The effects are simple: the delay, and a little looper well hidden too. This will super slapback to Floydiens effects. I am really not in favor of the Boss brand (this is a good brand, but without much personality. Useful for studio musicians who must have all the cards in hand), I appreciate the DD7. Used with single 9V connector.

    UTILIZATION

Used obtained without manual, it uses fast! Few days to explore and use becomes very simple. I often keep warm for a delay to Thee Oh Sees, and it works wonderfully. The config is clear, even if live I think it is better not to fiddle: you risk to screw it up. Everything is simple, because it is direct: level, feedback, time, and type of delay. The only thing that took me a long time is the hold I never imagined that it could serve as a looper! Well, it is not the main function and it is not very developed, but it's good to know!

    SOUND QUALITY

The effects are effective and realistic, all depends on how you take them. Make it sound very realistic is easy, but it can quickly turn to the imagination the most total. Endless to Pink Floyd sounds clear, this is not my cup of tea, I avoid them. To be blunt: the pedal is really easy to use, but it is also fast to miss (especially live) if it decides to change its parameters during the song.

    The most interesting features:
    - Modulate (well then you do what you want baby). Feedback and delay time to 13h = awesome.
    - Hold (looper hidden, etc.).

    Less interesting:
    - The reverse probably 5min funny but difficult to use and unrealistic
    - Analog? Not so including interest, but it may come, it is revealed little by little.

I use it with my Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster 2008, something like, a Vox VT15, it sounds. In my stuff, it adds up to a TC Electronic Polytune black, TC Electronic Spark Mini Boost (a wonder by the way), an EHX Pulsar and a Big Muff, it will soon be replaced by a Way Huge Swollen Pickle.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a few weeks, the purchase was intended for a few months to complete a fairly lightweight pedalboard. I watched a lot of delays, really ... even if it hurts to admit it, because Boss and me is not it, this is really nice DD7. Very helpful, be careful though: when you tasted, hard to get to play without ... After a DD3 would probably work just as well, to see if you really use all the features!

Other delays seemed all too pro, too "pretentious" to be exact.

The decline is (a little), yes I'll buy again in a heartbeat. The price is strong but less than 100 € on occasion it's a good deal and a good choice.

    SOUND QUALITY

We find the very next "right" boss effects, we can not say that it is indeed a living, but it is happening all at once. By coupling it with an analog delay, we get all kinds of delays imaginable. Its advantage is to offer long delays typed pink floyd, that all analog delays can not do.

I used it mainly on a guitar, a keyboard, theremin, bass once ... It's very transparent.

After mistrust side "gadget" some effects which I doubt the musical relevance.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for half a decade, it is essential to put an atmosphere on stage. This is not an especially affordable delay, but it allows the pro or semi-pro to have a Swiss army knife of delay. Memories are missing in my opinion, as one can find on the X4 flashback or models by 4 in line 6.

but yes I would do this choice because it is a must :) and robust, as bosses can.

Who does not need the manual if it is known to use a delay is fairly intuitive. OK, you have to press 2 seconds to initiate the tap tempo (the Lumire changes from red to green and then flashes to the rhythm of tap) there mode "hold" with his looper but I have no manual and I n 't have not lost.
I immediately found the sounds I needed.

    Note:
    - The effect level at noon THE FIRST rptition that takes place shortly prs at the same level as the incoming sound. So that if we go further with the knob, the level of rptition is stronger than the incoming sound. It's a little weird (on other pedals o there's a blend commme EHX, it's actually the sound of that is down)
    - Tap tempo gives rptitions double compared to the tap. It may stepfather curious, but it's really cool actually. Because when you "tap" in fact gnrale you type on the rate of the battery. On other pedals, the tap is exactly the time delay. In fact it Gnant. Well I know if I'm clear but must try.

    SOUND QUALITY

Absolutely nickel: classic mode numrique transperant, the analog is friendly, may be even more true that some analog pedals that cause attnuation darker marks too.
Mode chorus is "weird" I'm not using it. The reverse mode is fun but as the attack is not cut (o one could be that the reverse) is not useful trs.
I like the versatility of sound, which allows to find quickly and a good delay, to change depending on mood.

    OVERALL OPINION

I have since yesterday, I compared with analog pedals (EHX Memory Toy) I did not like being too difficult and brand rgler c'tait and before the multi-effect (who did the job, but c'tait rgler and no hot tap ...)

Remains affordable for me to OCCAZ, and will remain on my pedalboard.

Namely, not all are compatible ps: for example, with my Bespeco and my Ernie Ball has worked. It works well with my DOD FX17 ... Charles will understand ...

    SOUND QUALITY

Unfortunately, no history of DD6, I can not compare this dernire. The sound of plutt DIFFERENT modes is good. The standard is dlais trsfidles what is sent in between (and tonnament can be "better" than my Eventide Time Factor, which would tend to shine naturally rptitions easily). The reverse can DLIR well, the method is similar trs trs well, and rest a little better than my Dfine Maxon AD9 Pro (which is quickly his "pteux"). Modulate mode is fun, not to say Gentillet. It's not bad, but my ears sounds somewhat artificial and, moreover, can not rgler the depth and speed of the modulation, then it quickly becomes indigestible.

