Impeccable installation and well explained by m-audio but manual pdf on the other hand ...
Drivers updated. But I remember at the time I had problems but the config after sales in m-audio service was impeccable they helped me directly!
I got a good latency with adobe audition and reason.

OVERALL OPINION

I had used long! Content but I had the preamp coupled with XLR inputs for .. So namely, starting from its well know chain (from the sound source to the speakers) to see if it does not you rather be a card that has directly XLR preamp.
+ The plus is that it does not really big flaw ..
- The least is that it requires an external power supply of portable, just where it would be nice that she did not need (because of the small pin firewire on laptop computer).
- By the time the computer did not recognize I had to turn off and on, see both restart the computer .. I realized with the time it took the light before turning his computer .. or vice versa I can not remember and all back to normal.
Good value for money! yes!

I bought this card for its good Audio specifications (good signal / noise ratio, number of possible routings, e / s digital and analog, and MIDI I / O) and its connection to the Firewire connection to my laptop.

I use it mainly behind my preamp "Audio Line" to the registration and as a sampler with Software Reason Adapted included in the package.
One complaint level characteristics: the unbalanced inputs on RCA ...

UTILIZATION

No installation problems to report. The manual is clear, I would have preferred a paper version not minimalist ...

GETTING STARTED

The drivers included with the model purchased 6 months ago were BUG: NN19 (sampler) Reason generated random blocks of config ...! The latest driver provided by M-Audio (posted two days before our concert!) Had definitively settled the problems. I guess it is now included as standard, do not hesitate to verify that you are updated on the m-audio site.
Correct latency in the software provided with the card and on the other.
The (very slight) problems sometimes on two points:
- The connection / disconnection hot (much improved by the latest version of drivers)
- The timing of recording frequency of the input SP / DIF: I had to reboot the machine to get to switch to external ...

OVERALL OPINION

This card is a very good price / quality ratio.
Robust, it is really a good addition to my laptop.
Question sound quality is almost perfect. No wind, good dynamic subjective, even if it is here that we can move forward with another material: there are better D / A converters on the market, but at much higher prices. And must still be able to operate throughout the broadcast chain that extra quality that is more the domain of FI than that of the PA.

The included software bundle is very attractive.

A few complaints:
- Nb the track a little weak (but we know at the beginning)
- I / O analog unbalanced.

In my opinion, an excellent choice for keyboards. Also an excellent choice for your portable affrir a decent sound card for a very affordable price ...

Id like to see some 1/4 I/O, a phono preamp, and maybe some line in ports. That would have been nice.

UTILIZATION

Its easy to use but my only issue is that the software always has had bugs in it. the knobs dont always work actually more often then not they dont but u can do what u need to in the control panel with ur mouse.

Ive had a few issues with it in the 2 years Ive had it. Mainly with the knobs and I dont think M Audio plans to fix this.

OVERALL OPINION

Good quality. Not the best for the price but it definetly gets the job done. I am happy with this card.

I'm happy with the card it gets the job done and it works with Pro Tools but if I had to do it again I would have bought the firewire 410.
