautifully. Probably not the most comfortable dreadnought, but a feast for the eyes and ears.

My Martin is all mahogony with no finish -- i use d'addario lights phosphor bronze strings. i fell in love with this guitar a long time before i purchased it because of it's deep resonant quality, natural look, and very full, rich acoustic sound. i've been playing music since i was a kid. i started on piano then guitar. i'm a solo artist now but have played with other really amazing musicians off and on. my sound is folk fusion -- earthy, joni mitchell-ish, a bit of indigenous flavor here and there.

i bought this beautiful guitar in New Mexico about 5 years ago at Music Go Round in Albuquerque. I was lucky to find it and get it for $500.00 -- it was a steal. a friend of mine, a wonderful guitarist and bassist, spotted it and told me about it and i ran (actually drove) down there and grabbed it. yeah, i owe him one!

my guitar has the best acoustic sound of any guitar i've ever heard. the bass really comes out fully and the highs are clear and bright.

i have to really mess with the eq to get it to sound good plugged in. not that that's a bad thing -- but it took me a while to figure out how to get it to sound clear and bright thru the sound board.

the mahogony is so sweet you can almost kiss it -- ok, so i have kissed it -- geeesh. don't make fun of me. you would to, if your guitar was as good to you as mine is to me. beautiful fret board -- stays in tune great but only likes d'addario strings.

If you've ever put your hands on the deliciousness of a martin d-15, you probably fell under it's spell, too. Just gotta have one!

I Bought this D-15 at Guitar Center for
590 Dollars. I have been wating a new guitar for a long time.

It sounds very good and pure. Very Playable
and easy to hold. The Finger Board has very good action. Rosewood Fingerboard
Keeps Tune very well.

Its the best guitar for begening students and pros. Very affordable for a good guitar.

Recently, I had the misfortune of buying a vintage 1967 Gibson J-45 which had a cracked head. The luthier did an excellent job with the repair, but it was left with a rather flat tone and minimal resonance.

Luckily, an independent music shop in Atlanta, GA was willing to take it off my hands for credit. That is when I saw the Martin D-15.

With the trade-in, I payed a mere $175 plus tax.









Likes: Solid mahogony body, with satin finish, with a simple herringbone ring around the center. It plays as well as my D-28, which I recently gave to my father for his birthday. The hard case was the kicker. Very well padded, green, & fuzzy. It fit inside quite snug.


Dislikes: The SP+ stings take a minute to break in, giving the unit a brassy sound.
And, all my friends want to play it.

Solid mahgony body, headstock, and solid head. Two piece back. Tortoise shell, teardrop pick guard. Herringbone rossette.
Satin finish. 20 frets. Silver tuning machines. Both fingerboard & side position dots. Lightweight. Happy.

Kudos to Martin for finally making "poor man's" guitars (priced under $1000) once again! This sentiment was expressed by the Martin rep, who coincidentally was at the shop while I was.

I bought this unit at the guitar center in the oxford valley,Pa. area. I bought this guitar
because the salesman showed me this unit and told me for the price you cant beat it.
I paid $599.00 for this guitar no case.

I like the warm tones you get from this acoustic guitar. the mahogany top gives it a beautiful
warm sound. I do not like bright acoustic guitars.

I had some buzzing when i first bought the guitar but that was easily fixed upon purchase.

has a mahogany top, this unit has an extremly light body and heavier neck.

For the price this acoustic guitar kicks butt!! If you appreciate warm tones from an acoustic
guitar you will like this piece. I played higher priced taylors that didn't sound as good
as this martin. back for buck, this guitar is wonderful and I would buy it again.
