UTILIZATION

Very simple, no need to read the manual to be immediately inside.

SOUND QUALITY

When you're all alone at home, we really feel like "the" sound of metal that kills death and we are pleased we can dream ... The problem is that if we will repeat with, we already said that a noise gate would have been quite as breath is important. In addition, you have to put very hard to hear behind the bass and drums, shot a lot of feedback from a lot of headaches and ... For me, unattractive compared to other pedals in the same price class who own fewer large defects.

I do like the range of tones, and adjustible eq they chucked on this model...it allows you to get all the other boss distortion sounds and adds some more sound to your repertior.

This is a great little pedal for practises and home studios...The main problem is that once you actually try and crank the thing up a bit, you lose all the tone, clarity, and in the end all you've got is a wall of muddy fuzz. I've spoken to quite a few recording engineers all who can't stand them and have some major issues making these things sound any good in the studio...
The other major problem is the amount of feedback you get with one of these pedals, if you want to play with a drummer, or at any kinda volume, expect a WHOLE lot of feedback...even with the distortion right down, nothing can save this one.

Boss stompboxes are pretty much the benchmark in quality...in the end after much wear and tear, i did have to start replacing a few things...but it lasted me pretty well

quite a good little pedal for practise, experimentation and home studio stuff...just dont try and turn it up.

I Paid 115 Euros for this pedal, Which I think is OK. I bought it in Modern Music, Galway, Ireland.

I like most the EQ control, specially the parametric Mid-EQ.

I read very good reviews about this pedal, saying that you could get any type of distorsion you want. It's not true.
I'm a fast player, I play 80's style SPEED METAL, and this thing can't handle the shredding, it all sounds too muddy, there is no clarity. I turn the distortion control all the way down and still the distortion is too nasty for what I want, no matter what I do with the EQ.

The constuction is very good, very solid, like all Boss stomp boxes.

It can be good or bad, depends what you want to sound like. If you want to play Classic Heavy Metal or 80's Thrash, It wont do it.
Maybe It's OK if you want to play some shity nu-"metal" and crap like that.
I'm dissapointed, and still looking for the pedal that will make me sound like DESTRUCTION. This is not the one.

i brought this pedal off a friend for $50 Aus (about $24us) who only just brought it new for $280 Aus because he brought a Digitech Multi Effects Board and didnt want it anymore. i got it because i play metal and needed a good distortion pedal

i like the rugged construction and the vast eq settings available

i brought this pedal expecting to have this monstourous bone shattering distortion, it does that pretty well but thats about it. this pedal sounds muddy , eats batters if you leave the cable plugged into it even if its off and you cant get any good distortion tones out of it , i play Metallica mainly and this pedal couldnt handle that for shit no matter what the eq and dist settings i had it on! sure this pedal is good if you play Pantera and the really loud ass music (which i occasionaly play) but for a good tone in a pedal this thing sucks!

the construction is amazing ive dropped it , thrown it and accidently spilt a drink on it and it still works fine the only thing that lets this pedal down is the muddy ultra high gain not enough control distortion this pedal gives out

bottom line this sucks if your a Metallica player or a player of any great tube toned band , its great for ultra heavy thrash but for normal Metal this isnt the pedal but this is only an oppinion , i much perfer the Marshall Jackhammer as it gives you a great tone and great controlability

UTILIZATION

This will be my only good for a note from the fact that the manual allows us to test sounds well-typed according to refined tastes, was quasimenet not need the manual and its use could hardly be simpler.

Realistic? Effective? ca not stick, I can not.
only good thing I really appreciate is the equalization, it is really good and can top out what makes us happy (or so should be difficult).
suitable if you actually wanted no distortion for the home. it's too personal for a live clutter. And even if it is dedicated exclusively to metal, I'm sorry (VERY) bitterly that the same drive in minutes, it crashed too much, otherwise I would have really loved it but ......

I put 2 because no home I qd even split with the pear, but nothing tangible enough for a component or a live, or can be exceptionally good or you might say to each his own.

