yoTrakkz's review"I love this program!"

Steinberg Cubase SX 3
I had absolutely no compatibly issues with Cubase, it works perfectly with my windows computer and can be rewired with fl studio and a few other smaller programs that I use. The instruction manual will give you everything you need to get up and running and to get started without a single problem. So definitely read your manuals because at first Cubase can be a little overwhelming if your coming from another program. But once you learn the basic of the program you will then automatically learn the more advanced stuff on your own.

The configuration of this software is very stable and I have had zero crashes since I started using it a year ago. I get a high performance out of this software and it used low CPU unlike other programs that will swallow your CPU hard! This software (cubase) also comes with some stock sounds and presets that will blow your mind. Its ready to create wonderful music right out of the box. Most of all the options you need to work your way through the program are right in front of you with the main menu options.

The best thing I like about this software is its compatibility with so many other programs, and you can rewire it or use it as a host. It comes ready right out of the box with industry standard sounds that other programs done come with. If I had to get back again, I would have chosen this software first over any other when I first started producing. This is my first go round with Cubase , but I am very satisfied with this product and I will continue to stay with them and upgrade to the next version or to every version for that matter when they come out. I definitely recommend this software to all producers.

Steinberg Cubase SX 3
I used Steinberg Cubase SX 3 for a brief while before I switched systems and changed over to Pro Tools a number of years ago.  I ran SX 2.0 for the most part, but also ran this version for a little while.  This version is now pretty outdated, but it does still float around there.  I didn't have any issues as far as installation goes, as it was a pretty simple process overall, however, after using it for a little while I did have some performance issues which I will speak more about in the next section.  As far as the interface of Cubase SX 3 goes, it is definitely better than its predecessor in 2.0.  It is easy to use and offers up a lot more features as well.  The manual for SX 3 is pretty complete, but I didn't need to consult it too often since it is a pretty easy piece of software to use.

When I ran Steinberg Cubase SX 3, I ran it on a Hewlett Packard Pavilion dv8000 lap top.  The computer had a 3.0 GHz single core processor and 2 GB of RAM.  I was also running SX 2.0 on the same system before I upgraded up.  However, I found that 3.0 wasn't as friendly in terms of performance as 2.0 was for whatever reason, which is part of the reason that I switched over to a Mac and now run Pro Tools.  Every so often I would get some error messages and the whole session would crash, which is definitely not something that I was interested.  I was able to recover the session afterward without a problem.  While it didn't happen often, it was often enough where it became annoying.  However, as far as the performance of the software in terms of speed, I was able to run the software just fine with a good amount of tracks and plug-ins...

While Steinberg Cubase SX 3 is definitely a powerful piece of software, if you're interested in a sequencer of this type, I'd recommend looking into the newer versions of Cubase.  Although I haven't used the new ones as extensively, they have a better interface and offer up more plug-ins and better performance.  Having said this, SX 3 is a fine piece of software on its own that will get the job done for the most part.  If you're looking for your first piece of recording software and are on a tight budget, but like the Cubase family, it might be worth it to get this version and save a bit of money if you don't necessarily need all of the new features that come with Cubase 4 and 5.

Steinberg Cubase SX 3
(Originally written by dj Alec Trusk/translated from Audiofanzine FR)
No installation problems. Very quick...

No incompatibilities.

Very easy configuration.

AMD 5000+ Dual-Core, 3 GB Ram, 500 GB HDD, Audiophile USB sound card

The software is pretty stable.

I've been using it for two years. I won't change in the near future...

Pros: everything...

Cons: none...

I tested Cubase SL2 and Cubase VST 5 and I find the SX3 version is the best one.

A bit too expensive but it's worth it.

I'm pretty sure I'd buy it again.

Yes, but you have to install, at the beginning we try a little, that's the extent of software

The config changed often, I have not had a problem with different config, RAM and sound card greatly affect its operation

Steinberg Cubase SX 3
installation without problem.

Yes stable, everything is ok at the technical level.

This version of Cubase SX3 is the most stable and most complete of all versions.

DO NOT cder to + mirrors larks new features in version 5 or CUBASE CUBASE 6, but at the cost of a philosophy diffrent well in the management of some parameter.
- VST plugins presets to the new application format "vst3preset" which is a format Cuabse Owner '5 / 6
- The impossibility of manually back up these so-called SETTING THE VST plugins and the obligation to go through the MediaBay, gre by Steinberg
- MediaBay, like all "virtualization library of deals, is to be much more dangerous than leaving the user grate by him even its own records.
Indeed what intrt Defines the amount of adjectives associated with WAVs, AIF, etc.. if it is to risk the whole day on one computer changes.
If you have a computer at home and in the studio, it becomes ingrable.

Although there is sr VST Expression, but I think it is a mirror for larks, it will take as given that the following plugins QUALITY. I mean, for example those of an artist can prfrer (example for me, "Synful Orchestra, Wivi Band," The Trumpet "," The Sax Brothers "and other exprimentaux). But the only follow this new standard (VST Expression) are Vienna (very nice but extremely coteux!) or ... Halion!: I think for the orchestra, General MIDI sounds amliors, but with an orchestral Halion, bah veil "shouts".
the old "Tchaaaaaang, Tchaaaaaaang" strings ... I like the vintage but l. Here I prfre Synful Orchestra /
(Some examples in music "contemporary"
# p/u/22/HEgzIUESU-I
or the Reaktor. But those are not pass the VST Expression.
In addition to CUBASE 5 always ATTENTION the compatibility of old VST plugins one, some simply do not walk more!
When the VST Bridge caused me directly at my crashes.
More DirectX plugin no longer!

