I tried other software like Magix Music Studio V2000,2007 and 2008,15,17 & Samplitude Music Studio and Magix Music Maker 2006,2007,2008, Prmium 17 three times, but when I asked Magix if we had used the midi synthesizer, c'tais yes, but use the sound of my synthesizer Roland E-50, C'tais not, shame !!! It's easy to set up. I use Cubase LE 4 ─ don't forget to update!!! The Steinberg USB key and also the software!!!
The manual comes as a PDF in different languages on the software CD.

PERFORMANCE

The software works really well with the io/2 soundcard or the Cakewalk ua-25 EX or Asio4all.
Stable software.

OVERALL OPINION

I've used it since March 2008, almost 4 years.
I tested other products, like Cubase SE 1.
Quality & price: 180 euros with the Alesis IO/2 soundcard.

Sequencer recovered free with the purchase of my sound card Native Instruments Audio Kontrol.
That's good since I switched to Mac and I was looking for a sequencer well not too expensive ...
Since I was on the PC front, with Fruity Loops 5, I was used to a certain simplicity of interface ... With Cubase LE 4, a small adjustment period and afterwards, I realize that it is more ergonomic! Simplissime what ... later, I have not explored in every corner, but I'm already very happy!

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I'm on the latest version of the Macbook (2GB RAM, intel clocked at 2.2GHz) and I have an external hard drive for databases, plugins and other programs ... knowing that I'm not just music on my computer, it is useful ... So, no conflict (for now, I hope it will last) with my current config .... is stable, it turns, it does not jump, no bug to note ... an excellent working basis in fact.

OVERALL OPINION

It cost me nothing, it is ergonomic and efficient and I have not seen the end of its capacity after 6 months of use ... if I see something wrong, I would put my opinion to date, but for now ... no comment! after all, Cubase does not become a reference for anything ... ^ ^

No problem for installation is quick and hassle-free. However, the transfer of the license is messed up, so I was unable to activate the software for months. I tried again recently, I removed the transfer messed up (I had not have noticed the option to remove previously), I reinstalled the license and everything went perfectly.
No inconsistency on my side.

The manual is extremely clear and complete for my taste, with several useful tutorials for beginners who want to know as confirmed by the core software.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I turn on Windows XP Pro with 2GB of RAM and an AMD Athlon Dual Core 4400. It's very stable, no crash and the software works very well.

OVERALL OPINION

I use Cubase LE 4 active recently, but I am very satisfied. Before its acquisition, I tested VST32 Cubase and Cubase SX and Cubase SX3 finally. Cubase LE 4 is the newest of 4, I find it more ergonomic, clear, and clearly better thought best. In comparison, other seem more "draft". However, SX SX3 and are much more extensive: LE 4 is a version very "light".

-The features I like most: its simplicity, clear manual, automation, design and the fact that he was offered (with ESI ESU 22).
-The features I like least: not enough integrated VST plugins in my view, can only handle little VSTi (8), no change in pitch or tempo via the submenu "Processing" ...
However, this is a really light version, and offered at that. Should not expect to have the equivalent of 5 in Cubase for free, either. No, any software, it's a bomb. But paying, there's better, necessarily.

Also note that the upgrade to Cubase 5 is possible, and we did at the same time save around 100 euros on the price of one.

The quality / price génialissime, and yes, I would do this either with experience. However, as two Cubase LE 4 will be useless to me, I turn instead to upgrade to Cubase 5 in the future.
Edit: After some months of use, I come here not to change my opinion but to state the limits of software:

No Remote, and impossible to use Cubase LE 4 with Ableton Live (for example).
