Ultra intuitive -Multi-purpose built way to have access to parameters quickly.

USE

Very easy to use, we can find what we want ... except for the modulation, I row death to find a sound that I like.
Distos are correct rather, not very extra-ordinary, the problem as the important product ds we breath a little boost, but for lgres distos, no problem my major point.

SOUND QUALITY

I use a Marshall MG100 and between an Ibanez RG370DX custome EMG (85-60), and I must say that my impressions are rather nuances ... some effects rvlent be of excellent quality other rather rotten.

NOTICE GLOBAL

In 3 years of use, I have to say that I served well, despite a few flaws prcits.
A big plus on the resistance I'm transported in poor conditions several times a month, frquement prter friends for their little concerts, and playing it like a brute, nothing moves, the knobs do not spit, everything still works as its out of the box.

I bought this effects pedal long ago as I was on a budget and wanted a Wah, chorus, phaser, distortion, and pretty much everything in one box just to test out and experiment without breaking the bank.

I'm not a techie so I won't even try and explain the details. You can check out some of the other reviews for that.

UTILIZATION

General configuration/setup is simple enough. I'm someone that avoids reading manuals when possible, whether it's to learn how to use an effects pedal or how to play Monopoly. With that in mind, I was still able to get a lot out of this pedal.

SOUND QUALITY

I used my telecaster with it. I loved the fact that I was able to use an octaver, wah, harmony, etc with the expressive pedal along with a ton of other effects, but that I did so without paying much at all.

However, I will say many of the effects lacked in quality (which was to be expected). i.e. the coveted wah sounds nothing like a crybaby

OVERALL OPINION

Loved the price, loved all the capabilities, probably would've loved it more if I took the time needed to truly learn how to use all capabilities, but did not love the quality so much. However, for higher quality I'd expect to spend upwards of $400. All-in-all a good multieffects pedal for a beginner/intermediate musician.

This thing is very comprehensive if you have a basic setup like myself...No you can't use the 4 cable method as it has no loop...It can do everything else....

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use...Nothing but simple knobs that are clearly labeled...Plug and play...The manual is excellent and the presets give you a great start...Tweak from there....The sounds are just like the BOss pedals so I never understood why I don't see more of these around...

SOUND QUALITY

All my guit fiddles like this box....The OD boosts are excellent, there's compression that is ok, sound sculpting like a BBE, reverb that is passable, delay that is, well delay....There's also modulation that kinda sucks but I don't like chorus....

Overall, this thing is an all-in-one box that covers the ground of many BOSS pedals at a fraction of the cost....Worth every penny and built well to boot!

OVERALL OPINION

I like all the features....The OD Boost is nice...The reverbs are sufficient....They are all fine...If you have used Boss pedals before, that is the tone...For the price, you get a TON with this thing...

I don't like the fact that it has no loop...The 4 cable method would be nice with this...It also lacks usable midi...

This is a unit I don't use regularly but when I need something...It's an all-in-one BOSS pedal shop..

I'd buy again!

At last no more mounting my favorite Boss pedals on home-made pedal-boards with power supplies and leads all over the place... this unit has it all in one neat solid package.

I walked out of the store and thought I had finally the answer to all of my dreams as a live guitarist. After years of trying out patch-driven midi equiped over-the-top gizmos, I was sure this was the answer. All I wanted was a simple triple stomp-box backed up with a bit of technology to store my favorite patches/tuner etc.
But this unit has in my opinion serious flaws;-
There are two modes of operation....
1)"Memory Mode" where you can recall around 30 patches. These user-patches can store all of your desired tweaks including master levels/reverb/compressor and combinations of modulation, delay and distortion. Great so far. Only problem is you only select one patch at a time (i.e. you cannot have a modulation assigned to one pedal and a distortion to another and stamp on both pedals. Also as you change patches you get a slight delay, as per my 10 year old Boss SE-70, which is annoying enough to stop me using it live.
2) The other mode is "Manual Mode". Now this feels more like a live player's mode... you can use all three pedals simutaneously (e.g. O/D, Flange, Delay) and tweak global settings such as reverb & compressor. Fantastic - no delays in switching either....... BUT!..... no way to store these settings! BUGGER! My unit is only 2 days old and I am using Blu-Tac on every button to stick all of my manual mode settings so that I do not knock the buttons out of place!!!
My other gripe is power....
When I saw that the unit could be powered by 6 AA batteries I thought GREAT I will use re-chargebles. But for some reason they don't work - maybe the unit is very sensitive to voltage levels of NiMH (1.2V) batteries and only works on 1.5V Alkalines. This really p%^%^%ed me off as now I have to buy a PSU.



Quality is superb - this unit is as tough as nails and will outlive me!

What a shame it is so NEARLY there...but I still highly recommend it. My suggestions to Mr Boss for future improvements....
1) A save defaults mode for Manual Mode... and a "Lock" switch
2) A Midi port to back up patch changes to the "Memory Mode"
3) Design for re-chargeable batteries.