Strangely I have not spoken with version 5 as SX3, just to say that I was still with CUBASE SX3 now late 2011 and put my CUBASE 5 days I'm using it more.

SX3 v3.1.944 is the latest version of Cubase valid. APRS is that Steinberg t bought by Yamaha.

Steinberg Cubase SX 3
Installation quiet, no incompatibility and easy and simple config (if we rfere in the manual of course).

Ultra software professional of all the door

I'm using cubase since its inception for ATARI computer (1987), with t pens to ATARI, its interface is intuitive and does not rev much evolves (not required). Against it by a studio all in one with virtual instruments, audio, video calibration on ... Endless possibilities when comparing one type recorder protools.

Steinberg Cubase SX 3
- Installation is it without problem?
without any problem.

- Have you experienced any incompatibility?
When I was Digi001, Cubase does not recognize her, I had the good ASIO driver but can not put (erreur.) I reinstalled cubase and now it works.

- The configuration gnrale is easy?
there is not much to do. If an interface possde multi I / O must be configured and you can save lots of preferences so it's customizable trs.

- The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
Aps I actually read the manual, I looked on the internet plutt when I needed to know something. But indeed we touch a little while to learn (well I always do as a)

- What is the configuration of your computer? (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Disk / sound card ..)
Pentium IV 2.93GHz, 2.46 GB DDRII, HDD: 160GB internal + 320 GB external sound card from Hercules Muse 5.1 and Digi 001 interface

- The software works he correctly on this configuration?
Trs Yes well, I dj record multiple tracks simultaneously with plug-in without crashing or anything rammer. (A hand that Digidesign ASIO ancessiter Reinstalling a)

- This software + hardware configuration is stable?
yes no problem

- How long have you use it?
9 months

- What is the particular feature you like best and least?
most: we save: the mixer with an infinite number of tracks, all rack effects imaginable thanks to the VST plug-in (many free), once we lose the least in all cables (quoique. ..), the audio edition, midi in real time, go with a tape recorder or other magntique simple. And also, and especially the possibility of recording space: the sounds are recorded on Monday (the studio to get a better sound) and we all the rest of the week or more to mix, edit, ...
the least: we lose can be a little atmosphere of the studio, we must remain planted in front of the computer (has No Life), and this computer must be relatively strong so quite new for the maximum capacity software.

- Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
I Mix Music Studio 3: Cubase 3.0 go, and WaveLabLite MasterUnit is equivalent, but older.

- How do you report qualitprix?
Even when it is expensive, especially that there are versions ultrieures, but when you think that has SAVE.

- With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...

Steinberg Cubase SX 3
Easy installation. some incompatibilities with RME Fireface quickly settled by the Swiss supplier of the product (drivers).
Easy config for anyone interested in sound and computers in general.
I found the manual a bit light for me.
I have often called a buddy at the beginning for reasons not detailed in the manual but when I need a function, I'm looking far enough in compréhenssion and it is not the purpose of the manual to tell all .

XEON dual processor, 2 GB of RAM, half Tera drive, ASUS, RME Fireface 800 ...
Machine installed with Windows Server 2003 and not XP (not flexible enough for music)

I often work 13 to 15 hours without restarting the machine when none or Cubase.
Even at Mac, I have not seen that. His running for three years and I never again anything at all maintenance or separate config defrag and an occasional cleaning (file transfer).
The perfs? Ben I run frequently from 15 to 30 stereo track, MIDI at the same time, the effects on each track (compr-gate-delay-flange etc. ..), a dozen reverbs and everything is fine people working without problems.

In general, I have more than half of perfs after that. I have never used the feature freeze. Well, I had to say it anyway.

Against by the start of the config, I edited the sub tasks and I am still a disk image. Worth for ten minutes, reboot the whole system in case of problems.

I started with the older versions and am now SX3.xx.
No such monitoring on large consoles to send a premix in the headphone of the singer. Apparently this is possible in version 4 but frankly I'm tired of ironing every time at the checkout!
Original effects that are worth nothing! If only they were in steinberg some reading! I use no effects of origin.
Good value. Something finally pro evolving but we need guys to talk more with Cubase musicos because I may not say but the effect worthless. For if I say? Oh sorry!

I stand at the moment but the competition looks increasingly VST so in the future, I guarantee nothing.

Ah, I've said I was not happy effects in Cubase?

Happy New Year 2007 to all. Full of music and small or large projects!

Steinberg Cubase SX 3
The installation couraging no problem. As against it seems to me that this software works only under XP. It's a shame.
No inconsistency.
I Cubase VST 5. Cubs 3 SX possde a more user-friendly interface and offers more possibilities (which I use a small part).
This is an excellent program that addresses all (beginners as professionals) provided to devote some time and its use to refer to the manual (which could be even more detail.

My computer is not puissannt trs (Athlon XP 1600 +). It dates from 2001. Yet it is sufficient to run the software.

I use it recently. It is true that the price is quite lev. Anyway it is a product of high quality.
