Ddie pedal only to delays, very solid offering 9 delays (vintage and modern) and a looper. USE

SOUND QUALITY

I use it for 10 days in rpeter and soon on stage, the sound quality is excellent, the possibility to store 20 presets (infinity midi) has t dterminante for me ( only 2 DL4 and 9 for the TC) is a style of Editors, Joy Division, Radiohead and I need to have my rgls delays on each zic not need any tweaking at each times. When I go on testicle veus a lil ride on deluxe MemoryMan and voila. The edition is excellent much better than other pedals, expansion possibilities exist, the connection of a pedal of expression is a breeze and the possibilities dcuple the time factor. For simplicity, we underfoot a delay pedal with 9 types of delays and a looper.
Each of the models proposed delays to setup two delays A and B with their own mix, feedback ... etc..
The pedal is digital. It can connect to a console (live or studio) or directly into the amp (or amp loop)

UTILIZATION

The manual is very well ... And especially essential! Nothing too complicated but it will venture into the menus.

You can program a delay, as with any matter, with a latency in milliseconds but also, and especially, according to the tempo. SOUND QUALITY

Having memories is really handy live.
You can get a lot of different effects, and the pedal is still be a creative tool: Eventide offers its factory presets of beautiful models and sounds of space we can still modify the environ.
We can even recreate the effects of flange, phaser, leslie, chorus (which are ultimately based on a sound delay) convincing (or even extra reverb).
But the basic function remains the Delay and TimeFactor shines in the area. It is certainly in the high end. Whether the delay in subtle or more now, I love what comes out of this machine.

I've had two years now.
The more time passes, the more I love this pedal. I more control and more I like it actually.

UTILIZATION

The Eventide Timefactor is a "do-it-all" digital delay unit that is know for it's studio quality delay sounds. It has 10 different delay types including ModDelay, Tape Echo, Ducking Delay, Vintage Delay, Band Delay, Filter Pong, Multitap and reverse. Then has a 12 second looper. The unit has stereo ins and outs with switches for both sides for line level or guitar level. Very convenient. It's many features can be controlled via midi, expression pedal or an auxiliary footswitch. The firmware can be updated via USB and a download from the Eventide site. It's very simple. Everything is solid when it comes to construction. The pedal and the switches feel like a tank to me.

UTILIZATION

This pedal has a lot going on and can be somewhat overwhelming to someone who is new to Eventide's pedals. But once you understand how to edit the sounds it gets very easy. You can pretty much get any delay sound out of this thing. The 11 knobs control an insane amount of parameters, if you cannot get the sound you're looking for it's probably your fault. The manual goes over each knob and how to edit the presets very clearly. One of the more usable manuals I've used for a pedal. This pedal really opens up with the 3 button auxiliary switch. I would completely recommend getting one if you purchase this unit.

SOUND QUALITY

I've used my TimeFactor for guitar, keys and vocals. It works wonders on all of them. This pedal is very silent and has true analog bypass. I haven't experienced any popping when I engage any switches. I was very happy about that.

More than any other sound I use the modulation delay and the tape echo the most. They can be tweaked down to the tee. I have a very nice Deluxe Memory Man sound on mine, it's very accurate. I also really like the multitap. You can set two delays to numbers in the Fibonacci sequence and get some very very cool sounds with that.

OVERALL OPINION

There is nothing about this delay unit that I can complain about. It was everything I expected and more and I have had zero issues in the entire time I've had it. I've used the DD-20, DL-4, RE-20 and a few other small digital delays and this thing takes the cake and more. The quality and sound is above par with anything I've used the price is sort of high but it's definitely worth it. I found mine on a forum with a auxiliary switch built by Dan at T1M for only $325 in very great condition. Worth every penny.

I tried this with a mate PDAL. I loved it.
The sound is clear plutt numrique, but the beautiful numrique, as found in such Elektron. With some of that heat diffrent some of the fat analog.
The sound is a clinical purity, but without the coldness or hardness sometimes found in the numrique. It does not feel weak or artifacts in the high rev and the sound is full.

OVERALL OPINION

I made a toy this evening with pedals. I rgal.
It exudes quality manufacturing and its sounds mre!

The PDAL is a marvel. Eat it good.

A beautiful plant delay as the name implies. The beautiful, very pro digital, creative, real box inspiration, beyond the common delay as the possibilities are immense.
It is truly intuitive and comprehensive. Large painful XLR connectivity had been a little more.

UTILIZATION

Everything is simple and intuitive! I flew over after an hour of manual hack for hidden features. Rather than 10 thousand explanations will try it.

I use a Takamine electro (tan 10c) via an internship pass 300.
Respect of the instrument is almost complete. 10c on my tan the sound seems to be slightly compressed, a softer-poilichon Crystal clear (this is the trick to describe that comes to mind) which is not unpleasant. The acute slamming my cool tube preamp (not as announced Tak, the best preamp in the world) is thereby softens slightly.
J'adoooooooooore all delays, all of which are very different.

