Installation was not pos specific problems.
No incompatibility MAC (PC that's another story ...).

ADQUATION / PERFORMANCE

I tourn Protools on a Mac equipped with an Intel Core Duo with 2GB RAM.
The software works.
It's long loading unlike other apps (see Acid Pro).
The configuration with Mbox 2 is stable.

I used 4 months, I had enough ...
Why essay? Because everyone swears by Protools ... Why? That's a good question, I have not found the answer ...
MIDI management, I prefer to avoid talking about the same VST (vitons the fcheux subjects).
The effects are good quality still happy for the price we pay. Honestly I do not see any advantage over other apps of the same level (see Cubase).
I confess I do not understand this vritablement mania swear by Protools. Considering the prices pratiqus Digidesign Protools and reputation, I am very trsdus.

What is the interest to work with a hardware / software more expensive than the competition and really better?

I am new user to ex ProTools LE 7. I bought it Jan. 7, 2006 (with Digi002 rack) and resold the same 20 months. Nothing wrong at the installation. It plutt easy. Ditto for the hardware configuration gnrale. Surprise at the first launch: the software is in English. A black dot over the doc also in English.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Here is my config: Athlon 2800 + on Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard, 1GB of DDR PC3200 and 2 discs UDMA133 7200RPM 8MB of cache.
Protools 7 LE requires large hardware resources. Indeed I Exceeds 60% CPU utilization with 12 audio tracks in reading and 5 plugins in which an insert convolution reverb (Wizoo)! The other 4 taient a comp and a basic EQ Digidesign. I use Nuendo 3 and I can usually record 24 tracks simultaneously and mix as much (or +) with 3 different reverbs (home waves), a comp + insert an EQ on each voice, use of sub-groups with even other effects and I can not reach 20% CPU usage! Digidisign MRIT the sale of the new manner in which PT 7 plugins gre ... no comment
Also I had several errors and crashes due to DAE (digital audio engine).

OVERALL OPINION

I used Pro Tools LE 7 almost 2 weeks to finally come back without hsitation Nuendo 3. In short in my case, I make a mistake by buying Digi002 and Protools 7 and I ENTSO. This material does not rpond my needs. I will not go that choice in the future. I sold everything and came back from Nuendo 3 with an RME Fireface 800. This is the day and night! DSOL for fans of Protools, but for me this log do nothing more than Nuendo. For the quality of sound, a good mic, good pramp, good converters and is jou whatever the software used.

problem of USB bus power, requires one of etelechatg spcial drivers on the digidesign site (unless it is a maj firmware?) short after having to install a hack solution that costs the era ja around 700euros, we s'aperoit that phantom power does not work! (Tjs bp of power supply by USB!)
The registration of plug ins to activate them is a real galre

performance zero for MIDI, (that for pa sfait!, good mix (thanks to well-known routing pro tools). But the main advantage of this solution is the image sync and naturally we must pay a DV option for you. is a version normal performance "audio / video" no!

OVERALL OPINION

1 year, after working three years on Pro Tools TDM.
J loves the interface, the console emix and management of the audio signal in the bus. The possibility to continue the project on a pro tools!

On a PC moderately reliable (plonasme) with 256MB of RAM and a samplitude, I could edit and mix uen twenty tracks with sampliutude 48khz, with full screen video on a second screen and plug in many. With logic that is a real software for music, we have the same flexibility in routing pro tools.
