As an "on the floor" unit, this thing is tough to beat unless you want to spend about $1500. Before you even start trying to read the manual, just do yourself a favor and internet search "Boss GT-10 Advanced Driver (Name the kind of computer you have)" and then internet search "Boss GT-10 Editing Software." Make sure to go to the dropdown menus for help, manuals, whatever and save all the pdf's locally; you'll want them later.

The sounds out of this thing straight out of the box are Very good, save the problem every multi-effects unit suffers from: from one patch, bank, etc., to the next, the output levels don't match. This is where the software comes in. Yes, you CAN manually edit each patch through the menus and buttons on the unit, but it is a TON easier to do it with the software and then save the stuff to a hard-drive, thumbdrive, papyrus on the way out.

The note about S/N ratio and dynamic range is Spot On. The main reason I settled on this particular unit was the Roland / Boss Chorus; if it was good enough for Alex in the early days, it's good enough for me now. Anything claiming over 100 db Dynamic Range is a little out of my price range.

The BOSS GT-10is the best guitar pedal because it has the best dynamic range compared to other guitar multi effects pedals, lots of effects (including: flanger, chorus, delays, reverbs, amp models, speaker models, mic models, compressor/limiter, tremelo, uni-vibe, rotary, pitch shifter, transpose, 10-band graphic eq, parametric eq, 8-assigns (allowing you to control up to 8 custom setting changes assigned to the control pedals), full stereo sound, and much more all at a low price (compared to buying all of those effects individually). The Boss GT-10 Multi-effects unit has just about every effect a gigging musician will need. Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Harmonist,Advanced Amp modeling and much, much more. Boss uses a new technology they call COSM or Composite Object Sound Modeling. While the average guy doesn't have to know what that is exactly, it equates the best sounding Boss multi effects unit to date. The GT-10 is equipt with USB capability, Parralel Effects chain, MIDI capability, and a digital out making recording a snap. It also comes with an expression pedal for various functions including wah, channel blending, pitch bends, and more.

UTILIZATION

Having been through several BOSS muti-effects units in the past including the GT-8 which was incredibly hard to figure out, the GT-10 is light years ahead as far as ease-of-use. I had it producing great sounds in ten minutes with the EZ Tone function. It took me ten minutes in the past to know the GT-8 was way too complicated and was going back to the store. It also took ten minutes to know the GT-10 was the perfect unit for me and was never going back. The menus are intuative enough for the average guy to understand and manipulate. When I did get stuck, the users manual was clear and concise enough to help me figure it out.


SOUND QUALITY

The sound quality is fantastic and works perfect through the effects loop on my guitar amplifier. The level control in an easy to access place on the top allows me to blend my volume by foot while on stage to match the loop level. In some cases the GT-10 produces such great tones, I will volume the unit up to allow its tone to dominate my amplifier's core tone.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall the GT-10 is the gigging musician's best friend. I now have two because I can't imagine going on stage without it. I love its ease of use and the fact that it can do just about anything I need it to in the context of a cover band playing many styles and types of music. The phrase looper is a great feature and is a great way to lay down a simple rythem and practice over it. Some people complain they need stomp boxes as the quality of a multi-effects unit usually falls short. Those players may not have tried the GT-10. The sound quality is unmatched by any unit I have owned or tried in the past. It has also been extremely road worthy and I have had no problems. If I had to find one thing that would be an improvement, it might be an extra long power chord for those places where power is tough to get to. All in all the GT-10 is a great choice and well worth the price!

Bought at € 395 in January 2012, following the price cut (it is replaced by the GT100)
The RP10 is a multi-effect pedal that gives off a good solid feel.
It has 99 factory presets and 99 users. It is organized into four bank presets and you change the bank with the top pedals (which are also recorded loops) and was the 4 pedals left to select the preset.
In addition, it has two pedals to vary the presets and an expression pedal (for wah and other), and these three are totally allocable pedals as desired.

UTILIZATION

The ergonomics are very good: the pedals are well thought out, reminds light effects is being seen, and can be accessed by each impact a specific button.
Small problem: for parameter changes, you can get lost and confused the button to use because you have some thing to do sometimes with a button, sometimes with another.
For the effects loop, it must be activated in the MASTER mode and select the Direct Mix to control the rate of reinjection.