OVERALL OPINION

A day of use, my opinion is very young but frankly, I tried the nova delay and after the Eventide and there's no doubt: format digital delay pedal and there's no better far, far away!
Ginning just agree and my decision was made (and still some crushing of buttons).
It has a huge creative potential.
Floyds lovers, of U2, the great outdoors, electro, acoustic, guitars (all hair and styles), singers, dancers, birds, herbs, bacteria etc ... All will want one and that, it's shit!

- No tap tempo mode presets on the bank unless you buy an auxiliary switch

In short, the final version of the firmware (currently in beta testing) is expected at a halt to make this a marvel masterpiece immortal.

UTILIZATION

As in the following opinion, I would say its use is very simple. The menu structure is very well thought out. Level selectors, can be integrated into any configuration. OVERALL OPINION

I traded my Line 6 DL4 2 months ago and I do not regret at all. If during the purchase of my DL4 (3 years ago) were the Time Factor, I opted for it especially given the price difference (approx € 50).
This pedal has its own identity which is felt at once in music. Besides, the modeling pedals are a bit "ordinary" even if they sound good.
What I like least is that, for now, there is no preset editor for PC / Mac, the USB port is only used for upgrades of soft and south ( Finally, I think we can use it like that), hopefully one day we will do Eventide surprise from a publisher.

Well, it was in this small boiboite (roughly 12 cm x 19cm, for convenient pedalboard loaded) one of the most effective time to date: 9 types of time, quite different from one another looper + function.
It's all digital, and that means less than any other digital delay is so well done.
To my knowledge, there is no editor on PC or Mac, it might seem excited damaging to the keyboard, but its absence does not feel hard, because the effects are easily edited directly on the machine ( its just a breeze).
The connection is more than complete (in full stereo jacks, MIDI, USB, with switches, pedal). A nice thing is that you can specify both input and sotie level, line or instrument. Chipotons: miss just a headphone jack.
The case seems very solid, the switches are nice. New small reserve for the knobs, they are nice but seem slightly below the rest in terms of strength (that means: less indestructible than the knobs at the Boss)

Manuel OK, not necessarily very fun when we saw Line6, but it's going overall. It looks like the Modfactor, side and less abstruse.
Oh, one nice thing: the System menu, you can choose the type of bypass (true bypass, or bypass digital plus another which I can not remember the name). SOUND QUALITY

Aaaaaaaaaah, the effects ... It's very good, there's nothing to say. As much as I expressed reservations about the Modfactor, which currently sleeps quietly in its box until my next crisis to revise my stuff, as here, there's no worry, it's tip top quality.
There is actually a double within 3 seconds each: double, because we have two independent delay lines, used in series (if it connects mono input). These two periods may have different tempos, different from feedback. For my part, I do not use all the time available, far from it, but I was pretty traumatized by the tape echo, multitap delay (which allows much closer to a reverb), the mod time (with some settings, there may be a chorus of great effect, much better than the Modfactor, a peak anyway). Some other time limits are very well done (especially the band delay, with filters on the rehearsals, to remake 2001, the Space Odyssey), but I'm not interested in relation to music I do. I would have some reservations about ducked time (actually, more because I see too much use that we can do) and the reverse, that does not work like I expect (it works differently from the Boss DD20 I think, but I can not say how).
Finally, the looper, I can not really talk about it, because I'm not at all familiar with such devices. Apparently he did a good job (still need to know loop, frankly, I downright evil, shame on me) and this function quite funny (to increase the playback speed of the loop to start the loop of Another point that its point of departure, ...).

The big highlight of the pedal, like ModFactor, the ability to assign the expression pedal to any or all of the settings buttons, opening doors rather incredible in terms of textures. At a high price, the timefactor comes with a high level of features. Some players might scoff at paying this much for a digital delay, but the features are great on paper. Two delays at once, bank mode, repeat switch, a large library of delays including tape, mod, ducking, reverse, and multitap delay. It's even got a looper. There's not much you can't do with this unit. The editing is quick and easy. The control layout is a great relief to anyone who's used a pedal delay before. Everything is organized well and needs little explanation. On top of that, the timefactor has midi and usb, and stereo functionality.

UTILIZATION

The manual is great. Really. Eventide explains everything you would want to know. I typically use the unit in bank mode. When I'm at home editing presets I just switch to play mode and start twisting knobs. I have used it with a midi controller and that's easy too. I have not used the looper but from reading the manual it seems very functional. The tap feature was a deal maker for me. I love the dotted 8th tap and it's easy to use on the timefactor.

SOUND QUALITY

I primarily use the vintage and tape delays with a Gretsch Duo Jet and a Vox AC30HW. The modelling for these sounds is spot on, and with Eventide's updates they are even better. The vintage delay responds just as it should, getting muffled as the feedbacks trail off. The tape delay also sound 100% real to me. You can adjust how "old or vintage" you want these effects to sound via the modification knobs, which is a plus. Overall you can get any sort of delay you need. Classic eventide delay sounds can be had or you can get some very ethereal sounds with the reverse and mo delays.

OVERALL OPINION

As far as functionality and features, this unit kills. I've heard a lot of people say the sound quality isn't quite up to par with a truly analog delay, but I disagree. I think this is a great sounding delay that delivers what it promises. The midi is great to have. This is a chameleon of a delay pedal in that it can fit any player's needs.