I compare my long DD20. So forcment is lost in the DD7 versatile with what we earn in place on the pedalboard. The best on the bypass estbien DD7, the dynamics of signalne loses almost nothing, even disables.
The crushing of potentiomtre delay time can make zoins zoins laugh that will make fans of post-... (Put here your style of music gnrique). And may well go on easily as feedback, so please have these same people ;-)

We can tap in accder temp leaving the pedals supported two seconds (convenient, but live to muzzle break the heads into the air like me) :-)

Once we trouvune expression pedals compatible with DLIR may well (and unlike what I have said, we can CONTRL paramtres with the three p dale of expression, even simultanment). For my part, I gre the effect level and rptitions, which allows me to switch from one sound with a short time limit and few Submitted (more like rverb) a super long time limit and Submitted (for groundwater or for chorus).

Looper function is funny, and diffrent possible connections (depending on how you connect with the input and output, we can double the time limit time, which will appeal to post-rockers (though they , I believe that a fixette)

A small dception however: there is a spillover function (when the rptitions continue disables pedals), but my surprise (and, contrary to DD20), the feedback s' skin after a few seconds even if we have placed 100%.

    OVERALL OPINION

Bah, well this is drlement pedals. Its size, the possibility to connect an expression pedals, easy to get the sound of flies very easy (well yeah, that's the advantage of having 4 knobs ) and its gnral make it replaces my TimeFactor and my DD20 in my usual rig (TF appeared from time to time when I have the sounds spacial trs / spciaux but has become increasingly rare). It can stepfather thundering about a Boss pedals, but I remain silent in the face rapportpossibilits / size. truly a concentration of technology we like to AF (I told you that this statement would thunder for the Boss ...).
DCID, Boss is always placed in the compact segment dlais my opinion, even if no apprcierait a price slightly infrieur (120 euros would be really nickel).

    - "F.back" to choose the number of repetitions.
    - "D.time" to choose the time to recurrence.
    - "Mode" to choose among types of delay available.

the pedal has two input and two outputs (mono / stereo) plus an input for tap tempo and expression pedal.

the pedal is very intensive batteries, so expect a standard 9V power supply.

a built-in tap tempo can be activated in two seconds remaining supported on the pedal. I think it's great for troubleshooting, but it's just to help out pasque live is absolutely not practical!

    SOUND QUALITY

then noted that I use it on bass!
-The first 4 modes are the same as the DD-3, ie, a delay very clean, precise, well defined. it sounds modern, it's not the analog! but the result is really great. Note that the only difference between these four modes is the delay time of delay ranging from 4 "slices of time" (I understand). the first is a long delay, the second is shorter ... etc
-Then come the "HOLD" mode, which is made instead, gives you a looper to loop 45 seconds max. the superimposed layers (how? I do not know ... but a lot!). there is a slight modification in the loop, a little "dirty" (I say dirty, not saturated!) giving a small effect "vintage" very light eh! it is super convenient to work is expensive, call etc. ... was a feature I really like.
And come-mode "MODULATE" which is actually a chorus + delay. it's nice, but I was not too useful.
-Mode "ANALOG" when with him, is actually an emulation of the DM-2 analog delay of the same brand. not having tested it I do not know the sound is faithful, but in any case it was the grain of analog delay, a filthy can, with repetition that it had disintegrated progressively. is good, but I used too much.
-Finally, the last mode, "REVERSE", which reproduces the sound of a tape echo passed backwards. Personal love is great! it is hard to master, but the result is very musical, I used often. this is my favorite Presset.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for over a year. I try this model, and I immediately realized it was that I needed!
I particularly like: 2,5,8 modes, simplicity of the pedal, the output expression that I will soon be useful, the look, the tiny size, strength.
I like less, the tap tempo built, unmanageable live.
paid 100 euros used, then Q / P seen all the great possibilities and sound quality effects.
I would do without this choice eSite it I need another digital delay, but in the near future, I would add one more analog delay (probably the T-REX reptil II) with a real tap tempo for a simple delay. DD-7 used primarily looper and reverse.

it's a great pedal and looking for a specific law and may delay the getter it without hesitation: D

Boss DD-7 Digital DelayPublished on 07/24/11 at 17:41
Ah, the Boss DD-7. This, and it's brother, the DD-3. are probably the most common digital delays out there. You'll see it on the pedal board of just about every level of player, from garage rockers to arena-players, and for good reason. It provides solid digital delay tones in a sturdy package right out of the box with pretty minimal tweaking, and is very easy to use. It has "E. Overall? Not a bad feature set for a $180 delay.

    UTILIZATION

Tweaking to get a delay sound you like really couldn't be easier. The "E. Level" (Effected Level) knob controls how loud the delayed signal is. The "F. Back" (Feedback) knob controls how many repeats there are, the "D. Time" (Delay Time) knob controls how long the delay is, and finally the "Mode" knob does exactly what it says, controls what mode you are in. The modes are as follows: 3200ms, 800ms, 200ms, 50ms, HOLD, MODULATE, ANALOG, REVERSE. The number modes are just a standard digi-delay with a set time, but I assume moving the Delay time knob would override the setting on those.