SOUND QUALITY

Compression, EQ is correct.
All effects are very good and sound wonderful (flange / chorus / delays / reverb), the wah is not bad.
The distortion / drive are correct but do not tear, it can be improved with a pedal of choice (market distortion / drive is bloated)
The pre-amp emulation is not great, it is more or less at a POD. This lack of clarity and warmth. I am considering buying a preamp that will serve me as bass and keyboard.

OVERALL OPINION

Use for 2 months. I POD2 for 12 years and a few pedals.
In the end, it was a well made compact crankset with effects particularly successful. It is high above a POD2 example.
I was initially hesitant with the G-Major2, but with the price drop of GT10, G-Major is found almost two times more expensive (with the purchase of a midi pedal over € 550 100 € of crankset = 650 € against € 395) to a level barely above functions and less.
The GT10 is a good deal of time.

Cot effects, there's something to please both choices in a quality that is modulated or modlisation. Whatever the style, the GT-10 will provide the sound environment and any effects DSIR.

Publisher trs simplistic at Boss, for my part I use the freeware "floorboard" even if I use it only to store, j'dite my sounds directly on the GT-10.

The connection is provided by may be the lack of XLR outputs to avoid the DI in some configurations and although those of the GT-5 does m'aient never default in 15 years, the switches are still a little "cheap".

UTILIZATION

Owner of Multi-effects for years I can not objectively judge the simplicity of use, especially having had a GT-5's handling was done naturally trs. But comparable to other devices ergonomics is very well thought-free "option C a small mini-menu in the menu in D".

sounds are classs by catgories, clean, drive, lead effects etc. .... and everyone there is something a condition to have a good amp dot a good clear sound. just plug the bte and sounds!! the possibilities are wide trs and everyone there is something, even the most demanding same.
I play the guitar all day long for 35 years, I pat pdalier by which a sum more than reasonable offers quality effects of either amp simulations and effects that is remarkable!! j 'a bit quiet on mfiant rverb, so used a lexicon, but they do it's job well trs and all effects. the amp simulations are rich and varied, and there are a few persvrance the sound that you want to hear. I play on a scratch of my production team with a simple (brown sugar) and a double (the mule) in the bare knuckle I made sounds wishes. from light to saturated through most DLIR (octave, guitar synth ....)

OVERALL OPINION

I've had 15 days and I refine my sound as I run and as the possibilities of this pdalier, say 20 years ago you had to have a rack with 2000 x unitsa pice euros in order to have only half of the opportunities offered to us in this little more finished bijou.De galres the transmission gear is lightweight and can be cumbersome, minimum connection is rve to move to the concert!

report quality unbeatable price in my opinion I do it again this choice without any hsitation, and too bad for the psycho-manic sound vintage lamps dpensent a fortune in gear to get the sound right at home and them ..... the sound you wherever you go play! get sound is good, what is done with, it's better!

Last "jewel" in the Boss!

Almost complete connectivity: input, stereo out, phones, midi, USB, digital out, check out FX pedals etc..

UTILIZATION

Setup is easy, with minimal reading the manual on board.
on the other hand without using youtube more communities GT10, farewell good ideas ... The factory settings are as usual weaklings, so crappy.

SOUND QUALITY

After a full reset the machine shows his teeth clean hallucinations (very effective graphic eq, delay and reverb very good chorus) as simulations of acoustic simulations of single / humbucker / hollow guitars.

I bought a few days,
after 5 hours I developed my basic patch 8 (3 clean, 4 distos, a fuzz octave).

For three weeks I am back on it I and I m'clate redcouvre my style of play
The LOOP has much to do. I play more finesse in the search for quality as plutt buggers as I did before: there's no say, good sound commands respect!

I must say that I spend the ZOOM G2-1U to GT-10 (as well say the RENAULT CLIO prpare by the AUDI R8 ABT) trs I'm satisfied with this choice (I hsit lot with DIGITECH GNX4, but I was told repeatedly that there was no picture, so I fell into the easy as finding a GNX4 and try to get an opinion , courrage good ...)

