2 preamps (OD and Disto) are ideal for register my blues / pop / rock / funk. There's no ultra-modern Metal saturation typed, it will sound rather clean the fat, all that I love.

UTILIZATION

Simple configuration is selected the effect parameters are adjusted with the buttons on the right and the program is saved.

for each effect can save the setting to one of the 4 buttons "favorites" in the upper left. Then we go to another preset and can recall the setting of Dlay that had previously added to favorites ... a child's play.

Each preset has a name in any letters, lots easier than remembering two months after that to play such a piece must remember the 5-3 program

Regarding the manual, it is sufficient to put the pedal in hand and eventually learn how each affects the sound effect. That said this is not a highly technical (like how to properly adjust the PreDelay a reverb), a sound engineer might find this book a little lighter. For me who am not, this is sufficient.

SOUND QUALITY

I have a Fender Strat and a modified Champ25 (Electro-Harmonix 12AX7 + Celestion Black Shadow). Here are the details of my chain:

The advantage of the Nova System is that you can enable / disable effects and preamp. So I use the major part of the time the preamp clean channel of my combo, while disabling the preamp of the Nova System. After I have the opportunity to add crunch with my SansAmp and / or preamp Nova System because it makes me 3 preamps online, so a lot of opportunity to grains.

OVERALL OPINION

I once had a multi-purpose rack Alesi Quadraverb bought used around 1994/95. Some say it was excellent stuff, months I did not like the sound of too Dlay too metal for my taste. When it burned I played many years without any effects. Thereafter I had gone to get me a pedalboard with pedals that unit. When it came to choosing what to buy reverb and delay, I've tried several brands, and I was most impressed by the Nova Reverb and Nova Delay with very soft sounds very "analog". on the other hand in terms of price, these two pedals were bcp more expensive (€ 150/180 unit in hand).

The Nova System incorporates the same circuits as those two pedals, and offers the added ability to make presets with bonus 2 preamps, compression, modulation effects ... it was bcp economically more interesting and use I do not regret my choice, value for money unbeatable if like me you bought this pedal around € 250 on occasion.

LEAST:
- Tuner function impractical, better not count on it.
- Noisegate function not top, I finally found. a Boss NS-2 and the problem is solved ^ ^
- Function equalizer not easy when you have not used the EQ parametrics
- Like any pedal settings output volume require a lot of preparation before the scene (why I kept my old boost pedal in my chain)
- Program changes are not instantaneous, they need to hold down the footswitch 1 sec to be initiated + QLQ-tenths of a second to be switched on when the footswitch is released. Perhaps by adding the "G-Switch" that simplify changes preset to see ...

After 3 months of intensive use, I do not regret my choice, it's the bomb baby! The sound of my guitar is respected and dynamic remains excellent, not like some other pedals (like Line6 and other digital modeling).
Is not such a fan of modulation effects at the base, I even learned to appreciate small dose (flanger, chorus, phaser, detune) as they are also of very good quality.

The sound editing is done directly on the nova.
It can communicate with a computer by noon but the connection nova is not thought of as a computer peripheral, rather it is the complement of a guitar and an amp.

UTILIZATION

The settings are simple we choose the effect you set parameters and stored.
Patches are constructed by registering multiple combinations of effects, but I use it more like a pedal board and I turn the effects on demand.

The manual is well done, simple and allows to understand the operation.

SOUND QUALITY

The quality of the effects is the strong point of the nova system: clean, varied and hot.
Good value for money.

I use a strat and an amp directly perform facade.
In clear, with just a little reverb is crystalline.
Its saturated and once properly adjusted the sensitivity, it has a good heat.

I use most often distorse, the delay and reverb.
I do not use the tremolo or the flangler.

Used for a few months and repeats concert, I have a natural and precise sound I keep the sensitivity of my guitar ..

I had zoom, korg, I dabbled line6 and the nova system is well above the level of the quality of the effects.

What I like most: sound, ease of use, small footprint.

It lacks a built-in expression pedal.

