1 Saffire Pro24 dsp with thunderbolt hub with firewire on Windows laptop?
Does anyone have any experience using saffire Pro 24 DSP through a Thunderbolt hub that has firewire? I am getting a laptop (Dell XPS 15) with Thunderbolt 3. Focusrite recommends using Apple adaptors (T3-T2, then the Thunderbolt to Firewire cable, then a FW800-400 adapter or cable). But since I would like to use a hub (for also connecting usb drives, etc), it would be cool if the saffire Pro 24 DSP would work with a hub. Currently I see only the OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock (https://www.owcdigital.com/products/thunderbolt-3-dock-firewire). This has a FW800 port, but officially it is for Mac only. Laptopmag claims it works with a Dell XPS 15 (https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/best-thunderbolt-3-docks), but it doesn't say if it actually tested the FW800 port.

If the Saffire Pro 24 DSP can work through a hub, that would be great, as a FW800-400 cable is much cheaper than buying two Apple adapter cables (T3-T2, T-FW). Assuming I would buy a hub anyway, that is.