The buttons are small and spaced enough for my taste, I prefer the larger knobs as the Electro Harmonix!

This is one of distortion pedals trs basic: one input and one out knobs .... trs is typ mtal as the name implies. But it can get a Manir rgl of his rock-hard rock type 70.

OVERALL OPINION

Bah good as any first comment I found in fact not bad at all at first but I'm starting to get tired serieusemen! Further in the description it is marked "enormous saturation with a minimum of breath" Well then not at all not at all agree! The blast took the lead, and the lack of heat .. heureusemen the tube screamer add this heat!
We can say but impossible to do with blues or rock or it must be coupled with the saturation of an amplifier and eventually we arrive at something .. if you're not afraid of breath ....
In short I am going to sell it and take something else ... now everything is relative and I think this pedal is to try several amps! But though arive, digital coming out of the AC lamp is not used much in my opinion .. finally!

I'm not a fan but when the same mtal. The problem is really the sound that is purely cold and numrique. Lack of personality. If you want to sound like everyone else, achte a mt-2.
Equaliser, however, trs powerful and effective.
This is a real disaster, it's fun to beginners but you makes you faster shit.
You take no pleasure (in my case) the play above.
It's a format that is sorely lacking warmth.

Mr. Boss, review your copy. Arrtez the pedals with rglages full of complications (see gadget) and faitent of pedals that really usable sounds, warm and a possdant tural personality.

Well just because it was the smoothest distortion of the Boss Hm2- and the Boss Hm-3, that doesn't mean that it sounds good. This pedal sounds like garbage. The tone is just horrendous. It is beyond me why someone would think that this pedal sounds good. I know there are a lot of metal heads out their and me being one but come on this pedal sound like trash. The tone is thin and metallic sounding at best. The control are easy but if the sound is terrible then it is like polishing a turd. You can polish it all you want but its still a turd. I am a fan of Boss and Roland gear because they manufacturer budgeted products for the consumer and their keyboard are some of the best in the business and of course they have the best clean tone amp in the world. Many of their pedals are very user friendly and sound amazing in certain applications but this thing is just a nightmare to play. The tone if you can call it that is just terrible!

OVERALL OPINION

At new you can find these pedals right at around $99. Way too much money for the sound that this thing makes. It really is a terrible sounding pedal no question about it. I would get a BLackstar distortion pedal if you need something that is over the top but also sounds good to listen to.

This is a metal distortion pedal. It has a load of gain on tap, a distortion knob, and a four band EQ consisting of High, Low, Mid, and middle frequency. It has an input, an output, and a standard BOSS style center negative 9V DC jack.

UTILIZATION

This pedal is easy to set up and easy to use. Set the EQ and gain to taste, the volume so it's equal at bypass and you're ready to riff. The manual is very clear on what knob does what.

SOUND QUALITY

This pedal does not sound all that good. It's harsh, fizzy, thin, and muddy. There's not much you can do to make this pedal sound good at all. It's far too trebely. It's a grating, harsh, fizzy mess. It sounds like you've connected your guitar to a can of bees instead of an amp. The best way to describe the pedal is a buzz saw. It sounds like someone hooked up a buzz saw instead of a guitar to your amp. It sounds a lot like Dimebag's tone, which, in my opinion, is NOT a god thing. I am always unbiased when reviewing and never go on bandwagon. I am reviewing this based on my impression of it, and that is, this pedal is too harsh and fizzy.

OVERALL OPINION

This pedal is ok at best. There isn't much you can do to dial out the insane amount of treble present in the sound. THAT is it's big downfall. It's harsh and muddy. For $99, there are many better options for a metal pedal than this. $99 is far too much for what it is. If you wanna sound like a buzz saw, this is the pedal for you. If you wanna sound like Dimebag Darrel, this is the pedal for you. If you want a usable and good sounding metal distortion, steer clear. I would never buy this pedal again.
