This is the moment of the free version. (It is shown at the top of the page AF product that it is no longer sold ??? ... I do not know why because it is quite possible on the Presonus site).

Installation on Mac fast and smoothly. Ditto for compatibility.

No need to Manuel, a few YouTube videos are enough to understand the mechanism of this sequencer.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Mac mini quad I7 - RAM 16 GB - os x Maverick.
Motu Audio Express card.

Operation and impeccable stability. Ergonomics and ease of use amazing.

A small example, the free version does not allow imports, I tried to copy and paste a Midi track made and exported in the cubase studio one and it is played perfectly.
It only remains to be assigned an instrument.

OVERALL OPINION

Of course, I can not give an opinion that part since I installed only there three days.

I bought it a few months ago Cubase Elements 7 which I think is a simplified version of Cubase 7.5 but I am extremely surprised at the ease of use of studio one in comparison.
For example, the string sounds are much better though few.

I did not know this app is looking at the test Cubase 7.5 Los Teignos on YouTube that I paradoxically found. Its impartiality, relevance (and irrelevance) make me here long service, a big thank you to him!

Once this free version well explored, I think jump to the Producer version that allows the import plug-ins VST and AU.
Value obviously unbeatable since it is free.

In summary, I find this app more than comfortable, friendly and extremely efficient. I'll leave aside for Cubase continue this despite the commitment that I had for this legendary sequencer since my Atari.

OVERALL OPINION

I installed recently, I must admit.

Feature I like the most: it's free, and we are not required to change computer, sound card and OS to use. And as I said, it was already enough to produce small models without problems ...

What I like least: there's no VST, and it lacks a dynamics processor for completeness. This suggests that it would be buying the complete version "artist" or leaving it as is and are taking a dynamics processor for an "expander" which allows clean sound with compression in addition to have a very clean signal ...

My situation was this: I had an old PC and an old sound card (SEK'D Prodif more, it seems that this is a RME in fact, finally it is very good) and I wanted to make the computer music.

Yes, but ... no way to find software that matches me, able to manage noon and audio with effects and virtual instruments is less than a maximum douiller and any change or drop.

And then I fell over, and then bang. I can do anything. Not perfect (it lacks things like a dynamic plugin), but good enough for what I wanted: to produce models and to practice. In addition to the simulation Ampire is very nice


Use perspective, the software is very well thought out and very intuitive. We can say that I enjoyed.

... and most importantly, it's free. This is the big advantage: it has the merit to exist, to be free, nickel and run on XP. It is still, say, advantageous. And it makes you want when I have the means, I take a new turn, sound card, OS, and the pro version of this software, which includes a basic version of Komplete (which is already strong ...) and melodyne plug-in, and still full of stuff!
