Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail NanoPublished on 08/15/11 at 17:45
The Electro-Harmonix Nano Holy Grail is a very simple and small reverb pedal - an offshoot from the regular EH Holy Grail pedal and also the Holy Grail Plus. It's the same great sound minus the control and versatility, but also loses the size. The pedal is an analog one and isn't rack mountable as it's a foot pedal.

UTILIZATION

The make up of the Electro-Harmonix Nano Holy Grail couldn't be simpler. It's got three modes to choose from - spring, hall, and flerb, the latter of which is a spacey flanger-reverb combo, also found on the other Holy Grail pedals and also on the EH Cathedral Reverb, which is my personal favorite. The only other parameter in addition to the mode switch is a large reverb knob to set the amount of the effect that you'd like. No manual is needed here of course.

SOUND QUALITY

Despite it's limitations when compared to it's more complete predecessors, the Electro-Harmonix Nano Holy Grail still has the same great sound. Between the three modes it's still possible to get a nice collection of tones with this, and it's definitely all at a very high quality - smooth and silky. I do prefer having the Cathedral reverb since I use it a lot and it has a lot of control, but this is a great alternative if you're looking for basic sounds only.

OVERALL OPINION

The Electro-Harmonix Nano Holy Grail is a great overall reverb pedal, even though it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that you'll get with the regular Holy Grail. It's of course cheaper in price which makes it appealing for users on all budgets. If you're looking for a cheaper reverb pedal without sacrificing quality, the Nano Holy Grail is a great way to go. Check out the other pedals I've mentioned here if you're looking for some more control...

reverb with 3 positions: spring / hall and flerb
I think digital technology
a knob to adjust the length and density
switch, jack in, jack out, incl ditto boss.

UTILIZATION

easier you die

SOUND QUALITY

nickel to simulate an amp reverb (spring), it's just what I was looking to add a reverb on my amp that does not, and having a second length adjustment effect on my foot Laney VC30. I hardly use the hall position, but it sounds very correctly.
As for flerb is a kind of flanger but applied only to the reverb, not the original sound of the guitar or bass or bagpipes .... I used pieces air, almost experimental, and here was the case. To use it too, here could be heavy or vulgar...…

OVERALL OPINION

excellent value for money (especially OCCAZ 50 euros).
Strengths: small size, great to add to a pedal board already crowded, and the power supply standard

Analog reverb pedal
Mains or battery 9Volt

UTILIZATION

Simple to use
Three types of reverb: spring, hall and flerb

SOUND QUALITY

At the risk of sounding like the ugly duckling, I find this very reverb below its notoriety.

Mode spring, compress your guitar sound and style in this, others do it better (eg 'Wet reverb')

Flerb mode is a useless gadget (unidentified reverb with a sort of light behind flanger)

This is what I call the EHX syndrome, rather than make one good effect in a pedal, he prefers (in 80% of cases) to at least two effects in one pedal, the second is more or less can .

Anyway ...

OVERALL OPINION

There is the way that Hall is doing ...

In summary you will spend between 90 and 100 euros for a single reverb.

Let me tell you a pedal as a "hall of fame" TC electronic, passed it to a gadget.

The moral: Save your money :)

reverb pedal effect size

UTILIZATION

very simple config. The concentrate of "what to and not need more"

SOUND QUALITY

Placed in the effects loop of my head IBANEZ TSA15H (no reverb) is a killer!

The three settings "spring", "lobby" and "flerb" (mixture of reverb and flanger) are EXCELLENT! No noise, no breath. The effect is there, and it is very beautiful.

The quality of the reverb produced is extraordinary.

OVERALL OPINION

Aquise récemmment, trendy ... sublime!

The +: quality / price UNBEATABLE!

The -: use only provided with the supplied adapter (not used with 9V battery) ... Therefore: do not lose or forget the power supply. Which may (?) In turn be subject to...…

Yes I would do that choice without hesitation.