I needed a good multi-effect processor, coz i can't afford a whole load of stomp boxes, and this seemed like the best alternative. Bought in Matchetts in Belfast for £200, plus £15 for the mains adapter

Really easy to use. No menus to wade through, just twist them knobs and you're away! Most of the effect sound pretty good - a wide range of distortion, some good delays, and a whole host of modulation effect. Expression pedal is also a bonus. There is enough space to keep a whole load of your favourite sounds.

Most of the pedal is pretty good, except there are a few niggles with it:

1: When switching between banks, there is a short period of silence (like 1/4 second), annoying when changing between a chorus and distorted delay for example. It may seem short, but its there and becomes quite irritating. However, this is only the case if you use memory mode; if you use the switches as stomp boxes, this wont affect you

2: The reverb selecter only has a 1/4 turn to ajjust itself, so it's a little difficult to be really presice.

3: When the expression pedal's on +/- octave, if it's left not in the fully up/down position, it makes a wierd,"wobbling" sorta noise. It would also be nice to have a seperate switch to select the pedal.

4: To switch between banks live (ie with your feet), seperate footswiches need to be bought)

5: NO EQ!!

The only major problem out of these is the first one, which is not a problem if you're using it in a studio, only if its live.

Overall, this is another quality Boss product.



Hey - its a boss. I havent had it too long, but im not expecting any major problems.

Although the negative list seems long, i just felt that all the weaker features needed pointing out. Overall, this is a quality pice of kit, but if this got lost or destroyed, i would probably save up for the GT-6, especially if it didnt have that annoying delay between the memory bank switching. Still, its a good, user friendly box. Enjoy!

I bought this from musicians friend for about $300. I got it because I just wanted a whole bunch of effects for a cheaper price than buying a lot of individual effects.

I really like the fact that this multi-effects unit makes almost no noise. All the effects are really good, some aren't as good as the individual Boss pedal... but for $300 you can't beat all these effects. The reverbs are really good. I don't much fancy the expression pedal effects, they're rather weak. There is a large selection of delays to choose from, and the selection of distortions is awesome. I haven't really taken it anywhere to find out how tough it is, but I've dropped it from a standing position and it's surviving just as good as new.

The only thing I don't like about the pedal is the fact you can't play more than one distortion, modulation effect, or delay at once. Other than that, it's all good.

Everything is very simple and intuitive as on a conventional pedal effects. No more searching through menus, everything is under our eyes. Simple as limited settings.

SOUND QUALITY

The modulation effects and delays are very good qualities. on the other hand, small problem with the distortion and overdrive conserne missing heat slightly.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 months and for the price, it really does not fly. All the classical effects are there (plus some extras): distortion, flanger, chorus (3 types), reverb, phaser, ring modulator, Harmonist, tremolo, wah-wah, rotary, united v, delay ... I advise the ME 50 to all guitarists who want a first multi-purpose super simple and effective or to anyone whose GT 6 (the big brother of the ME 50) rebutte its complexity of use.

All effects are the ncessaires The format is very practical, it can take under the arm to go rpt. You can program up to 30 simultaneous sounds and pressure of two of the three pedals, it goes into the "manual" you can choose a cd by the effects with which you want to play and remove as and example of a piece.

SOUND QUALITY

Ralistes effects, I use a Start and it's versatile trs. The expression pedals is the effect whawha is good but the sensitivity is diffrent a real cry baby for example. What is gnial is the octave which allows a simple press of the foot of mount "glissquot; suprieure the octave (see the song Marooned Pink Floyd!). J 'uses a lot of reverb and delay - say nothing. distos regards, I have jou with modlisation of Banez, trs is well and saw the possibility of the rgler tone, strength and level, there's really way to make his own sound.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it as a group and Aot scne since late 2003, I am satisfied with trs. I had the GX 700 before and it's really easier to use. It really s'clate immediately. AND the price is right, 330 euros, try ngocier with the transformer (which is optional!).

UTILIZATION

The grip of the machine is almost too easy, not really any gram of head of the manual supplied with almost too many.
We simply feel like to be different pedals, everything is described, the operation is ultra-simple, the edition of sounds as well.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects of ME-50, take over the existing pedals, and it is therefore Boss quality.
The noise suppressor is super efficient, good reverb, delay trs good, good modulation, the equalizer is nice with a pretty acoustic simulation practitioner. The only point which does not satisfy me 100% it's like for most multi-effects, the Overdrive and Distortion. I use it for several months, sometimes live I do not use programs and change settings like a good old pedals that we can not do with another multi-effects.
It is solid, rgonomique, easy, considering the price of pedals, there's good delay, a good noise suppressor, good chorus with nothing we ca dj winner so good value qualitprix.
For the same budget, I buy the same, with a budget over consquent plutt I will opt for a good rack with pdalier noon.

UTILIZATION