An analog section consists of an overdrive and distortion. This section is placed before all other treatments and can be disabled by inserting a loop Novasystem in order to benefit from the pre-amplification stage of the amp.

UTILIZATION

We can not say that editing on this machine is very simple.
The number of available parameters is complete, the use of menus and submenus is imperative and requires the user manual.
Once tamed, the Nova System finally seems logical. The manual is well written and clear, though it lacks some subtleties to be discovered by chance and use.
No software publisher, or usb socket to communicate with a pc.
The MIDI dump is still possible for updates and load banks.
Each effect can be edited in a comprehensive and nuanced. You can store 4 settings "favorites" for each one that can be recalled at any time to develop an entire preset. Each program can be saved in a bank. 30 factory programs, and 60 available to the user. This is less than the competition but more than adequate.
Each parameter can be edited via a two-line monochrome display, very bright. Four knobs serve to vary the settings on the display.
Two main modes of operation:
PRESET MODE: In this mode switches the pedal increment two banks and three other programs operate in the bank. There are three switches to operate the Boost, Tap / Tempo (and tuner), delay. In this mode, 3 sounds per bank may seem insufficient, but we made it.
PEDAL MODE: here it is as if we had a traditional pedalboard to 8 pedals. The limitation comes from the fact that you can not stack multiple effects of the same famille.Par ex: it's either chorus or flanger or phaser but never together. This is a restriction to the truth but I do not see when I had to use a flanger together with a chorus ... Same for the pitch, not Octaver along the harmonizer. It does not matter but you must know.
Just then prepare its sounds in advance (as we would solve the pedals) and then turn them on and off on demand as with a traditional pedalboard.
There is also a speaker simulator for direct output to console or a tuner enregistreur.Ainsi accurate but difficult to read because of the narrowness of the display, it helps out good anyway.

SOUND QUALITY

Here, there is more ambiguity.
The sound quality is at the rendezvous, as always with TC Electronic, we fly far above the competition in terms of transparency, dynamics, compliance with it connected. This is the digital (except DO), but no emulation! The sound is great, the staggering Delay, reverbs small but perfectly usable, the sublime chorus ... Everything is monstrously efficient!
There are no miles sounds like an esoteric Line6 HD500 or a Digitech RP1000, but everything is far from usable ridiculous, far from my face.
Small problem: the overdrive and distortion, while being of good behavior, look ordinary in terms of the quality of the rest. The sounds are similar, roughly speaking a SD-1 and DS-1 at Boss. OVERALL OPINION

I use it for three weeks in the rehearsal studio and home studio. For this I set all of the pedals to stick with the band's repertoire. Few hours of toil and trial and error, but the rewards are worth it. Exit my pedalboard heavy and cumbersome. My preferred configuration is: just NovaSystem with my expression pedal in front of my Laney VC30 on clean channel.
For concerts I plan to pull through the loop and use my BlackStar HTdual for saturation because of its texture.
Before acquiring the Nova System, I tried a Vox Tonelab SE, Line 6 HD 500, Boss GT10 and DigitechRP1000. I admit that these products are more complete in terms of possibilities, not really sound limitations in delusions. It's really the sound that tipped the balance in favor of TC. When you hear the purity of the TC effects, we realize that it is not the same audience. A very similar rate, we must choose between opulence and ... quality.
The price / quality ratio seems paradoxically more favorable to the Nova System.
Not only that choice I would do the same budget, but I plan to stay in the same family and migrate to the big brother to have the cake and eat it too.

UTILIZATION

The Nova System is designed to replace a pedalboard setup. It is a multi-effects processor, which is a term that makes many guitarists groan - one tends to think of the old cheesy processor units with over a hundred sounds, but zero GOOD sounds - but this unit is full of excellent tones. It has a smaller amount of presets, as well as different effects models, as something like a Line 6 M9 has, but they tend to be higher quality sounds. The unit is really easy to navigate and program.

