This is a Musicman Stingray 2001, rosewood fingerboard and 3 eq. I've had it for 6 months.
I do not include me on the features, it is a legendary bass.

UTILIZATION

The grip is nice, and access to acute is easy enough. The unvarnished handle is very comfortable, I love the feeling when touched.
The electronics are super efficient and easy to use.
The bass is relatively heavy (unless my ibanez but more than my warwick) but the balance is perfect so it is bearable with a good strap.

SOUNDS

The sound is really nice, very modern and powerful, this is the kind of bass that sounds great even with the knobs of the equa 0.
The active electronics are very clean.
The bass is versatile, I played mostly funk and funk-rock.
Slap is happiness.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had it for 6 months before selling it to test another model.
This is a very good bass that I recommend.
The value used for money is good in my opinion. I sure did not do this choice with my current taste.
Before I would have put my warwick 9, but in comparison I do not put him 8.

OVERALL OPINION

I am a guitarist and I wanted to mumuse with a pretty low (visible on my profile). Yes, sure, I have not taken the first toy. My brief was to have something comfortable and basic. Contract completed, it is very comfortable and the sound suits me perfectly. UTILIZATION

I went to get a bass for my studio and didn't really have a price point. Just basically I was thinking to get the best bass I could find and not spend over 3k. My primary goal was to find something really versatile. I didn't expect to get a humbucking only bass. The first thing I realized when I picked it up was how ridiculously good it felt. It looks quite heavy but it isn't as heavy as you would think. The neck has an oiled finish that feels better and plays faster than pretty much any neck I've ever played. Action is amazing. The bridge is wonderful. Tuners are good. This thing never...and i repeat never goes out of tune. I know it sounds like I am really praising the heck out of this bass but it is seriously that good feeling.

SOUNDS

The humbucker pickup is misleading because it suggests this bass is a one trick pony. The truth is that by using the eq knobs you can make this sound like anything. P bass or jazz bass or whatever. It can do those sounds if you dial it in right. I think a lot of single coil players get turned off by the look but try it and I bet you will love it. It has a very full and rumbling tone overall. Not high gain. You can't help but love the sound through a good half stack cranked up. It's just face melting. I use it in the studio most of the time with a number of direct boxes and DI amps. It always sounds great. I do think this bass sounds even better played loud in a live situation and I am sad I can't play it out much.

OVERALL OPINION

I think my favorite thing about my stingray is how ridiculously fun it is to play and how good it feels in the hands. Seems like whenever i pick it up I feel like I'm having fun. It's just a fun instrument for lack of a better word. Kind of like a good les paul feels. It is not your classic fender bass design or anything. It's very modern in feel and sound. So I can't say bass purists are going to love it. Still...it's worth anyone checking out. You don't see these used as much as you used to. It's a shame. Seems like music man keeps making them better every year.

The Stingray 4c is an American classic. Its features include, typically, a maple neck, an alder body and a split single-coil Precision Bass pickup. It has a vintage golden pickguard and vintage hardware. It also features a volume knob, a tone knob, and a 1/4" input.


UTILIZATION

This bass is somewhat heavier than a Jazz Bass, and can be somewhat large and long, but it was never too awkward for me to handle, and I'm less used to playing bass than most. A well-maintained P-bass will play and feel great, and the top notes won't be too far out of reach for anyone. If anything, the lowest notes will be more strenuous for someone with shorter arms. Everything on this bass is smooth and stable.


SOUNDS

I like using this with a Peavey tube bass amp, but I've heard many good combos with it. I like a nice, smooth, fat tone, one that isn't going to pop too hard, but fat enough to hold down a heavy groove. This bass is definitely more low end thud than the J-basses smoothness, but it has plenty of both. It's pretty versatile and can really hold down a fat groove. Distorted, it is particularly nice because it doesn't get too fuzzy, and it doesn't lose the pop of the low end. I really like using this for rock music, as well as some of the heavier funk and R&B. Most of the rock I play isn't too heavy, more in the vain of Dire Straits and Wilco in terms of heaviness and dynamics, and I think that the bass is just deep and round enough for those genres.


OVERALL OPINION

This base, in my opinion, are some of the best instruments made in the 20th century. These will certainly cost you a pretty penny nowadays, too. Getting a good used one is a good lifetime investment for the true bassist. I think it's worth it in the long run, before they get even more expensive. They sound absolutely phenomenal, and if they are well-maintained, they play great too. The 4c is certainly in a league of its own, and going classic is definitely the best choice.
