something for a beginner but still good

Ableton Live 7 LEPublished on 03/24/12 at 21:25
Ableton Live 7 LE is a solid music production software or a “DAW”. I have been using it off and on for a few years, just really don’t feel like I have a need for it any more due to the fact that I use FL Studio so much now. But Ableton was created to give a producer a very easy user friendly production experience.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Installed without any problems and the manual was extremely easy to understand. But one thing I am not a fan of on in Ableton is the interface. Maybe its because I have used so many other programs over the years that coming to this one felt so different. Maybe its because I have used so many other programs over the years that coming to this one felt so different. Also, when I try to rewire other programs into Ableton Live 7 LE I was having some issues, maybe they don’t let you wire whatever you want through it. Not too sure, but anyone who has used Ableton im pretty sure has had this problem (at least the people that I know that have tried it).

The sounds in Ableton Live 7 LE arent the best (stock sounds). You will def. need to upgrade your sound/drum kits and then you will be good to go. But almost all software’s stock stuff isn’t very good. But once you get some good plug ins you will be good to go and start creating good sounding music.

OVERALL OPINION

I really didn’t feel like I could get a good mix in Ableton Live 7 LE though, just with the mixer plug ins and the compression just really wasn’t too my liking. I had to track out and mix in Pro Tools a lot, but when im in logic or Fl Studio I can usually get a good mix right in the programs and now need to track out. But the speed of Ableton is great so tracking out is quick and easy. I recommend Ableton Live 7 LE to anyone who is just getting started in music production. But once you get rolling you will want to start using another program. Ableton will kind of keep you in a box. Once you go to Logic or Fl Studio you will have way more control over your music and automation I way better. So this is for beginners in my book

Installation is hassle-free internal and tutorial answers all questions that may arise! You have to log on the site ABLETON for the final code of the product and it is limited to a number of installation of the version (I think it's 3 memory)

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Very powerful but limited course into tracks and events! But that's where the "bottom hurts": no recognition of "expanders", "samplers" and other hardware equipment output. In terms of hardware entries this poses no worries (different master keyboards, APC, ...) everything is recognized, the management of sound cards is easy too. The product is stable enough

I'm thinking up version because I find its easy and enjoyable.

Trouble free installation.
I'm running Mac OSX 10.5.
Simple configuration.
The bundle is quite comprehensive enough and the manual (the lessons are always anyway).

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Macbook Intel Dual Core 2.1 Ghz, 2GB of Ram.
Runs smoothly.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 1 year.

Ableton is so simple that it works and live there for nothing better.

The only problem on this version is the clamping of MIDI messages to external instruments.
You can use midi controllers to control Live and virtual instruments in Live. But you can not use synthesizers or drum machines (to use the hardware to be the full version). It's really the most frustrating part of this...…

Before I tried Acid Music 5.

For 150 euros, and some is not so bad (the full version costs about 500 euros).
It's a little crippled (2 virtual instruments, 8 scenes, Midi Out), but the price is a bit normal.

I would do if the choice had to start again, but I advise everyone to do the upgrade later.
