Actually, I like this unit even less than before. There isn't much to like.

Where to begin. As noted in the prior review, this unit died after two hours. I later discovered that using the onboard controls to tweak settings while having it plugged into the computer resulted in a "fatal error" fault--shutting the thing down.
Basically the computer editing software is worthless. Even more so, if your computer uses the Vista OS. And forget about it if you're running any version of Linux.

DigiTech claims to have addressed the issue of Vista compatibility with a major firmware and X-Edit Revision. I just spent two hours trying to install the revisions. As I anticipated, the instructions provided by DigiTech's website do not work.

    The hardware construction is superb.
Unfortunately, the firmware and software are worthless.

If I had this purchase to do over, I would not purchase this unit. Other units in this price range have on/off switches and operate on batteries as well as having superior features.
Pass this unit by. There are better units out there which are less trouble.

    Digitech RP350

I have been a guitar player for over 35 years--mainly as a hobby. Sometimes in church.

I purchased this unit yesterday from Musician's Friend--needing a good multiFX pedal. I paid $180.00 for it.

What attracted me to the unit was that it had a USB port for use as an interface for recording guitar on computer--also Digitech provides [through their website] software which allows the user to edit and save patches on computer. In addition, the unit has two XLR outputs (L/R) which allow the user to run it direct to a mixer for either recording to run signal through onstage monitors in live performance.

The quality of the unit is crap. It has a metal case--which should indicate a stageworthy unit. However, if the casing was made from gold or platinum, this would still be worthless junk since the circuitry inside is crappy. Having owned this less than a day this thing shot craps when I tried to make some usable patches for myself.

As noted earlier, the outside construction is heavy duty--however digitech must not be putting quality circuitry in their units since it died after less than a day of light use.

Save your money and keep looking--this is junk.
