SOUND QUALITY

I met this pedal by chance, a few years already, given as a gift at a sale in Cygnus ... I already have everything we need, but I plugged "to see" .. Finally, to listen, rather
the first time on a Marshall JCM 600 head lamp full, clean channel.
And then .... the slap! A sharp crunch, rich bass in definition, very decent medium. If I dared ... I would go: a sound close to the JCM 800. Pure Marshall. The good "Roar!" But that was already duplicated the overdrive channel head.
Then this pedal is broken down ... (?) Management trash.

4 years later, having good memories of this tupperwaere distortion, I am redeemed a OCCAZ to power a CRATE V18 (all lamps) upgraded (see forum) that I wanted to find the "Roar".
And there ... the big disappointment! Sound flat, bland, dynamic type DS-1 anemic ...
So she left on the second hand market.

OVERALL OPINION

What améne me to say that this pedal will sound FAB completely differently depending on the amp.
You may say "like any pedals!" and indeed what is particularly striking!
A trial is therefore required before purchase.
At the same time, given its argus OCCAZ not take on too much risk ...
So the question "With experience, you do again this choice?"
and saw that the first one gave me: YES!

I've been playing guitar for over 30 years, took my first lesson at age 10. I play guitar and mandolin. Currently I play in a folk/bluegrass trio, and a four-piece rock band. I listen to all kinds of music.

I bought this pedal new on-line at Musiciansfriend for $14.99! I was looking for a good sounding distortion pedal but am on a budget.

This pedal is another hit from Danelectro! The unit is plastic, but very sturdy, and well made for the price you pay. Easy to use, with controls for level, tone, and distortion. A bright blue light tells you when it's on. The sound really surprised me. It's got that fuzzy, 60's distortion that's great for a variety of music styles. It's held up well for me so far. A good value for the price!

The plastic housing may not hold up over the long run, but for $15, it's easily replaced! For the price, you could buy a spare!

I was surprised at how sturdy this unit was considering the plastic housing. The footswitch is smooth, and the 1/4" connectors seem quite sturdy.

If you're looking for that fuzzy, 60's-style, Cream 'Wheels Of Fire' type sound, for under $20, the Fab Distortion pedal is the right choice !

OVERALL OPINION

When it activates the pert roundness in the bass and the tone knob does not change the problem, if it is turned over to the grave is lost in acute mdiums a problem but insolvent that can be offset by the choice of microphones and a good guitar amp rglage on leaving the tone knob end at noon, which I think is the best compromise.
The person who sold it to me it is 10 dbarrass by what he did not like him at all, I understood why, because when you try it on a mid-range amp transistor was a distortion of espce destroy that breaks the ears, punk kind of pimply teen, just to caricature, we feel set in motion the channel saturated with a bad transistor amp modern, but this can have its charm for those who love the sounds crados well.

Pickup on the guitar, a little more gain on my amp and pedals vintage fab with just a chouilla of distortion (not more than 1 / 4), with the band cho Danelectro and more I a nickel a good rock and roll of the derrire Fägt.
I think it's just the right chemistry between the gain of my amplifier transistor 60's vintage and the grain of the modern pedals for distortion, it is aintent integral part of my sound!

All the cblerie and knob are concentrated on the top, which offer no pratica, it's hard to see where it is to race the knobs, especially they are too small! To turn them need to be taken at your fingertips.
The power supply jack is entangled in short, not great.

A distortion. simply. A little too simply for my taste.

It's too dborde beginners race to speak of overdrive, we speak of a small plutt dito. In the middle of the race or is it gives full grain and spent half was definitely more attack with a dirty cot trs (dplaisant for me.)

As the fab mtal I possde, but less obvious, the tone knobs of Ragit Strange to. It is not quite optimum setting in a register.

OVERALL OPINION

A friendly disto for the price, which is pretty dbrouille in its range, but still quite far from a rat and other compression.

It was a severe lack of personality and practicable in the connector.

A small distortion pedal, light and easy to use.
Connect to sector or with a 9V battery.
When it is plugged in, it does not sucks the battery. (Yet happy)
Finally everything has already been said 20 times. ^ ^

UTILIZATION

No manual indeed, but very very easy to use.
3 buttons, the most common ones: a general, one tone and one disto.

SOUND QUALITY

This is not the pedal of the century of course ... But for an entry level it's great.
And on a bass ... it's excellent. In the lowest string (I play 5-string), B-string has a little trouble ... but hey, the goal of the distortion is still to be aggressive (I'd say almost yucky ... lol)

OVERALL OPINION

I do not use it much effects on my bass, but as I wanted a little pedal for a little heavier tracks, the seller made me try ... When he told me the price ... I took it ... lol At 17 € I could do something "crazy" I think. And for the way I'm using it, it is enough. Maybe later, I will buy a more powerful pedal, but sincerely, for bass players looking for a nice little effect, test it.