I took some time to give an opinion on this bike, to be sure! Well it's .......! dynamite! it works now. I get out of an old Boss ME10 which I dropped after 10 years of loyal service (rest his soul). I work mainly with my Fender amp hot road in groups, piano bar but I had the light! I will not list all the possibilities, but where Boss is strong, it's crunch and distos, really realistic, especially on the way directly to the PA (which they lacked in my opinion of its predecessors). Just one caveat, the ceusses who use a Start or scratched with a single coil, or poorly shielded, will not be at the party in a noisy environment, because despite the dénoiseur, impossible to hum without the saturation, if the it is not an intermediate position (of course with my gibson, no problem) unless a tip that I would not know after 30 years of professionalism in this beautiful work? Go I add a pound and a Rut Major 7: Holding the connection jacks in and out is a bit weak, even with neutricks, (it comes and goes too easily). The price! A gniale PDAL, where all effects are available, as the large distortion in the electronic mtale. Plutt complicates use of beginners, but only 5 days APRS I understand quite well how it works. You can do anything with!

Simulations of fretless guitar, synth and sitar are not terrible in my opinion, and was already the case on the GT-8 ...
The sounds of amps are very realistic and very dynamic in response to the game of the guitarist. A real improvement over the GT-8.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a month, mostly on a line-out sound system or headphones.
I have owned a GT-6 before a pod XT, a zoom-G7 1ut. The GT-10 surpasses them all. And much more robust than Line6 or Zoom ...
Unbeatable value for money.
I would do without hesitation that choice ...
Too bad the screen is blue ... blue-gray-red is truly kitsch

UTILIZATION

I did that for some days but I dj read the user manual to be sure enough consquent can use it properly. Many of achtent and sell almost aussitt plant because it is a real gas.

So I would say ... watch, allow yourself time to tame the thing!

Have not yet been able to use it "live", I should say that both a multi possde ct "Plug'n Play" as there is a way to find a quick and appropriate. On the other, you can almost do everything with limited and can become a long set (if we try something prcis).

Basically, if you want to sound forth as al so no problem. on the other hand, to something more prcis be sought, but good handling .. it was something for nothing.

The manual ... clear, "Yeah" I say. but will be well read what.

I have not had enough time to dive into it right the potential is my l. We do what we want with the patches, you can put before or APRS pramp, mthode use 4 cables, use two channels Submitted (ab) ... there are ways to do almost all.

I just watched the entire manual with bte on the knees and confirms what I say ... 1001 option, it is standard I think. It's not the full twelve o'clock o can be assigned all with anything but I really regret NOT my 335.

SOUND QUALITY

As I said, I did not used to live but Premire, the sounds are good and I think that the modulations are what is best for this can (c That is why I took it).

Personally, I think it's a good trs "Swiss knife" that can be used with preamp and the whole shebang without worry or use "simple" with modulations, tuners, wah ...

Basically, I expect to be able to test it by tural situation and above all, learn to use it because it is only a few days as I possde.

I took it for:

- The patch intrt power as we want the effects, assign what you want what you want

- The Intgr looper (small but useful)

- The Boss solidity

- Have everything at hand without lugging 25kg of pedals besides food.

For those who like me, does not roll forcment on gold, they like to have an effect on hand, which does not invest 800 ® religion effects, is lugging kg of pedals, with BBbbbbbbzzzzzz not possible .. basically be who want a quiet, purchase the GT10.

A 335 in UK .... I regret not! (9 / 10 because nothing is perfect and there are probably better by putting more!)

there is everything, the effects are of very good quality overall, the pitching / follow harmonize well, the simulations can be used to synthe ... some are completely useless for my use but it's always interresting if you want to experiment or out of the ordinary ...

for those with galley highgain simulation, the GT10 (and before that WG8) is used on stage by Opeth in two head laney GL100 that serve as power amp ... (referring to the site guitarmessenger.com for photos and videos ) ... so it's possible to do! ^ ^


OVERALL OPINION

I waited a while before giving an opinion, it's been 4 months now that I use daily, and he had this much time to get to familiarize myself with all the editable parameters and all possible combinations . simulator in the category, I also have a ToneLab and with PODXT packs, I have both kept a good time. this is the first time I m'interressais a boss. was first seen it is not the most flattering, it takes work and investment but in the end I'm happy ... of course I prefer the sound of my herbert in a 4x12 but it is incomparable issue Budget (5000 euros vs 350 euros!)

thing to note, it is interresting to note that the monitoring system should not be neutral with this simulator ... good monitoring system (quality) may give a hard time in the most demanding of you , while a simple consumer audio system (basic) give very good results because it provides a default equalization is not neutral .... a finding on my part after several tests and blows of fate ...
