Buoght in Budapest, Hungary, in a famous guitar store. It was 21000FT (90$)
I use mostly the new Marshall stompboxes. I wanted to enhance and improve my solos and the whole sounding.

First, a compressor pedal is the one, that a guitarist adds last to his equipment. Once a beginner said: "this sux, it does nothing!". This pedal is very versatile. Helps to even the volume, adds sustain or cuts the lenght. Must have for funky riffs, ideal for jazz, blues. Virtually I'm influenced by Kirk Hammett, so it helps a lot, and gives a boost for those rapid ass kickin' solos.

Marshall pedals only problem: black marks on chrome knobs. On stage I cant see the settings. It's hard to set each effects to avoid being noisy. But it's a natural thing at using a compressor. By the way Boss's compressor is much more noisy.

Metal. Bypass swithch. Awesome.

I like this product. I'm playing for many years, but it improves my solos, evens voulume, adds something that brings out everything from my gear. This is the best compressor pedal you can get this time, and its price is o.k. as well.

Using compressor pedal with 4 buttons:
- Attack: is the "sustainer" that emphasizes the attack of its product (the "beginning of his"
- Compression: level of "crash". I do not like that word which might seem derogatory, but simply means that the sounds of low intensity will be re-raised, and those of high intensity lowered, so as to produce an overall sound more even.
- Level: sound intensity that passes through the pedal, useful for adjusting the volume pedal between active and inactive
- Emphasis: it is a bonus. It is a priori whether the compression is more pronounced on the bass or treble.

My basic setup:
- Attack at 3
- Compression at 9am
- Level at 11
- Emphasis on Hi

If I really want to accentuate certain notes, I increase the compression. Attention, increasing the compression increases the breath.

I place the beginning of the pedal board, making it much more natural end of a chain or crush it all.

Pedal will not make sense for a beginner, but is essential to the more experienced musician. Personally, it is almost always on ... but with sparse settings.

Input / output jack, power supply 9V Boss style (battery or mains), heavy and solid (all metal), a bit narrower than the Boss pedals.

She has what it takes, no less.

UTILIZATION

Understanding compression is inherently difficult, so I will not penalize the pdéale for that. It's easy for me, except perhaps to understand the emphasis that is not me really.

SOUND QUALITY

A compressor pedal always blows (except the super expensive), but this without any excess, which it seems it apart from its competitor the CS-3. That's what decided me.
The compression does not alter the sound (except for the compression itself) that is natural in both clean distortion.

Used with a Gretsch, it gives the slamming my TV Jones

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a few days, but I've been dealing with compression in a multi-purpose. It has nothing to do because of poor quality compression gives the breath and makes his "phone" what i is not the case here.

Strong, effective for a reasonable price. Perfect for me.

9 because no one is perfect!

Rather than not, this is terrible pedals! looks great, 4 pots are enough to make its own sound, we amme not need to read the user manual. UTILIZATION

Too easy, except for replacing the battery, have to use a screwdriver or a small piece. The swich is flexible, not need to press as a nag, I put the machine just above my amp's footswitch: the two are ordered at the same time very well, better than p dale type boss.

SOUND QUALITY

Terrible! It's hot, slamming the armony you break your teeth! I use it on the TUBE 100 Hughes & Kettner, MARSHALL JCM900 cabinet 412. It is an analogue type compressor mashall. there are 4 knob: emphasis (accentuates treble or bass), volume (sets the volume ) atack (adjusts the speed of compression after the note) and compression. any way you explain everything in the small manual. pui and the housing that is not really shit, the quality is excellent, marshall really did a great job of it. and then this look, that is so beautiful compared to the boos or ur quincailerie.

Finally that is a very good compressor, especially by its qualities and its price (75 euros). I have try 3 tablespoons of boos and I love him not. IT IS little more than a pa marshall. for the defendant and other digitech boss (you 'will understand I hate these brands) marshall try you will not love it if you pedal with character.

I was looking for a pedal to sustain the win, it does its job and does not color the sound.
My setting is as follows, almost a compression bottom (+ 3 / 4), the attack at the mini, and the volume adjusted so as not to hear a difference with or without the effect. The emphasis is set in the middle because I do not see the difference it makes.
With this setting and a ds-1, I really gained sustain, grow without sound, this is what I wanted. There is a little out of breath but with a noise gate no problem.
The sound deserves full marks.

OVERALL OPINION

I got this week. I never had a compressor, except in multi-effects. I try the boss cs-3 in store, I price it as the boss was too much wind noise limit of the tractor, its a colorful and rough, really nothing to do. The value and exellent.

PDAL compression
4 knobs: Volume, Emphasis (compression bass or treble), compression and attack.
Volume trs good because you can go through all the shades (0 flight flight too much).

SOUND QUALITY

It is the pedals that I score points in my opinion. I use a 50W all-tube amp Fender Hot Rod Deluxe type and a semi-hollow ES 335 Samick. So I still do not know too APRS year and a half how to use the pedals really, but whatever, with my rglages the feeling, the sound is l. The sound is warm and trs Submitted, sustain and slamming amlior (when the emphasis RULES left) Submitted superbly. I have compared the boss CS3 that I did not love.
I have not tried other since because I do not see what might miss.

- What is so special that you like most and least?
I love potato adds that when I play, I like when a pedal does its job, this is the case then I'm happy!
What I like least is the chrome buttons. It's super class, it will look good with a little vintage mister Edward but against any days you do not see the small level indicator above. This is unfortunate but it is good of the order detail.

- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
No! I bought a chorus on the net and saw this little pedal on the site, I broke down Since I wanted a lil spice up my compressor to sound.

- How would you rate the quality / price?
For less than € 60 I think it's great! The case is sturdy (similar strength as the Boss), the sound is good, not much wind, and easy to use, that you ask for?

- With experience, you do again this choice? ...
I have found nothing better as a compressor for the price (at the same time I did not look either!) Maybe with more finances would have more of the more upscale, but for now, is still a novice of the handle 6-string, I will not hesitate to take a sudden if mine was more in my pedalbord.

Like all pedals of the Marshall series is electronic means-end to its limits next to conccurants worth 3x the price but it works very well, is versatile, robust and designed for stage .

The compressor is probably the most effective pro and the most important effect of a chain guitariste.Il is good when you do not hear it but when it is removed, one wonders how it was to play without ... We arrive at this kind of adjustment with the Marshall ED-1, which is very rare for a compressor at less than 100 €.
