I needed a multi effects unit as my collection of trusty old anolog stomp boxes was getting too big to manage. I tryed out the Boss ME-50, the Digitech and the J-station before i spotted this little beuty.
Got it for $600 (Aust) new from a guitar shop sale. This unit blew away the others. Spent 3 hours in the shop just going through all the sounds - amazing.

Comes with software so you can design your own patches, built like a brick dunny, possibilities are endless.
Also the distortion feature kicked arse, you can model just about anything!

Not much to dislike, my girlfriend doesn't like the amount of time i spend tweaking the patches on the computer( i dont mind at all). Expression pedal is a bit weak.

Solid as a rock! 4 seperate pedal switches to change between patches on stage. Easy to use once you get past finding out what does what, LED is good for gigs. Great distortion and good crisp clean effects.
Expression pedal weak.

Fantastic bit of kit, outdoes all units in this price range. Ive got a crybaby so the poor expresssion pedal doesn't worry me. Suits any style of play.

All main effects are REPRESENTATIVES + expression pedals, everything is adjustable on front panel (no menus incomprhensibles barbarians). Gfx8 The software comes with a zoom. At the rear is a MIDI input and output that can connect to a computer! The advantage is that you treat all your sounds on your software (and more enjoyable prcis) and you can store your sound libraries on your hard disc: you charge one you want when you want!
important! There is a site user gfx8 on which s'change sounds! Ex: I was looking for a wah clear and impossible to find a rglage that I really liked ... I left a message on this site and the next day a girl from Canada (French) sent me that she used (the class too)! Since then, I use it on scne! (Www.fineclaymatrix.co.uk)

UTILIZATION

The original sounds (240, I think) are good, but it is best to rework the ones you are using. The simplicity comes from the buttons: all rglages are faade! You can rename your sound as you please (as the title song, for example ...) everything is pretty simple, the manual is clear

SOUND QUALITY

Trs good clean sounds, distos, not enough I got funky sound, but simple CRER trs!

I use a strat US gfx8

I love the clean sounds, chorus, the trmolos the rverb ...
The function allows you jamplay sampler and play a riff without your cheeks (large effect on the public Live!
Another feature allows you to sample a solo that you love and to slow the Tone for the same work (not tried !!...)
you can also re-create the sound of legendary amps, if you have not one ...

I love being able to change the sounds with the Entire Earth (I have 33 banks of 240 sounds from the 4 corners of the world and crs from gfx8. While some are similar, but c ' gnial and is not heavy at all Tlcharger)
Manufacturing is strong trs (mtal). Damage whatsoever comes in a cardboard container and not stronger. Be careful not to abuse power, which is not solid trs (not standard!)
The price has dropped since I bought it (its release) and yet I have never regretted my purchase!

SOUND QUALITY

Distos gniales and varied, some sound synththiques .. But others are really good trs
Good chorus, multiple reverbs, delays etc. .. Excellent "Pitch Pedal" competes with a WH-4 Whammy!
For the Wah-wah .. All dpend style: wahwah mtal / lead not terrible (not trs deep, do not expect a CryBaby!). But if however you like funky wah-wah, light is more than correct.

I play with a Lag Rockline Metalmaster and I have a good sound, I am satisfied

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 8 months. And I do it again this choice.

One last thing: the opinions / rumors like "Zoom it to the stew," a zooming poor due its reputable mini multi-effects (zoom 506, 505 etc. ..) low-end that are incomparable to multi-effects more .. srieux. The GFX-8 is the road against the Boss GT Toneworks Korg, Digitech GNX.

UTILIZATION

The GFX8 Has Designed for scne well. (For my part, at a concert, I did two times lower than the rack to put the fingers: a time to turn the deuxime for dye)
The GFX8 is a good "rack complment" because sometimes it could be used only to find the limits.
For my part, I use it in complment of external pedals (mtal Distortion, Compressor, qualiseur), and it gives me any satisfaction.

The effects are those that are usually found on such pedals: phaser, flanger, delay, reverb ...

It's digital. The connector is standard, there is no USB and no XLR.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are quality. It should not be too much to ask because they are not as customizable as a GT-6 and the sounds are less fine but it is much more efficient (I have owned and used the two pedals has the same period). The distortion is better to my taste than the gt-6. To take full advantage you must connect the pedals on a good sound system and is the top (I also loved the chorus).

OVERALL OPINION

I used it for several years, I am currently working on a Roland VG-99. I tried many pedals and pedals. I think it is effcient to work at home and play in groups. It is less, the parameters are less flexible than boss, but what he does he does very well.