SOUND QUALITY

First things first - the delays and reverbs are PERFECT. They don't get much better than this, folks - you'd have to get into mega-expensive Axe Fx units to get any noticeable difference. The analog drive unit is surprisingly good. I thought the addition of having analog drive instead of digital distortion was a great move on TC's part - digital distortions frankly typically sound like crap. Now, distortion is one of the most personal of sonic touches that any guitarist looking for their "signature tone" can have, so it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but TC Electronic has made it easy to bypass the distortion signal so one can use one's amp distortion or another external pedal.

OVERALL OPINION

I love this pedal. The functionality is vast, deep, and yet simple. Two gripes - it weighs a lot for the size, so it definitely adds a considerable mass to a pedalboard. That's not totally a bad thing - it seems to be extra durable, but I wanted to mention this in order to be thorough. The other gripe I have is with the switching - it seems like the switch activates the function upon the RELEASE of the switch, and not upon the PRESS of the switch, like 99.99999% of all other units. This is a bit awkward to get used to. It's not the most annoying feature in the world, but for someone that is used to many sound changes in the course of a set, this can make the stomp timing a bit harder to nail.

All in all, this is a great unit.

Well I love! To play the blues to the big rock that really chih trs well!

I have used and tried a lot of pdalier but I never really satisfied with the t distortion and amp simlulations shovel ... L with the Nova, I'm tr s content!

The report qualitPrix seem all that honorable. This is when the same good stuff that trs j'espre keep between 5 and 10 years.

In contrast, IL RSID significant noise when I put the sound distortion and I do not play! I have not found the origin of these sounds but comes from pdalier! UTILIZATION

Very simple configuration, the editing of sounds is a breeze, no complications with the hundreds of parameters of conventional digital effects.
The manual actually gives some small Downpipe significant for optimal use of the machine.

SOUND QUALITY

A distortion / OD analog with régalges bases and conventional digital effects (delay, reverb, chorus ect ...) can get most of the desired effects for a versatile guitar (rock, blues ..) with quality idéniable sound.
J'utilse the NOVA with a Vox AC30 and SG is a treat ..

OVERALL OPINION

I've had three months and I love it!
Most: simplicity and efficiency effects, multi size (very compact), finish strong
Cons: yes there are still, no button (on / off) the cable must be removed to disconnect the power supply (it's a little void in this price), the BOOST switch out of position, I always tend to look for a solo enchainer
Quality / price ratio: 8 / 10 (but just because of the power supply. Besides a POD X3 I bought just before, so no comparison in sound, use and price ( 200 euros greatly improved in quality)
Repeat this choice, absolutely, this pedal deserves to be known

SOUND QUALITY

Well this is where the vehicle excels and is after all what is asked. The effects are excellent and not too coarse nor too light, customizable, I use it in the loop of a JCM2000 live and direct repeats on a Laney VC 15 for not lugging all Bouzin the pedalboard.

This is a multi Spreti pa which is out of my config.

A small negative point, the tuner is not a fan of open tuning which is sad.

OVERALL OPINION

The Nova works two different ways, where Drive Line Input mode Input.

Input Line connected in the analog section (Overdrive & Dist) is not enabled, only the effects of modulations (chorus. ..), delays, reverb, pitch and Boost can be used.

Drive Input Connected to the entire Nova is exploitable.

In all cases, the Nova will be informed of the entry selected by the user via the camera menu.

The manual will be of great help when you first start the machine.

Like all digital products, editing presets on the Nova works with some logic that is specific to each device.
Again, the manual is very clear and explains each stage of programming.
A good close reading and the Nova has no secrets or hidden defects.

So the issue is within the reach of all.

SOUND QUALITY

Pro sound quality.

The reverb and delay are the two major strengths of the Nova.

The modulation effects are stunning, all is music, usable and transparent.

The Disto Overdrives and are to my taste the only black spot on the board, however Alech on paper, shows the analog section is concise and cold compared to the effects, even with the HP simulation enabled.

The Nova is especially formidable connected at the end of his chain.
Plugged into a power amp, an effects loop amp or directly connected console sound, the kind of place where a conventionally distos has nothing to do ...