The "HOLD" function is very nice, it allows you to loop around 40 seconds of playing, and it allows you to overdub as well. Great practice tool there!

The ANALOG and MODULATE modes are simulations of analog and modulated delays, which can be controlled by the delay time or Tap-tempo (More on that in a second). They both sound great, and I personally find myself using the Analog mode the most.

REVERSE is just... strange, heh. Can't say I've found a use for it yet, it is just more to screw around with.

Now, Tap-Tempo. BOSS did a great job on the implantation of this. You hold down the switch for two seconds, and then tap in the tempo. Works great as is, but if you want, you can add a dedicated tap-tempo switch that plugs in the jack on the side. Or if you prefer you can use an expression pedal that plugs into the same jack that can control the delay time, your choice.

    SOUND QUALITY

The DD-7 sounds great. I can't say that it really stands out among the other similar priced digi-delays, but it does sound good for what it is. The Analog mode is decently convincing, and is what I use the most. Does it sound as good as the newer TC Electronics delays? Probably not, but it has some great features that make it what it is. I do love how crisp it is, which may put some off, but sometimes you just need a perfect repeat which analog delays cannot provide.

I run it through the effects loop of my Peavey Ultra that pushes my 5150 straight cab with V30's and G12T-75's, using a Warbeast NJ Deluxe with EMG's. I play mainly Thrash metal, with some drop-tuned stuff thrown in. I love that it can add another dimension to my solos, and some fullness to non-distorted clean parts. Definitely sounds great all-around.

    OVERALL OPINION

What do I like the most about it? Probably the versatility and the sound. The Hold function is very useful for practice, and the Modulate and Analog modes sound great. What don't I like? The Analog mode could indeed sound a little more, well, analog, heh. I also wish BOSS could have added a couple of different modulated modes, but that may be asking for a little much.

Do I think it's worth the cost? Well, I got it in a trade, but I do think I would pay the $180 retail for it if I didn't have a choice. That being said, I think I would go for the TC Electronics Nova Delay or Repeater if I had to buy another digi-delay. I don't normally give an item such high marks in all categories, but this really is one of BOSS's great pedals.

The manual gives some basic settings. These are only examples, which do not allow me to find sounds that I operate, but gives a good idea of the different modes.

    SOUND QUALITY

Well, here's the part that interests us ...

I think the pedal is very transparent and that's what I was looking for. There are no effects that I hate, just the reverse effect that I do not use yet.

    The pros:
    Pedal transparent
Spillover (which does not cut the effect of abruptly)
Modulate mode that will provide me to buy a chorus (actually, I EH Small Clone, but I find it too colorful)
Hold mode that allows to record up to 40 seconds of loop (I put my Jamman tate the closet to make room on my pedalboard)
The quality of the effect in general
    no background noise

    The -:
I have not found yet, but I did that since day qq
At the limit, just the fact that in some settings donf, the effect creates a buzz sound unusable (I think it is a characteristic common to other delay, including the Visual Sound H2O)

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several days now. I bought it in a moment of acute GAS when I was eyeing on the sounds of Slash from GnR ... I googled a bit for the effects he uses and zor = command on the net ...
I tried and owned other effects, namely:
    - The # 1 Echo EH = I soon dropped as soon as one engages one loses the output volume. Then I found the sound a bit too robotic to digital, not pleasant. Finally the volume pot to blend it impossible to recover the output signal ... Sold
    - The Visual Sound H2O. This pedal (version 1) had the advantage to combine 2 = Chorus and Delay effects. I have not liked too much because it colors the sound, breath more than the DD7 and settings to build on the Delay make the slurry sound ... Sold

Overall I am very happy with my new acquisition, especially as I think it will help alleviate my Pedalboard Squizz in my chorus and my JamMan, which will allow me to have a simple chain of effects, potential buzz / hum lower ... Just a few pedals, but good!

If you want a transparent effect, quality, and not taking much space, go there with confidence!

His overall very clean and transparent, knowing the pedigree to forget "digital".

    The effects I use most:
Long delay (6 seconds): excellent, versatile and easy to adjust.
Analog delay: very convincing, I "used a lot in very short delay with little feedback to grow my sound. Having owned an analog delay, with the DD7, I do not feel frustrated, question of taste.
Modulate: a sort of combination reverb / chorus, also excellent, indeed "spacey" very useful to create a sound "ambient".
Hold: bénéfcie is a loop of 40 seconds, very useful for working the chorus or to compose / arrange a guitar part.
Tap tempo sync very useful and easy to use.
Reverse: only real shadow on this rosy picture, not really controllable nor very convincing, so I do not use hardly any.

I use it for 2 years after owning a Boss DD2 purchased in 1984 and recently sold, and before that an Aria AD10 (analog delay) which I keep a great memory.
In overall this pedal is an excellent deal at the price it was sold, when I bought my DD2, though less versatile, it cost me much back then.

In terms of sound, and more generally the analog vs. digital debate, I find very compelling and powerful enough.
And then it's a Boss buffer and reliability.

I would do without hesitation that choice.
