Pete Thorn asked Suhr to design a new humbucking pickup that can reproduce the clarity and versatility of the 50s’ guitar pickups.
The Thornbucker is the result of this collaboration between Suhr and Pete Thorn. Available in bridge and neck versions, the pickup can sound both clear, like a single-coil model, and slightly dirty, like traditional humbuckers do.
The Thornbucker neck version uses an Alnico V magnet and has a DC Resistance of 7.3 kOhms. The bridge model hosts an Alnico IV magnet and its DC Resistance is 8.4 kOhms. Both model use 4-conductor wiring and plain enamel coils.
The Thornbucker is available in Black, White, Parchment, Zebra and Reversed Zebra finishes. You can purchase it for $150 with a Nickel/Silver cover or $130 without any cover. More info at www.suhr.com.