Recently (April 2011), the device has a new firmware that fixes a bug MIDI. We can now manage the Nova System completely from your computer via a MIDI interface.
Some complain distos then it is an analog technology (very rare on the multi-effects). We must adjust its gain and input "output range". Sounds are achieved truly remarkable.

UTILIZATION

Every effect is customizable and the number of parameters remarkably extended (12 for reverb!). Inevitably, it will take time to read the full potential of the Nova System.
The manual is clear and very helpful to understand what it is. But it's certainly not listening you realize the quality of onboard effects.

UTILIZATION

Intuitive configuration, with a little adjustment period even qd! The "plus" by TC is the ability to store settings of an effect and carry them forward to another patch ... Practical and smart!

SOUND QUALITY

The sound ... then ... the title is a sweet, very gentle, mildly! I worked so far with a Pedalboard mounted in nearly 10 years with analog pedals everywhere and all modified (or almost) true bypass .. Anyway ... a "thing" that weighed about 50kg in total over the next mess bag plus all the troubles that go well (power supply fuses, mini jacks .. etc. .. etc. fickle!) and then I ask myself into a store and I say I want to try all the pedals. Luckily, in Dijon, I know almost all the guys So, I spent the afternoon without being bored .. short .. cool and quiet!

In essence, I tell you this is a BOMB Nova System so I cracked, I bought it! It's been 4 days that I have and I served: one at my house (to the cunt and the cock in front of a drummer dude!), A jam session with foudingues who had no bass player (double sharp octaver!) and yesterday in the studio rehearsal with members of my group who are professionals in the art. And the fact is that in all circumstances, it killed everyone! The sound is clear, the delays ... simply monstrous choruses .. trem and vibrato are .. splendid and even distos or drive are downright amazing!

I had a bunch of stuff Boss, Zoom, Roland, Digitech, bottom / middle / high end and I admit that this creature TC has eliminated all of my memory! So ... I even commissioned the G-System Ltd. to permanently eliminate any other pedal (I still have my cry, my qq jamman and stuff lying around).

OVERALL OPINION

Basically, apart from the control problem (which can be solved with a MIDI controller) and the fact it is a device which we immediately fell in love (!!), nothing to say! It's expensive (compared to brands mentioned above who board about 10 times more effect ... but who respect neither the amp or guitar plugged in!) But damn effective! Therefore, we strongly mid August to resume the tour and I use it live.

You'll understand ... I am madly in love with this machine! TRY THE DARK!

Crankset Ultra-complete: all necessary effects sought by guitarists ... lacks only the wah-wah pedal and a volume, but it would increase the size of the beast that the coup is very compact ...

The registration of its presets is fairly simple and intuitive: no need to mug up the manual three hours!

SOUND QUALITY

the sound effects are stunning: compressor, delay, reverb ... Brief is the TC ELECTRONIC ... I had a lot of cranks (Zoom, Boss, Art, Line6 ...) and pedals (Boss, Vox ,...) and frankly it's above the rest! Small flat for tremolo that does not convince me, but I must say that I'm not back fully in effect, therefore, be taken lightly!
At distos / overdrive: frankly I stayed on my ass! I was not expecting such a potato! They are very realistic and can play everything from blues to cradingue of hard rock or even metal ... ok then we forget to thrash, death, the neo, but frankly with a good tube amp (of course!) behind, it was the heavy "(I have a VOX AC30 CC2 and they are a beautiful couple! )
With my Tele I love the clean ... the single coils are perfect for that ... For his good rock / heavy, my Les Paul and my stick Horizon perfectly!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 15 days and I think I'm in love! lol
In 15 years of practicing the instrument, I bought the stuff, but here we touch the high end!

The +: effects, distos, sounds, simplicity, small footprint
The -: no wah or volume, presets feature to "call", no USB interface for PC and MAJ

I do not regret having sold my Pod X3 Live, more complete, but not up to the sound level ...
