Ibanez CF-7 Chorus / Flanger

Ibanez CF7 Stereo Chorus/FlangerPublished on 11/08/10 at 15:00
This is the silver Chorus Flanger combo pedal put out by Ibanez as part of the Tone Lok series.

I traded a friend for it. Brand new they for $60 with a free power supply from American Musical Supply.

What sold me on it was the sloppy, dirty analog sounding chorus. It nailed the Andy Summers' tone on some of the early Police records. When you messed with the knobs it affected the pitch. The speed, depth and delay are more than I could ever need.

It is a noisy non-true bypass pedal. I only see this pedal working out jamming or on stage. Recording with it would be a hassle. I would not suggest it for a mellow jazz setting either.

The flanger effect was very unimpressive to me, but I loved the chorus tone.

The box it built strong. It is a rugged metal. It could definitely take some abuse. The 'set and forget' knobs are pretty cool. You more getting a cool sound at practice then losing the settings in transit.

This pedal is very rock n roll. It's sloppy, loud, can take a few punches and will come back next weekend for more! If you want an 80s analog chorus sound but can't shell out the big bucks for an older Boss or Electro Harmonix, give this a shot.

Ibanez CF 7 Chorus / Flanger

Ibanez CF7 Stereo Chorus/FlangerPublished on 12/21/02 at 15:00
I got this at Guitar Center for 70 USD,
It was the cheapest pedal where I can get Chorus and Flanger

Well I like the Chorus better than the Flanger effect. With the Wak'd setting I can also make techno sounds which sounds
kinda cool. But I also like the Chorus
because I can get that effect from that slow acoustic riff from Metallica's
"Welcome Home Sanitarium." Plus I was able to create some of my own sounds.....

I hate the Flanger effect!!!!
God damn!!! The Flanger and Boss Metal Zone sound so nasty, I tried lowering the distortion and changing flange settings and still I can't get a god sound from it.

Sometimes the flanger would make this freakin cool sound that sounds like an Airplane pass by you really fast.

Made of Metal, and rubber on the bottom so
the pedal won't go away from your feet...
I accidently hit it with my bro's baseball bat and it still sounds the same LOL!!!

If you want a good Chorus pedal, well you're reading about it, and if you're a musician who is looking for different sounds
and ideas well; this pedal should be it especially with the Wak'd modes...

Ibanez CF7 Chorus / Flanger

Ibanez CF7 Stereo Chorus/FlangerPublished on 11/10/02 at 15:00
World Music in Simi Valley, CA for $69.99. I really bought it just for the flanger.

It's great! The thing has some beautiful chorus and twiddling the knobs around gets you some crazy modulation effects you'd never expect to coax out of such a harmless looking box.

Eats batteries! Invest in an adapter. Also, it has a weak flanger. I've tried, but I can't quite get the deep Kashmir-style flanger sound out of it.

There's a little test I put all my pedals through before I play them. I open them up and, holding the reciept firmly in one hand, I lift the pedal to shoulder's altitude and drop it. If it bounces and still works, it can stay. The CF7 passed with flying colors, and the Tone-Lok...…

If it bounces and still works, it can stay. The CF7 passed with flying colors, and the Tone-Lok knobs are great too.

Anyone who digs the strange sounds of Korn would be wise to buy this little tank. It sounds great and isn't too hard on the wallet.
