    Zoom GFX8

Due to an administration blunder, I managed to get mine for £150. i got home opened it and found a label saying £270!. I was very lucky to have got one at this price, though I think they are actually for sale at that price now.

I went to this from a £70 digitech and obviously think the sound is amazing. The drive unit is great, the delays and flangers seamless, and the wah is the best digital one Ive tried. Its green, I like that too. The CD that came with it didnt work on my computer so I had to download a newer version that had been alterd by someone else (not official). But now it works and I can create effects on my computer.

Its green, I like that too. The CD that came with it didnt work on my computer so I had to download a newer version that had been alterd by someone else (not official). But now it works and I can create effects on my computer.

When I first got it home and opened it I knew it was going to be a nightmare. I couldnt be bothered to read te manual, so went straight onto it. After about two minutes I was stuck, and had to go the manual which isnt that user friendly. After a while I got to know the basics and I was away. What infuriates me most is the knobs, they dont reset. If you turn it on and find ian effect you like and really want to edit, you cant! As soon as you twist the knob is snaps to something comletely
different and you've lost it all!
Its very old methinks, and some of the effects are useless.

Its very rugged and strong. I think if I ever dropped it would be fine. The rubber strip off the pedal is coming off but i can glue that back on easily. The knobs are, well, big and the feel is very comfortable.

Its getting a bit old now, but it still has enough to put it ahead of the Digitech RP2000A. The analog sounds are growing on me, and i reccommend it to anyone looking for a all round effect pedal. If you want the latest modern effects, look elsewhere.

I got the effects pedal from sound control (england)and payed £169

It has very sturdy constucion and has really good metal sounds

it is really hard to get a good blues tone from the unit and it does'nt have very good clean tones

build qualty is amazzing and it has a really good hard folded metal casing I'm a bit wurry'ed about the pedals they seem a little flimesy so I'm going to make metal pedals soon

If your looking for some awsome metal tones and want a muilty fx this is for you

    Zoom GFX8

I bought this unit in Febuary 2000 from a retailer in the UK I paid the equivalent of $400. I test drove the Digitech RP2000, the Korg AX1000g and the Boss GT3. The Zoom GFX8 had the best tone of the bunch so I had to get it!

This unit is extremely versatile. A very neat feature is the inclusion of a Custom Distortion grouping in conjunction with supplied software. This allows you to model and create your own distortion patches on a PC and download them into your GFX8. I really like the Valve amp quality of the amp models. I can create any amount of drive from blues to shred very easily. I can very easily aquire 80's studio sounds reminiscent of Steve Lukather and Larry Carlton, to name …

This allows you to model and create your own distortion patches on a PC and download them into your GFX8. I really like the Valve amp quality of the amp models. I can create any amount of drive from blues to shred very easily. I can very easily aquire 80's studio sounds reminiscent of Steve Lukather and Larry Carlton, to name a few. The clean amp models are shimmering and crystal clear and the acoustic simulator is truly a joy. The modulation effects are top notch. This unit is robustly built, the expression pedal is solid. The unit is great for live use with the 4 pedals to switch patches. Many guitar sounds are attainable with this unit.

The Preset sounds are very over-effected and therefore very muddy. Be prepared for much tweaking of the patches. I spent many sleepless nights working on programming of the GFX8 but boy is it worth it. I would also have liked to see the inclusion of a feedbacker effect in this unit. I love the sound of feedback applied to guitar ala Hendrix. I understand the new Korg unit offers this and I hope the successor to the GFX8 will have this. I would also love for the successor to this unit to have built in drum patterns for practice.

Built like a tank! Much better than the zoom 3030 ever was. I like the on/off switch, good thinking zoom. The unit looks very smart with a nice LED display.

Here's my advice to all you rock god's:

Buy a GFX8, then listen to your favourite artists, then go to the GFX8 twiddle and tweak and I bet you can nail the sounds you hear. This is a processor for the 21st century, very natural sounding box. Thank you zoom for listening to us guitarist's.

I use this multi-effect one month from now. There are about 250patch available PCBS with saturated effects, little effect on its clear. Technology numrique does his job because I use the amp simulator Intgr which allows me to have a good enough even playing on a bass amp (Peavey TNT115)!
The patch is titables via software provides, but it was quicker to work directly on the pedals, which is quite simple.

A regret all of the same, the fact that the shift in manual mode or "Patch" is too long, not allowing alternate radidement on stage. Also, the device keeps the memory used in the last maneul, which is sometimes trsgnat because it is likely to use a chorus, while the knob on the distortion ets ... Drout. We must re-enable the con back every time we called him. Trs not enjoyable.

    SOUND QUALITY

The sounds are correct and Revenge trs there for all tastes, the patch plants are quite rich and very usable. Ings are not the DLIR with the effects too!
Pout I personally edit sounds particularly play songs in a ball, which makes my life so between changes. But on the whole range of I edit only one of its 10In (about 80 piece play).
I use a copy stratovolcano that is the case and even with the mic can I get to have the grain and tonality without much desire to take me the head with the pedals.

    OVERALL OPINION

Finally with a little back, the pedals are the best surra rapprot qualitprix because it is a high-end, reliable, with a possibility of PCBS very cheap (compared to a GT-6 ! home boss!). Another advantage for scne, the display is big and red and easy to read.
I also regret the use of the sampler a little trivial, and patches the call for which you have to climb or dscendre all banks (no shortcuts) To the prices can not have everything!. DEFINITIONS As for the scne is trs than enough, reliable (box mtal) simple, rich enough.

A full-pdalier level effects: distortion, mod, eq, delay, rev and ZNR (gate not very late)
Ditables digital-effects in almost all parameters, with a computer with software so editable.

Rack-not (but then use a pdalier ask rack legs flexible)

    UTILIZATION

-The use is simple if you take the time to read the manual, and becomes intuitive trs
-The edition is fairly simple even if the influence of some paramtres is a bit difficult to capture
-The manual is complete unless the influence of certain paramtres (if you do not know if totally me-)

    SOUND QUALITY

Fective sound effects-even if I find the effects of plant little thin, but trs fun! This is not a pro tool in my opinion, whatever I did not test with a pwr clean, the hum is omnipresent and some effects even with gain at 0 even when running in the background (phaser. ..).
    -Guitar
-So far not too prferances, the wah is not great, even if the bank 6b contains funs sounds but in my opinion unusable without modification)

    OVERALL OPINION

    -Sold ...
FUN-sounds and effects ditables-super, the less buzz and breaths.
    -Not as complete
    Trs-right
-No, I will be aiming to be the pedal to the unit or other multi effect more clean, but everything depends on the use, I do not use it myself ...
