Home studio use, making small personal records.
Config: 2 phones: a P4 2.4 medion ghhz, 2gigaRam FireWireTexas; XP
a Toshiba Satellite A200 T50xx 13V dual core, 2 Giga of Ram, FireWireTexs, Vista Premium.

UTILIZATION

The install; book with old drivers on the CD ..., update site via TC
Installation is hassle-free by walking against impossibility to use this card without dropout, and cell-free clik on two laptops!
yes I have everything on both virtual PC (anti virus, disable periph etc ...)
At my dealer this card works well and an old pc su cel (tour )..!!
(FYI I tried and bought a nickel FireFace800 works on two PCs and cell even if I am on the net with d anti spy and antivirus running in the background ..!)

OVERALL OPINION

Ben actually I do not understand, my dealer told me that the cell does not thunder there was the same problems with Sony Viao desport, THIS IS probably a problem of bandwidth on the PCI bus or bad implmntation of FireWire on the map that the coup is very insatble with a PC or other ..

Solid in appearance, plbiscite forums for global toy quality audio ...

Usage:

I needed a good map in the semi-nomadic rack for live (keyboards), so no need 8 inputs / 8 outputs.
FOR run on two configs:

* A Powerbook G4 1.25 GHz, 1.25 GB RAM, OS X Tiger for scne.
* 1 Imac Intel Core Duo, 2Ghz, 1.5 GB RAM, OS X Leopard to prep the house.

UTILIZATION

Tests on three supports (the two prcdemment deficits but also that of my girlfriend, Imac Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GHz OS X Tiger).
It is the latter that the installation was no problem Droulez.
Update firmware IMMEDIATE, installation of plug-effects, IMMEDIATE recognition of the card, in short, a perfect!

OVERALL OPINION

Too bad .... Handsome, the "solid", the internal effects of quality seem interface when it works, looks pretty damn good and intuitive.
A problem of compatibility with some empty Systmes or machines. tested on three Macs and DIFFERENT perfect fit only one! It's a bit "in haphazardly," fortunately HOME Studio rglo on this and they gave me back the bbte without further formality.

In re the Plug & Play, more than 350 for a card intermdiaire nomadic quality, latency = + DRIVERS inexcusable.

CONCLUSION:

I return my old PRESONUS.
At least she is recognized by my IMMEDIATE machines, without installing anything, turns 6MS average latency, and even if pramps blow a little, as the interface lgre of scne, IDAL and it is easy to use.

UTILIZATION

Use:

So far it thickens. My home operating systems were not stable at all. The computer does not really bear this sound card (what had already happened with another card that I returned). To acquire a modicum of stability, I can download a firmware + update an old driver.

I was barely able to register (cuts, drops outs). Drivers are updated fairly regularly I think. I think the latency was quite low, but the software supplied with (TC NEAR) did not give me any info and crashed and caused the whole system with him.

Listening from the computer was impossible. No sound.

However stand-alone use was clean, I enjoyed a few hours of the reverb - very good quality.

Implementation:

The installation itself was made without problem. Incompatibilities obvious to anyone with an HP Pavilion I strongly recommend this choice.

I think the map is very good but compatibility with my computer was impossible.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall opinion:

Useless if I can only enjoy the stand-alone card.
I will not repeat that choice, I go home I have more than enough Mac incompatibilities.

Neutrik input jack / XLR slammed so I'm pretty neat stuff in
Problems of signal outputs which leaves only intermittently now, when more than 3 hours of use
LAMENT considering the price paid, quality review which explains the small year warranty ...

Problems start here. With my configuration, the drivers aren't reliable at all. The computer didn't support my sound card at all (it already happened to me with another sound card I had to return). To get a minimum stability, I had to download a firmware + an old driver update.
I could hardly record audio (lots of drop outs). I mean, the drivers are regularly updated. I guess the latency is short enough, but the software provided (TC Near) doesn't gave any info about it, it crashes and crashes the whole system.
Computer monitoring was not possible. No sound.
However, it was ok in standalone mode: I took advantage of the reverb quite a few years (very good quality).

No installation problems. Obvious compatibility problems. I strongly advise all HP Pavillion users against this product.
I think the sound card is a high-quality product but it is totally incompatible with my computer.

Overall opinion:
This sound card is useless considering I can only use it in standalone mode.
I would not buy it again. I'll buy a Mac because I'm fed up with compatibility problems.
