GETTING STARTED

The preamps are very quiet and light blows only when the pots are thoroughly, for against the microphone gain is very disappointing because you have to put the turbines almost fully for drinking something with dynamic microphones (not tried with static) .

OVERALL OPINION

At first I thought I had made a bargain with this interface because I was looking for material that allows me to record without breath and gives another dimension to my songs;
Unfortunately, with hindsight (and ear), I realize that this is a good deal, first of all because of what the preamp gain clearly insufficient and also, as noted TRUBAC rightly, because of its very cold in spring, its quite "digital", I felt, after listening to a song composed, that it lacked relief, space, professional quality (though I use very good virtual instruments and effects very well).
However, with an adjusted price (€ 309 now), this interface is nevertheless a good choice for low budget (like mine) and I think that apart from the models of RME, MOTU and Mackie are a tone above, the FA-66 is located in the top models of other brands of firewire audio interfaces, since it can record with a certain breathless quality ... but we must recognize that in my ear, there's something missing in the sound that emerges.
if I were to buy a digital audio interface today while remaining within the reasonable price issue, I think I would make a financial effort and I let perhaps more tempted by the MOTU Ultralite for as has TRUBAC, interface appears to be accompanied by very good reviews ... although it must add 200 € more from the FA-66 which is not nothing.

So ... Characteristics. 6 I / O connector bushy, firewire, low latency .... etc ...

For use? Reason, live, future use of such Device keyboards, groovebox ...

I use Live, Cubase, Reason and the demo (not the money to buy the full version)

OVERALL OPINION

I use this card for 2 days, I'm really happy! I had tried anything else before I trusted the reviews for AF! For now I love it, my c bibiche to me! + I would when I back to expose the negatives of the beast. I do not regret my € 399, again thank you playback! When they say "it happens Tuesday," well it happens Tuesday. C a good map, I advise you all! (+ If you have money than I take the FA-101 is + I / O)

Well, I have no complaints, it is still going strong. After several trials in cubase with 8 audio tracks, 10 MIDI tracks, many effects, plugins (Intakt, Vokator, Battery, Cosmogirl2k, Minimoog), I arrived at approx. 8ms. A 3 ms, crunches, artifacts ....

Oh yes!! I have a very important thing to say, but not on the card for laptop manufacturers: FireWire why are they so small and easy to disconnect? A friend on his computer, the firewire just above the DVD drive. So it must disconnect the card to put a disk ... In my case, it is located at the front. For example, just as I lean too much on the screen, I touch the wire slightly to dislodge the plug, and power ..... STOP.

Well, it's been over a year there ... Hem ... I think my ear has evolved. She starts to warm my ears a little card. The preamps are just hyper, too much compression, I always want to push the volume, ugly c ... snifouille. Since I changed my pc, so with my HP dv4000 no complaints about the location of the firewire card.