UTILIZATION

I’ve used mine in conjunction with a Eventide Space delay, in front of an amp, in the Fx loop, and in the studio with an Apogee Duet 2 soundcard. Can't be simple than this

Deep and powerful stombox, that sounds great, but can sound stellar if you read the very well written manual.



SOUND QUALITY

First of all let me say what kind of bands I like and play.
Tool, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Meshuggah, Massive Attack.
Ambient, trippy prog rock.
As also stated in my Eventide Space review, I’am a real delay and reverb junkie, and all I can say is that only this box can satisfy my needs completely.

It has the possibility to use it as a Twin Delay, with up to 3 seconds each.

Like my Space Reverb stombox, I’ve used it extensively in the studio too as an Fx processor, and It replaced my Soundtoys Echoboy plugin.
Use it on guitars, drums, synth, vocals and everything will come to life with just the turn of a few knobs.

The key feature is the Xknob.
Based on what Algorithm is selected, it is used to Simulate analog hiss (TapeEcho), select the number of bit resolution (VintageDelay), select the Modulation Wave Shape (ModDelay) and so on.
By now the 3 above plus the Multidelay are my favourite algorithms.

The Looper is fantastic. It can record up to 12 seconds at normal speed, and up to 48 seconds at ¼ of the speed (the signal get degradated at slower speeds.

The pedal didn’t colour in any way your sound, and it can goes from fat, overdriven delays tails, to Modern Hi-Fi repetition with just a few knobs turned.


OVERALL OPINION

The new dropped price is a bargain for what you get..

Usb Upgradable, 100 presets, and line in and outputs connections and you will understand that the price is not soo much after all.
It is however a really deep pedal, but if you read the manual, and watch the really helpful online tutorials (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHo9prBN1R4 ), you will have tonal options for years to come.

This is probably Eventide's second most famous pedal they have released. It contains all of their super famous delay algorithms and a looper. It's fully MIDI, updatable by USB 2.0, true bypass, can work in guitar or line level applications and can work in either mono or stereo.

UTILIZATION

Eventide did an awesome job in making this pedal. First of all, it's extremely sturdy and built like a tank. You could hurl this thing off the top floor of a building, and it should still work. The switches are extremely high quality, and it's true bypass so there will be no direct harm to your tone. The menus themselves are a lot easier to use than the rack stuff, I've found. There are tons and tons of features in here, so it's hard to exactly explain every little detail, so it's best to read the manual. The Eventide manuals are fairly long and a bit boring, but if you take the time to sit down with them, you'll know the thing in and out. The best thing is that this pedal is fully MIDI. You can have tons of presets set up and switch them all with a MIDI board. That means no fumbling around on the ground all the time every time you want to switch to different presets that are a few banks away.

SOUND QUALITY

The delays in this pedal are truly spectacular. First of all, it contains a basic delay. With so many other huge delay pedals like this, they forget that all you need is a basic delay for most part. That's a big thing I wanted. On top of that, they have tons of different delays such as reverse and modulated delay to help give unique sounds that can't easily be created with run of the mill delay pedals.

OVERALL OPINION

If you don't need any of the pitch effects that the PitchFactor offers, this is the pedal you'll want to try to get. It's a bit expensive, but it's worth every penny. The delays are top notch, it's built like a tank, has full MIDI implementation and is true bypass.

Only regret the impossibility of looper while simultaneously using a delay.
For the rest, the character speak for themselves, we are dealing with the Rolls Royce of delay.
Some details about version 2.0 of the firmware:
It has 20 preset banks, 40 presets, fully programmable, software-basically handled by the usb.
We can now reprogram the footswitch assignment.
The pedal can now go on a self-oscillation (feedback to 110%).
We have a spillover, which changes gradually to another delay when changing preset (and not only for the bypass function).

UTILIZATION

It is taken in hand quickly enough in the end even if not inevitably escapes the appearance gasworks. After reading the manual, nothing wrong.

I still took time to understand that by connecting an expression pedal M-Audio EX-P "had to put the" trim "at least to use it.

SOUND QUALITY

Quite simply, the sound is perfect.

All the delays have an interest and personality.
It is possible to achieve the same type of rendering an analog when you want to play with self-oscillation.
The loop is full of surprises with the controls it provides.

It can emulate ring modulators, the rotary, chorus, reverb and other good stuff that the pedal is not explicitly provided for it originally ... It was truly free rein to experiment.

OVERALL OPINION

I did that for two days, but I'm a big user of delays / loops and I already know it's going to be the centerpiece of my pedalboard for many years, regardless of my education (folk, rock, electro-rock, etc.).

Eventide is constantly updated, the last date of January 2010, and I came with ... This rule also the problem of spillover effects between banks, which was criticized by a previous opinions.

Ok we approach the 400 € for a stompbox, but it's really the ultimate weapon for those who want a hefty delay.
A set may be in competition with the Line6 DL-4 which models can be complementary. When I am famous and wealthy (...) I have the 2 and I sync via midi-clock? In the meantime, and after having tried a few, my choice was the Eventide and I would do the same if the opportunity were to arise again.
