Between thirty virtual instrumentals (one Drumbox squenceur with built-synth + a physical modlisation: sculpture), the 70 Plug'ins of incredible quality (including space designer: a r verb + EVOC20 convolution: a genus Sherman Filterbank filter), the integration of Apple Loops, EXS24 sampler fabulous, and advances twelve o'clock and audio functions well known to Logic (total automation + freeze audio) Logic is a veritable bomb.
Create sound, compose, arrange, record and master a single software platform, it is a joy everyday. It lacks a midi keyboard ddi Logic to perfect the ideal home studio!

Old PC'iste and former lover of hardware synth

Logic Pro 8, I have used logic for about 3 years, first Logic Pro 7 and now Logic Pro 8.

I used this in school, and now my company has a copy, it is $500, the old version Logic Pro 7 was $1000, what a bargain!

Wow, what can I say, this program can do so much. I mainly use it to digitally compose music. The midi instruments are much better then anything I have used, (although I know there are better ones out there), and you can even make your own by recording samples, if you have the patience. There are TONS of filters to fine tune your effects of both midi and real instruments, it has digital amplifiers that can make your guitar sound like its hooked up to the real thing! And there are so many choices, so many effects I couldn't even name them all. And with audio you can raise or lower pitch, slow down or speed up. And one of the great things with midi is that you can print out sheet music of your composition, which is great if you are composing for a band or orchestra. There are so many more things this program can do if you take the time to learn them.

The only bad thing I can say about this program is that it is not that user friendly, and can take some time to master, although it is still an improvement from previous versions. But once you master it, wow, you can do so much!

If you are serious about digital composition or mastering this is a must have, and worth every penny, if you are not serious, just stick with garage band, this program will take some time to learn.

The software runs perfectly, is a smooth copy, the audio engine reacts to the quarter turn! No lag!
I did not full so I do not know but it clearly is not impressed by a number of plugins .. much needed for me ...
No stability problems, no bugs to report.

I'm on Hard easily from 10 years .. Mainly PC, passage 2 years on a PowerMac G4 to go back to PC, then I came back on PowerMac G5 for 2 weeks after testing Samplitude and Cubase SX. I work on it full time.
What I like about Logic is primarily ergonomics, really oriented musicians! His plugins are great and the audio engine on the Mac is perfect! No more latency, small bugs in the PC versions!
I think it was worth every penny, it really is possible to make cuts to Z without external additions.
Today it is clear that I will stay on Logic / Mac!

Installation without problems, everything is guided with ease! No need for doc!

Yes. Tested on: Powerbook G4 + OSX 10.3.5, upgrade to Logic Pro 6 to 7. No problem.

If you have Logic 6, it is good to version 6.4.3 in Tlcharger Emagic that will open the songs saved with Logic 7 (you never know, may or help dpanner diagnose weird stuff).

In addition, most manufacturers of plug-ins (especially Native) made updates to their plug-in (to finally meet the standards fixed by Apple). By default, Logic does not load plug-ins that do not pass standard tests of Audio Units (you can force it, but means that the problem is fear).

In short, my recommendation: put OSX days, installing Logic 6.4.3 (if adj Logic), set days to plug-ins before installing Logic 7. Then apparently all is well.

Former silent dj not bad, but it profondment t overhauled. Instead of having a big hand for the trs squenceur and effects, and for lots of small instruments, there are now 2 large one for the squenceur, and for plug-ins (effects + instruments).

There are over 600 pages by hand, but keep in mind that the hardware synth o one would have 50 pages of explanations, explanations of the same synth in Logic are in résumé 10 pages. So it&#39;s dense and does not constitute an introduction to the technologies used (subtractive synthse by modlisation, dithering etc ...)

This evolution brings many good things: markers and especially the names of the chords in the Arrange window is a real treat (expected!), We can use loops fawn Acid (= apple audio developed countries), and apple loops (both audio and midi) can follow the chord changes (disables for tracks like the battery).

It's going. More plugs than version 6.4 but it is too early to judge. Some instruments (3 instances of Sculpture, Ultrabeat 2 plus a small instance of Reaktor and Kontakt) and some plugs not greedy, all runs well. As for stability is a bit too early to judge, but despite having accidentally unplugged my sound card in the middle of reading, the software did not crash and went all alone on the internal sound card. Stunning! I reconnect the bazaar, Logic is my intention to board on the external card, all without stop reading ... It leaves thinker!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 days. Honestly, I find the price a little abused (300 euros, especially since I bought version 6 a month before the release of 7 and no free upgrade from Apple). Logic after love, when we love we do not count ^ ^

Well like many here, I am an old Logic user and I just spent 6 of the 7.2. Of the 300 euros of hsit update made me all this time (how many years?)

