Shure Beta 57
Advised to record the snare, but used for lead vocals. An excellent compromise and value for money, equivalent to Sennheiser E855, unfortunately no longer available for sale.

A careful choice to replace 2 Sennheiser E855 that had outlived their usefulness and no longer produced by the manufacturer ... strange!

Singers to voice heavy and oily, this microphone offers comfort ... and clearer voice.

I highly recommend it for that use.

Shure Beta 57
Hypercardioid Dynamic Microphone dedicated to voice, brass and percussion.

I have 3 years and uses it for recording snare drums and the voice repeated.
The sound has made a lot of presence. By comparison, it is much clearer than a SM57 but less soft and warm that AKG D190.
It has a very high output level (higher than SM57, an AKG D190 or a Beyer Dynamic M101) and cash of very high sound pressure.
For my part I find it a bit "cold". For this reason I prefer an AKG D190 even if it is less responsive at high frequencies (> 9kHz).
For info it is very robust.
I bought it used from € 70 I think it's an excellent value for money.
