With all the possible settings, you can use the manual, very well done, in French quickly discover all the different sounds you can have. After must be made to find his SON! All the settings are super effective!

Mastering settings is very fast, each button speaks for itself by its name ...

    SOUND QUALITY

Well then there must be clear and precise: it's a HUGE coming out of this little box!

I have a stratocaster deluxe, with a Peavey DeltaBlues mounted on a ppc412 Orange (I remove the HP of course peavey !...) Well I made jealous ...

It's a full preamp, I compared the sound to a head XLrevo 120: The Tonebone plugged directly into the effects loop for not going through the preamp, compared to "large" channel of the head .. .
Ba the Tonebone is comparable to the preamp section of the revo .... Whether at the level of gain accuracy, harmonics, cleanliness of the ... I think there heads who have trouble to do so. Basically, if you have a power amp lamp of good quality, with this kind of pedal you can boast the same sound with a full head lamps that it would have cost you an arm and a head .. .

    OVERALL OPINION

The trick of such a boring pedal is what is good in several areas: the crunch, the big rock to rock already very very nasty ... (There's the british version for metals ...) So the shot we want, or change its settings for each song played to always have the sound, is to have 2 or 3 to get his few sounds.

I use it for more than 6 months, no worries, I got it for less than € 210 (Please Gillou!). Then it's on it already but a sum comparable to what you would spend for the same sound with a head ....

And if it again I would resume the same! (Not British because I'm not too metal ...) to have two;)

I have to make recordings for you to enjoy ... But you can listen to on the site of Tonebone (http://www.tonebone.com/tb-classic.htm) And for fans of Eric Johnson, you will be pleasantly surprised!

For the description, everything has been said. It's solid, well designed, very ergonomic.

    UTILIZATION

The operation is very simple to understand. No worries on that side. The knobs are easy to read.

    SOUND QUALITY

The sound is superb, very hot, with lots of harmonics. I use it with an LP or a Start, a Bogner amp. The overdrive is more dirty, more blues than the Bogner, it allows for an extra sound. One plus is the very gradual gain staging, which allows all types of classic distortion, that is to say, with relatively little gain. Bass and treble settings are most effective that I have heard! You can also set the midrange, allowing her to have a fairly Marshall, even if …

One plus is the very gradual gain staging, which allows all types of classic distortion, that is to say, with relatively little gain. Bass and treble settings are most effective that I have heard! You can also set the midrange, allowing her to have a fairly Marshall, even if the amp which inspired this pedal is the Bassman. Its beautiful and much warmer than my Line6 and natural crunch that will "blend" not so much the grain of the amp. on the other hand, as mentioned above, the volume control is not always easy, due to the interaction of different settings. For example with the LP, I set one overdrive barely stronger than the clear sound of the amp, I plug my Start, the volume is much louder than the sound clear ... Another flaw: it goes very quickly feedback. Much more than the overdrive of Bogner, even if I put some treble.

A transistor amp, it is less relevant. Finally, it is not a tube screamer, it makes very clear on her (including that of Bogner is very pure and slightly compressed), a saturated sound, it sounds quickly boiled.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for four months, it's expensive, but I think it's justified because it has great sound and a wide variety of settings. The main handicap is the tendency to feedback (unless you research it) and adjusting the volume, but it comes out easily. It is ideal for the distortion vintage sound, between crunch and overdrive. Of course, we need the rest of the material to follow. I tested the mid-range gear, the sound was not great, a Maxon overdrive was doing better. I guess there are other excellent pedals lamps (Badcat, Maxon, Soldano ...) I have not tried everything.

The Radial Engineering Tonebone Classic is a tube overdrive pedal designed for electric guitar.  The pedal is made up of analog components and has 1/4 inch connections for both input and output.  The pedal requires the power supply that comes with it and this isn't rack mountable as it is a stomp box.  I believe that the pedal has a 12AX7 tube inside of it.

The configuration of the Radial Engineering Tonebone Classic isn't anything out of the ordinary, although there are a nice amount of parameters to work with here.  You've got knobs for level, high, low, filter, and drive, and then there are switches for top end, mid boost, and drive gain, each of which have three pos…

    UTILIZATION

The configuration of the Radial Engineering Tonebone Classic isn't anything out of the ordinary, although there are a nice amount of parameters to work with here.  You've got knobs for level, high, low, filter, and drive, and then there are switches for top end, mid boost, and drive gain, each of which have three possible settings.  It actually has a pretty similar make up to the Nady TD-1 tube overdrive, which I believe got its idea from the Tonebone.  Unless you've got no experience whatsoever with overdrive pedals and/or these parameters don't seem familiar to you, I don't think that a manual in needed.

    SOUND QUALITY

Radial Engineering's Tonebone Classic has an absolutely killer tone quality.  Its one of the best tube overdrive pedals out there in my opinion, as it not only has a full bodied tone, but is also quite versatile due to the amount of parameters that you've got to work with here.  I've used the pedal for recording with a Fender Strat and a Mesa Boogie amp, and the combination of this is definitely a good one as I was very happy with the sounds that I was able to achieve.  The pedal is great for both rhythm and lead tones, but I especially love the pedal for the crunchy rhythm sounds that I'm able to get with it.

    OVERALL OPINION

If you're looking for a real tube overdrive pedal, the Radial Engineering Tonebone Classic definitely needs to be considered.  It isn't the cheapest pedal out there, but it is reasonable for a real tube pedal as it is comparable to others on the market.  My favorite part about the Tonebone is how versatile it is, as I can get all sorts of tube overdrive tones with the pedal.  This is definitely a pedal I would highly recommend for anyone who is interested in getting a tube overdrive pedal, or just an overdrive pedal in general...