Anyway, for me Logic is like the Gretsch guitars, there's as much elsewhere, but when we got used to it and you love his tool, we do not change for a few gadgets and more (or less elsewhere).

Plutt than rewriting a subjective defense of this fabulous software as champions of the race the upgrade from Steinberg or Cakewalk tend to want buried too quickly, I just wanted to point out a few things that is not often in the opinion but which in a few days gave me a lot:

- The possibility of gnrer of Apple Loop from a region of audio instrument. It can be delivered in an audio track instrument later with all their config (synths + effects) or as a loop when "bouncquot, in an audio track. As I use plugs under fairly intensive my power machine, such GURU for the rhythms or the Korg Legacy colelction has allowed me to bounce loops great speed while keeping the possibility to adjust the tempo or pitch later .. wonderful.
I prcise that the concept of slicing is something I know well (in Live, Recycle, Dr.rex, phatmatik, guru ...) but hey I find the ergonomics of Logic top level. Especially since they had the good ide to take the ergonomics of the "brow" of Apple Garageband loops (see my opinion on this app).

- Ultrabeat: I tap a few tutorial (docs provided, English magazine ...) and I think it will have to live with Guru dsormais. I love the sound of this plug. Needless to say we had everything we can as a means of RVer CRER of percussion: synthse, modlisation, samples ... anything you want as a step sequencer modulation and controllable by MIDI plus .. as you ask for?

- The match EQ that allows analysis borrows the EQ of an audio file and by comparing the current applied to the mix (or track) ... gantissime is a. It brings the standard mix in a master but allows beginners to compare its trade with those mixes in EQ.

I know Logic from V4 (before j'tais on Cubase VST 32 .. PERIOD dark incessant crashes .. I have not had the patience to wait SX, I switch and I do not regret m me if I have to move to Mac for a good .. but Mac OS X is the best OS current user .. and in my opinion not as a computer pro musician).

Good in the end even when they still amlior usability of the software ... even if I did not see that I needed more than the V6, I do not regret the upgrade pay.

Lacked a rhythm box to make Logic the most comprehensive package that level (although Sonar and Cubase SE are well up on the latest version) ... That's it. Particulirement and well done.
Conclusion: I'm not changing squenceur prs (even if I live to make live).

The installation was made by the store, Apple Audio specialist. No problem as the installer. Then the personal config p'a do not pose too many problems, there is the history of audio objects that is not obvious, but overall it's not too bad. The manual is good but could be a little clearer though!

I use it all for about 5 / 6 months.
What I love is that it WORKS! I could more than Windows ...

Cubase PC before I was, suddenly I quickly adapted, and in addition it works.

OK it's a bit expensive, but given the comfort of working opportunities, all plug-ins for quality, and saving time is a good quality / price ratio.

I would definitely do it again this election!

The insatallation is very simple ... Setting up your "environment" much less ... But accustomed to Logic will feel at home!
Note: The manual is also installed on the machine during the install which is really handy for a quick check info without leaving the Bible out of the closet!

In fact I wrote a little notice to go against all the nonsense I read in previous reviews! Between those who settle their account against the Apple Service and those that we spread out the config their PC ... (anything ..) It does not really advance the possibilities of LOGIC!

So for owners of PCs running even in logic 5.5.1 (as I was earlier this year), here's an info Capital which is nonetheless very little highlighting on the various threads that I read when I was looking for information at the time and even for Apple ...

IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE A MIGHTY MAC to run LOGIC!

Why?

Apple highlights that you can use the resources of multiple machines to perform a difficult mix. And it's true. By simply connecting two mac mini via ethernet switching to a four-way ... not bad for the price!

I migrated to Mac for 8 months.

Logic is the best app in my opinion for the creation and understanding ... It is considered "difficult" because of its system environment (which ultimately proved to be a major asset to work with complex configurations), but it is yet far with pro-tools as simple and as clear in use. Cubase and Sonar are drowning in features and menus without end that ultimately does not bring "more" real.

So if you work a lot with MIDI, or if you prefer to buy plug-ins + microphone preamp sutio and instead to put all your budget in a Pro Tools choose LOGIC ...
