I encountered no hardware incompatibility.
I did not need the manual to turn it on, to really understand by against the beast and tried to manage at least 50% capacity I bought the official guide.

I used it from 2005 to 2010
I was working on VST32 cubase, cakewalk pro audio 8, cakewalk sonar 5.
I started working with the SX3 in my installation in France. The fact of attending studios homes where everyone is registered on the SX3 or protools made me do it. If not personally, at that time I had a preference for products cakewalk.
The special feature I liked best without hesitation, its perfect management rewire. Cubase and Reason in the master live in rewire, vst instrument in fruity loops while running without crashing!
The value for money is nickel, it is a good investment.
Yes I would do with the experience that choice, even if today I went on cubase 5

Cumbersome and tedious installation:

The software works well but eats and eats CPU resources. trslger not all. it is rapidly slowed down when using more VST Ohmforce type and I do automation.

OVERALL OPINION

I find the software still expensive and it took me some time to get the DCID acqurir! The key policy is ridiculous and annoying compltement and especially it is fragile! And this does not prevent the software be pirate! And designers should be aware that pirated software is Russian will eventually be purchased by his employer! A kind of BMD with a longer time!
Using other software professionals in other fields and more expensive but less "anti security security at all" (and less cracks!) I find this idiot to piss off the buyer of the software : this alone makes me lower the note.

- It's more than enough for a couple of tracks, with MIDI and more.

- My computer crashed when I run SX3 because there was the sound card of the computer that fesait conflict with the pod xt, but it was enough that I remove completely the sound card of the computer and it was in cubase set.

OVERALL OPINION

- I use it since September 2005
- I find it extremely easy to use, the effects I use them because of the Quantity already present in the pod (with 3 packs of effect), the interface is ergonomic, customizable, who could ask for more?
- I tried other programs like samplitube, SoundForge and other freeware sx3 but still one that suits me the most.
- Well for the price when a student is expensive! But it's worth Vallue.
- If I had to redo the election, yes I would do now.

Steinbergs Cubase sx3 is a great program for audio production. You will be able to compose great songs with the Cubase line of software. I have been using Cubase sx3 for a while now and its very similar to the other versions of Cubase software. I ran it on a windows xp computer with 3gigs and it ran very well and fast.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Most of the stock sounds that come with the program I didn’t use. I am never a fan of the stock sounds that most programs come with because most of them sound thin and not full and well rounded. But after purchasing a few racks I was right in the mix and started making great music. I love the midi control with this program you can sync all of your gear up right away and very easy. Not too mention the ability to edit your midi notes, which is very easy.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall it’s a powerful program but in my opinion since I wasn’t using any stock sounds and rewiring fl studio into this program there really wasn’t too much of a need for the program its self. Most other high quality music production software’s are just like this one, and for the price its about the same as all of the other softwares. But Cubase continues to come out with upgrades and keep improving on the product that they put out so hopefully they will find a way to separate themselves from all of the other midi softwares that are on the market today. I suggest trying other softwares if you are just starting out though, they navigation through Cubase sx3 can get to be a bit overwhelming if you are new to it. But if you are a vet and understand programs like these then Cubase sx3 will work perfect for you and you will be creating music in no time.
