Ableton Live 5 is a software that was given to me to try and I ended up buying it because I loved how easy it was too operate. This was many years back though. Also Ableton provides great customer service and tutorials on how to use Live 5 if you need it. This is a very powerful program and I think a lot of people just don’t know how good it really is. If you are coming from another midi sequencing program this one will look way out of wack to you. It really has its own look (interface) and it will probably confuse you. I had a tough time trying to use plug ins with it, I just couldn’t figure it out at first so I pulled out the manual and figured it out after about 15 minutes of searching and reading.


SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

It performs great and didn’t crash or get buggy. It will provide a good sound quality but.. No matter what program you use you will probably have to purchase some external stuff like plug ins or other hardware for patches and sounds. Most built in stuff that comes with programs now are really cheesy or have been used a ton of times so you know exactly what sound it is if you hear it in someone else’s songs.


OVERALL OPINION

I wouldn’t use this software today because I am so stuck on other programs that I have been using so this one just sits on my laptop and doesn’t get touched. Maybe one day I will open it up and just mess around with it. But I don’t plan on using it any time soon. Maybe the interface is the buzz kill, and that’s the reason im not fond of the software. I like easy and simple interfaces that can be understood quickly, with Live 5 it just doesn’t have an easy interface.

Live 5.0.1 -> a bomb just very very stable!

Dj is a wonderful program and is easy to use! Notice to the newbie, this program will not make you dive in the 15h boukin And that is worth all the gold in the world!

In addition, progress is tangible in this version, eg drag / paste is EFIN couraging!

It turns largment ... even with the SB

Be careful not tested with MIDI sync, but ke I have time, I'll start! a test! ...

No need to niker monaie the door by buying a Mac Powerbook G5 or another ... even if Live is compatible with PC / Mac for that matter! The prog'z trs is stable under XP (a version of premmieres again!)

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a little over a month I believe and I'm really happy (even more of my korg ke! Nah just kidding ...)

Short test, for lovers of electro styles all confused, or people ki consist of everything, the software is really thinking.

8 / 10 because I do not ke how to insert effects into the audio track or midi ... compensated with the purchase of a multi-effects worthy of the name in hard!

The software has major problems with performance, it becomes unstable from a small number of effects on each track. FREEZE function is very effective in preventing eat too much of cpu but no longer to slightly edit the tracks (live 6. can do it!)

OVERALL OPINION

I used the one for the past year.

What I like most is the faciliité of track editing, effects. All effects are interesting from a compressor and put limiteurqui are ineffective.

This software is the best in terms of audio editing, effects setting.

Recognition of the tempo of recorded tracks can give a big boost for the beginner!

The software interface is very attractive and possesses a neat appearance.

quality / price ratio extremely inadequate, however,> 500 € (call me Bill Gates!)
Nothing beats a good version in h20!

Hope for the future that is better optimized live6, with built-in effects and more "professional".

It should be released software for mastering special annex on live
